Title: Global Learning (CI) Programs Leader – Lean Mfg Ops – Remote

The Operational Excellence OpX Capabilities COE team is responsible for developing high performance at scale across the Manufacturing Network with a specific focus on driving continuous improvement and lean transformation of manufacturing locations globally. The Director, Learning and Capabilities Manufacturing Capabilities COE is responsible for development and ongoing evolution of the Operational Excellence Academy which includes the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that facilitate professional development and continuous improvement learning across the enterprise. This role offers a unique opportunity to craft thoughtful Operational Excellence-focused learning & development programs in alignment with the strategic business framework. This role leads a team of professionals developing learning content, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), orchestrating and managing training sessions, facilitating workshops and partnering with other internal and external learning organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, establish and sustain the Operational Excellence Academy to learning paths based in Lean and/or Six Sigma to enable continuous improvement at scale – providing a training for all’ approach for learning about each of the SPS standards, e.g., 5S, Visual-Management, Standard Work, Kaizen events program, SMED, Flow, Poka-Yoke, PDCA, etc.
  • Connect with internal stakeholders and leadership to understand the needs of various development programs and roles and connection to Continuous Improvement, Lean and Operational Excellence Training
  • Develop partnerships with external organization to enhance the offerings of the Academy
  • Drive strategic planning and direction setting for learning and capability building within the scope of Operational Excellence
  • Partner with Manufacturing Excellence and Manufacturing on opportunities to build capabilities within plants before, during and after various improvement projects
  • Ensure methodologies and practices taught in the Academy are consistent with the work Manufacturing Excellence, Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement are driving across the network
  • Determine how to measure the success of and impact of the programs and their offerings
  • Forward thinking and partnering with other organizations across Stanley Black and Decker to evolve the Academy- leading with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Mentor and develop team members

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Learning or related field with at least 10 years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing
  • Experience designing, developing and/or deploying corporate and manufacturing focused learning programs
  • Masters or MBA preferred
  • Prior experience either leading or working within a Center of Excellence team
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience in communicating with senior leadership and driving a strategic agenda
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability for managing multiple projects in parallel and/or managing large programs of work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, global and domestic, travel % may vary based on business needs
