Do you want to work for a mission-driven nonprofit, designing products that will contribute to helping the livelihoods of millions of coffee farmers around the world? Enveritas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Y Combinator-backed startup looking to hire for our Engineering & Data Group. We are looking for a product designer to focus on our internal tools software to join us on a remote/global, full-time basis. Our Data Collection Product Team is one of six product teams and part of our Engineering & Data Group. You can learn more about this job and about our Data Collection Team at https://enveritas.org/jobs/product-designer/
About Our Engineering & Data Group
We are a quirky, talented, and humble group of about twenty-five people with erse backgrounds, ranging from journalism to academia to international industry. We’re represented across the gender spectrum, with 36% of our Engineering and Data Group identifying as women and/or nonbinary. Several of us are parents, with more expecting.
Our group builds software to collect, analyze, and report data about coffee farmers’ conditions and practices. This large-scale data-collection effort requires many moving parts to work together, and we use technology to support that effort at every step of the process — from identifying coffee farms in satellite imagery, to coordinating survey edits across country teams, to detecting data anomalies in real-time that can be investigated while teams are still in the field. A core part of our work is in data aggregation and report generation, with insights ultimately being shared with roasters and other stakeholders on how to assist in improving the social, economic, and environmental conditions of smallholder farmers.
Our backend services primarily use a Python/PostgreSQL stack running on Linux. We use git and Github for maintaining our code, CircleCI for CI/CD, and AWS for hosting our services and static resources, with containerization where appropriate for development and deployment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be part of the Data Collection Product Team, working closely with product managers and engineers. The team builds survey management and deployment software to support our large-scale data collection operations. As part of the team, you will:
Lead the design of our data collection applications (Jebena, Point Dropper, Enveritas App). You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to improve our data collection products, helping to improve efficiency, accuracy and reliability for our data collection operations. You will conduct user research, develop design concepts and take projects from ideation to production.
Improve the user experience of existing features. You will take responsibility over the user experience of the data collection tools and consistently work with the product team to improve the architecture, usability and efficiency of the software.
Collaborate with other designers and engineers to develop and maintain a design system and best practices to ensure consistency across all data collection applications. You will establish UI/UX guidelines, create reusable design components, and support the team in implementing high-quality user experiences.
Qualifications
Read this first: research shows that people of different backgrounds read job postings differently. If you don’t think you meet all of the qualifications but do think you’d be a great match for us, please consider applying and sharing more in your application. We’d love to talk with you to see what skills you can bring to our team. This said, we are most likely to be interested in your candidacy if you can demonstrate the majority of the qualifications listed below:
Strategic mindset and a passion for finding simple, usable solutions to complex problems
Strong UX and visual design competencies and strong understanding of interaction patterns for usable, performant and accessible web and mobile applications
Strong understanding of the end-to-end design process, from identifying needs & pains to delivering coherent user experiences
Systems thinker with the ability to connect the dots in an ecosystem of applications
Strong written & verbal communication skills, ability to present concepts to the team and provide feedback on concepts from peers
Familiarity and comfort with common design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Balsamiq, Excalidraw)
Multiple years of professional experience as a product designer or user experience or design engineer in a team environment.
Who You Are
Our team is fully distributed, so you should be comfortable with remote work. This role is a full-time inidual contributor role. While you can be located anywhere that our EOR (Deel) supports, our core hours are 10am to 2pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, with team members choosing either an early start or later stop as suits them.
You should be inspired by our mission to improve the lives of smallholder coffee farmers, and have an interest in sustainability. You should have a deep empathy for users of our tools and understand the importance of supporting the work of other teams. Because operational and business needs can be ambiguous and change on a short time-scale, you should have a love for environments with uncertainty, and enjoy not only solving problems, but discovering and demystifying them.
We are a small team! You should be comfortable working both independently and as a thoughtful collaborator, sensitive to the legibility and maintainability of your code when in the hands of your teammates.

Desmos Studio is on a mission to help everyone learn math, love math, and grow with math. We do this by building a free suite of math tools, now used by more than 100 million people around the world (and growing!). As a public benefit corporation, we’re committed to keeping our core products freely available for inidual use, not relying on external funding, never allowing 3rd party advertising, and never selling our users’ data. We’re able to stand behind those commitments on the back of being healthily profitable with a transparent business model: we license our software to other companies to incorporate into their products.
We have an increasingly ambitious roadmap as we expand our tools and grow into new markets. We also want to make sure that everything we put out into the world feels as polished and intuitive as we can make it. So, we’re looking to hire a visual designer (our second!) to join our small but mighty team as we deliver the best experiences we can to the students, teachers, and companies that rely on us.
You’ll be a great fit for the visual designer role if you love both visual and interaction design, are frequently asking “what can I simplify?” and are excited to share the beauty of math with many more people around the world. It’s a bonus if you have experience with the affordances and constraints of working in browsers, including responsive design and HTML/CSS. As a member of our design team, you’ll collaborate across the company to help us create and maintain products that are elegant, in both appearance and functionality.
What to Expect from the Role
What you should show up ready to teach anyone on your first day:
Best practices in UI design to achieve a clean, consistent, and intuitive user experience that is responsive across various devices and screen sizes.
How to use Figma to collaborate on and communicate about design choices with product, engineering, and other stakeholders.
About a design you’re most proud of and what the small, pixel-perfect details of that design communicate to those who experience it.
Something new that you’re excited to have learned recently!
What you’ll learn more about after you’re hired:
Our Design Principles - how they guide our decisions in design and how they build off of our Guiding Principles.
Our commitment to accessibility across our products and platform, including the motivation for, and requirements of, various accessibility standards like the WCAG standards.
The boundless creativity of the Desmos community and our goals for showcasing that brilliance in our visual communication.
Our company's 1-year goals and our long term aspirations as a Public Benefit Corporation (and what it means to be a PBC).
Within your first month, you’ll:
Spend time getting to know our team (there’s roughly 30 of us today!) and the ways we work together.
Share design concepts with other members of the team, asking for and incorporating feedback into all stages of that process.
Learn about our brand and UI component library and contribute to its growth.
Build something of interest in each of our tools and share about what you created with more of the product team (the best way to design for our users is by starting with your own user journey!)
Within your first three months, you’ll:
Help shape low fidelity mockups and bring them to life as you iterate on high fidelity designs as part of the development process.
Design something new in our UI and communicate about your choices (including about the behavior of that element across different states).
Attend team meetings during a development cycle and provide feedback on the design of feature changes.
Become a valued thought partner in addressing user needs, especially accessibility needs, through design.
Within your first year, you’ll:
Help define and maintain a unified visual and interaction language across our products and platform.
Design visuals to support product and internal needs, including original icons, UI elements, website graphics, and other visual assets across the business.
Attend your first in-person company offsite, and participate in company brainstorming sessions around things like our 1 year goals.
Take a vacation to recharge. We do our best work when we’re happy and well-rested.
As part of the team, you’ll receive:
Competitive compensation. Every full-time member of the team receives generous stock and salary compensation as well as a 401(k) match of up to 5% of annual salary.
Great benefits. We offer medical, vision, dental, short-term disability, long term disability, and life insurance. We also offer Medical and Dependent Care FSAs, a minimum of 30 days off (including 19 full-company holidays), and more!
Work-life balance. We’re a fully remote team, and we encourage time shifting. We value results over hours and sustainable, long-term success over short-term wins.
Ownership and influence. As a member of a small team with few external stakeholders, each person here plays a major role in defining our policies, goals, culture, and benefits.

You must have the right to work in the UK for your application to be considered, thank you!
Raileasy are looking for a talented product designer to work with our technical engineering team, as we scale up our product offering, introduce new features and look to refine existing customer journeys to improve usability.
We're looking for somebody UK-based who can work with Figma, and has an ability to create visually appealing designs and prototypes for both desktop and mobile platforms, as part of work on product enhancements and usability improvements.
Based in London, we are an independent retailer of train tickets. Our systems power a number of established brands in the UK rail space (particularly where split-ticketing is involved) such as TrainSplit (our own brand), Realtime Tickets [from Realtime Trains], SplitMyFare, Railboard and others. We provide B2C and B2B web and mobile applications under the TrainSplit and Raileasy brands and compete successfully with some of the largest players in the retail space, despite having a small team.
We are interested in someone who is passionate about creating consistent, high quality user experiences and end-to-end customer journeys. You should be able to produce visually appealing designs that balance brand consistency, regulatory requirements and overall usability. Previous experience in transport would be an asset, but is by no means a requirement.
Your work should be user-centric and follow accessibility and inclusive design principles.
Users should be delighted when using your work, and you will be experienced at designing for emotion to produce a positive user experience and retain customers.
Essential criteria
You will be creating and maintaining shared UI libraries, patterns, and templates in Figma, so experience with Figma or a tool such as Sketch is essential.
You should work well in ambiguous spaces, identifying problems and crafting clear, impactful solutions which make the user experience better.
Proven ability to create strong visual and interaction designs, as well as prototypes, for both desktop and mobile platforms, evidenced through portfolio (e.g. Dribbble).
Understanding of web and mobile accessibility requirements and the ability to implement these into designs for products
Desirable qualifications
A graphic design background
- As a small organisation, our team members have a general willingness to wear different hats. We would want your overall focus to be on product design and UX, but there may be other small design work projects that you could help with (e.g. showcasing the apps by working on marketing collateral) that assist with overall growth, and any assistance here would be appreciated. Nevertheless, we wouldn’t see this as a core part of the role.
Experience being involved in usability research to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a design
Ability to break down complex problems (which are abundant in rail retail!) and achieve a balance between flexibility/power and ease-of-use
An interest in public transport/rail
- By no means do we expect you to have domain knowledge, we’re happy to give full training on rail domain matters that you would need to know

Summary
Kreative UX-Talente aufgepasst!
Du hast bereits in Design Sprints gearbeitet.

About Embedded Medical
Embedded is the AI-powered Operating System for Consumer Healthcare. We are the engine for non-healthcare entities to launch, run, and grow their own consumer telemedicine brand — launch in minutes, not months. Brands choose among the modularized components that make up a digital clinic, with the no-code operating system functioning as the glue that seamlessly holds the components together. We’re starting with a focus on GLP-1 medications for weight loss in the US.
GLP-1 medications are a f*ing big deal. We’re in a remarkable & rapid period of change which will radically reshape the patient & cash flows in the healthcare system.
Our mission is to accelerate the global take-up of GLP-1 medications to help solve obesity worldwide by building an AI-powered, consumer-led global healthcare system. We’re building the infrastructure to have served 100 million patients worldwide by the end of 2034. In so doing, we have the opportunity to become the world’s first trillion dollar healthcare company: the operating system for any non-healthcare entity to seamlessly offer consumer-led healthcare, globally.
We’ve grown >1000x since Aug 2021, >200x since Aug 2022, >20x since Aug 2023. We’ve just hit $70M ARR, grown >2000x since Aug 2021, fast approaching 20,000 active subscribers, and we’ve been cashflow positive for the last 21mo. lots going on!
Almost all of this has so far been through our main D2C brand Fella. Embedded is still new.
We’re a young startup and we’re just getting started. This is still Day 1 and all our work is ahead of us.

Unwavering integrity: We are at the frontier, so we often live in ambiguity with no trodden path. When we can’t look to others for guidance, we must maintain impeccable ethics and unwavering integrity.
Only the paranoid survive: Bad sh*t is coming. By joining us, you’re choosing to sail straight towards the storms with unhesitating conviction. However much we’ve already done, however far we’ve already come — it’s still Day 1 and all our work is ahead of us.
Your life’s work: This will be your most challenging, most rewarding role of your life. You’ll be shocked how capable you are & how much you can achieve.
If we’re average we fail: We are only interested in “insanely great”, a focus on the quality of our execution that in everyday life would be considered pathological. We have a dedication to excellence and reject incompetence.
Commitment to candor: That which can be destroyed by the truth should be. You get full transparency from the company and the company expects full transparency from you. We never say anything about someone that we wouldn’t say to them directly. We give feedback with love and do not need to protect people from fleeting physical sensations.
A maniacal sense of urgency: We execute at an intensity that most people think is impossible. Speed is critical and we need things done yesterday. We all work very hard and in such a competitive world there really is no other way to win.
Enduring frugality: We are frugal. We hate being wasteful and we are anti-luxury. A culture of cheapness keeps us young. We spend our cash wisely & carefully — in a way that would make our grandmas proud.
Bulldozing barriers: The world is malleable and we shape it. We truly believe this and act accordingly. We are relentlessly resourceful and are at the mercy of no-one but ourselves.
Keep your head down: We’re boring people doing exciting work. We don’t chase short-term status — we ignore short-term dopamine hits and focus on what matters. Outsiders will underestimate us and we revel in that.
The power of focus: We live in a world of power laws and we cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything. Know your One Thing, and nail it.

Being a Product Designer at Embedded Medical
You’ll be taking the lead on product design at Embedded Medical.
This is a founding role, so you’ll be setting the direction and shaping the product experience from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for redesigning the web app and leading the design of our native app, which is currently in development.
The work starts and ends with the user & what happens in between is yours to shape. You’ll own the function fully. That means defining the experience, prototyping, testing, and working closely with product and engineering to keep shipping. We really do believe that artists ship and you are an artist.
You’ll report directly to our Head of Product and Operations (Ben Dowdle), and work closely with engineering, ops, and data. On any given week, you might be syncing with engineers in Kosovo, reviewing support feedback from the ops team, or refining designs that help reduce the thousands of user messages we get each week. The product has grown fast without design input — your role is to bring clarity, logic, and care into everything we ship moving forward.
This is a full-time remote role. We’re async-friendly and flexible on hours, though some overlap with UK or US time zones is helpful for staying in sync with the team and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Straight away:
Redesign the core web app experience to improve flow, navigation, and clarity across existing features
Identify where users are getting stuck or confused and propose clear, practical design solutions
Turn support feedback, team input, and product data into actionable UX improvements
Create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs that make complex tasks feel simple
Make the product easier to navigate and understand so users always know where they are and what to do
Work closely with engineering and ops to move fast and ship improvements continuously
In the future:
Lead the design of our native app from scratch from early concepts through to launch
Define the structure, interaction patterns, and visual language of the mobile experience
Build and maintain a simple design system to support visual and functional consistency across platforms
Bring structure to design at Embedded helping us move faster while raising the overall quality of what we ship.
Need to have
Experience
You’ve spent 5+ years designing digital products, ideally both web and mobile. You don’t need healthcare experience. What matters is that you’ve designed real things used by real people.
Self-direction
You don’t wait for instructions. You take ownership, find the problem, design the solution, and move it forward. You’re confident running your own process and making decisions without needing constant input.
Artists ship
You’ll take UX and UI from idea to launch. You’ll ensure we ship on time. Under you, everything runs smoothly from flow to final interface.
Craft
You have strong visual and interaction design skills. You care about clarity, flow and consistency — not just how things look, but how they work. You’re confident in Figma and can take a project from early concepts through to final files.
Communication
You explain your thinking clearly — in writing, async updates, or live calls. You know how to ask the right questions, give and receive feedback, and keep things moving even when direction isn’t crystal clear.
Portfolio
You have a portfolio that shows how you think. We want to see your process, how you approached a problem, what you explored, and how your work improved the experience.
Nice to have
Creative foundation
You studied design, computer science, or a related creative field or picked up the equivalent depth of thinking along the way.
Healthcare context
You’ve worked on products in or around healthcare.
Technical awareness
You don’t need to write code, but you’re comfortable working with engineers and thinking through implementation. You understand the basics of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript and know how to design with constraints in mind.
