The Opportunity:
Responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve claim issues and secure appropriate and timely reimbursement. Identifies and analyzes denials and payment variances and acts to resolve account including drafting and submitting technical appeals.
Essential Functions:
- Examines denied and in process claims to determine reason for resolution.
- Communicates directly with payers to follow up on outstanding claims, file technical appeals, resolve balance variances, and ensure timely reimbursement. Ability to identify with specific reason denials, and cause of payment delay.
- Works with management to identify, trend, and address root causes of issues in the A/R.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of federal and state regulations, as well as payer specific requirements and taken appropriate action accordingly. Documents activity accurately including contact names, addresses, phone numbers, and other pertinent information.
- Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness by making recommendations and communicating trends and issues to management.
- Needs to be a strong problem solver and critical thinker to resolve accounts.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GEDHigh School Diploma or GED with preference for 2 or 4 year degree or 4 years’ direct experience for external candidates.
- Internal candidate must be in revenue cycle for 6 months internally and must have met 100% productivity consistently, 95% Quality Assurance in each of the last 3 months. No disciplinary action in past 6 months, committed to flexible work schedule to meet business needs and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in medical collections or professional billing preferred.
- Knowledge of claims review and analysis.
- Working knowledge of revenue cycle.
- Experience working the DDE Medicare system.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and/or insurance claim terminology.
- Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Must pass typing test of 35 words per minute (error adjusted).
- Excellent Verbal skills.
- Problem solving skills, the ability to look at account and determine a plan of action for collection.

What We'll Expect From You

At Monzo Europe, we are looking for a Control Testing and Assurance Manager, within the First Line of Defence (1LOD), to ensure a comprehensive and functioning control environment. The CPS Specialist is responsible for owning and resolving all client inquiries, by developing a deep understanding of Commercial products and systems while building a trusted network across various departments, including Sales, Product, Relationship Managers, Client Services, and Operations. The CPS Specialist is also responsible for providing Treasury Solution application training to their portfolio of clients as they onboard new cash management products.
The CPS Specialist will focus on establishing and fostering relationships with their assigned portfolio, including meeting on a regular basis with Relationship Managers, Clients, and other key business partners to discuss existing services, streamlining operational processes, and resolving urgent needs. Assigned client portfolios can be large and complex with very high expectations for their service delivery.

In this role, the Coding Auditor - DRG/APC Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accuracy and quality of coding assignments for all records requiring DRG and/or APC coding, and ensures optimal and timely reimbursement.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs data quality reviews on inpatient and outpatient records to ensure proper coding guidelines have been followed and appropriate DRG or APC assignments have been made for appropriate reimbursement
- Provides DRG/APC and coding quality information and statistical reports to the Coding Manager
- Communicates with the Medical Staff and House staff as needed to discuss clinical questions with respect to the assignment of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Educates the Medical Staff and House staff regarding the importance of sufficient documentation to support the assignment of the appropriate DRG/APC
- Reviews Hospitals' specific coding guidelines and procedures and suggests changes and updates to the Coding Manager

Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited academic body or in lieu of a completed degree; equivalent experience
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials
- Four (4) years coding experience with a minimum of two (2) years PPS coding, DRG grouping, & APC payment experience
- Five (5) years of inpatient facility coding experience with at least two (2) years in an academic setting
