About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer with experience in Cypress.io or similar testing automation frameworks to join our team. You'll support our development teams in ensuring the full end-to-end shopping experience is well tested and teams can release code quickly. You'll build a robust test automation framework, maintain automated test suites and help developers augment the suites over time. You'll guide Lovevery's test strategy as a whole, ensuring automation at the unit/module/controller level is built out appropriately. You'll do it all with a platform focus in mind - continuously looking for opportunities to enhance our technology, increase velocity and maintain a high quality bar.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining a robust test-automation framework in Cypress.io or similar testing automation frameworks that follows best practices for end-to-end testing
  • Working with Engineering Managers to define Lovevery's test strategy as a whole, ensuring automation at the unit/module/controller level is built out appropriately
  • Advise on test plans that development squads must execute on deploy
  • Creating and maintaining automated end-to-end tests for the Lovevery web user interface and ensuring the tests are stable, flake-free, and fast
  • Working with software engineers to ensure they can add to the automation suite and they have solid comprehensive tests for each new and evolving feature
  • Investigating test failures, integrating tests with CI/CD pipeline to ensure we have a reliable and high-quality deploys
  • Working closely with product teams consisting of a Product Manager, UX Designer, and Software Developers.
  • Mentoring and pairing with mid-level test automation engineers

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer, working on rich web apps/sites
  • 1+ years of experience working with Cypress.io, Selenium or similar test automation frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience working with modern CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript and React
  • You've built frameworks in the past and think about reusable libraries, maintainability over time, and keeping each test lean and focused
  • You know how to write a stable functional test
  • Expert in creating and executing test plans based on the understanding of feature goals, software architecture and how our customers use our solutions
  • You are able to work independently, have a leadership point of view, and drive results in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks
  • Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up recommendations and drive decisions
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines
  • Familiarity with native mobile app testing
