The Role:

Backstage is seeking a QA Manager to lead and manage the quality assurance efforts acros multiple brands, ensuring that our products and services meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as strong problem-solving and organizational abilities. They should be detail-oriented and have a strong focus on quality, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. The QA manager will manage a team of vendor and contract testers to ensure thorough and timely test execution. They will work closely with developers, product managers, customer service and stakeholders to ensure that the products we deliver meet our customers’ needs and expectations. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, and for identifying and troubleshooting issues with software and processes.

The QA Manager will report to Backstage’s CTO.

What you’ll do:

  • Build on existing and develop new quality assurance processes and strategies to ensure that products and services meet required standards and customer expectations
  • Implement process changes to scale testing efforts across multiple products
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with software and processes
  • Manage QA vendor relationship, budget and workload
  • Lead a team of QA professionals, including setting priorities, providing guidance and direction, and evaluating performance
  • Create thorough test plans to present and discuss with engineers during project kickoffs
  • Review and verify new bug tickets, and oversee the execution of testing activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product management, engineering, and design, to ensure that quality standards are integrated throughout the organization
  • Work closely with the customer support team to review and analyze product and customer feedback to identify and prioritize quality improvements

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Advanced experience testing complex web and iOS apps
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools
  • Extensive vendor management experience
  • Quick learner who will become a product expert across multiple global brands
  • Experience managing multiple projects in QA simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and cross-departmental collaboration
  • Proven ability to convey complex technical requirements in a clear and succinct manner
  • Experience creating in-depth test plans and overseeing test case creation
  • Strong understanding of Jira or comparable ticket management tools
  • Exceptional organizational and delegation skills
  • Experience mentoring junior testers

$75,000 – $120,000 a year

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs.
