You are a creative UX/UI Designer who wants to join a fast-growing Commerce Experience team. You are passionate, driven, a self starter with the desire to constantly learn, grow and be the best you can be. You want to work alongside a team of experienced practitioners across UX and UI, Data and Insight, Ecommerce, Digital and Social Content as well as a wider group of services.

You will work closely with the Head of CX as we expand and grow the design team and provide support and mentorship to junior UXers. You will propose new and creative ideas that challenge the norm, to create coherent solutions working around the users’ needs

You can demonstrate your creativity, problem solving and design experience with real life examples from your experience working at a digital agency.

You are a champion of the customer experience and want to ensure a consistent user journey through all customer touch points. You use data and research to inform and guide you through the design process. You are personable and have the ability to articulate and discuss your designs and bring customers with you on the design journey.

Here’s some of the stuff that will keep you busy in a typical week:

  • You will work within our Commerce Experience Design team on a range of digital projects to enhance and streamline the User Experience on our customers websites. You will Create simple, beautiful & intuitive user interfaces that will provide leading experiences.
  • You will conduct user research, usability testing and analyse all research and feedback to gain user insight and then playback your findings to our customers.
  • You are able to take business requirements and technical limitations and translate them into a coherent set of design deliverables. You will create necessary sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. You will always ensure your designs meet customer and user requirements.
  • You will find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability) and test and design landing pages and websites to maximise conversion for our customers.
  • This will include producing and delivering consistent, user focused designs across mobile, tablet and desktop by creating high quality design concepts, wireframes and prototypes that accurately reflect a design language or brand guideline. You will create the appropriate content and content design throughout the customer experience.
  • You will be happy working from home and having regular remote project catch ups via video call.

< class="h3">  < class="h3">What You’ll Be Doing

The following should give you an idea of how you’ll be expected to typically be spending your time. It’s not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role

Helping define opportunities to improve user experiences (40%)

You will be curious and tenacious in wanting to understand the underlying causes of problems and user behaviours, employing both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to achieve this.

You will collaborate with our core data and insights specialists to study customer conversion funnels and identify opportunities. You will gather meaningful insights to drive digital change and influence iterative testing, experience and experimentation strategies.

You will analyse data, both quantitative and qualitative to validate your hypothesis’ and perform detailed heuristic and competitor analysis for our customers to drive innovation. You will conduct UX Audits and various User Research activities for our customers, such as, UX Surveys, usability testing, card sorting etc. and analyse all research and define a prioritised road map of activities informed by your findings. You will create detailed documentation of key insights and communicate your findings to customer stakeholders.

Reporting into the Head of CX you will be responsible for delivering and executing our user insight, optimisation and experience strategies.

Designing immersive commerce experiences (50%)

You will design and optimise digital commerce experiences for a range of clients and projects across a mix of industries.

You will be involved in collaborative discovery workshops (design, problem definition, ideation and requirements gathering), work closely with product owners and developers to ensure a user focused approach from concept through to launch.

You will incorporate feedback from user insight and research into your designs. You will always ensure your designs meet client and user requirements. You will help define the design deliverables and estimate project work and create the agreed outputs, which can include user flows, wireframes, prototypes, concept sketches, responsive page designs and digital style guides.

You will run regular design check ins with customers to handover your designs and capture feedback and talk through your UX reasoning. You are personable and able to bring customers on the design journey. You have the willingness to listen to customer and peer feedback and use it to improve.

You will collaborate with UX and UI designers and front-end developers to execute solutions.

You’ll set up your design files with care, naming your files, folders, and layers appropriately and creating components where needed, so that others who encounter your work can move efficiently through it.

Documenting Design Standards and Mentoring Designers (10%)

Work with Junior and midweight UX designers to ensure the agreed design process is executed and iterative testing cycles and experience strategies are delivered.

Document design standards to be followed by existing and new team members.

Reviewing designers within their team ahead of sign off schedules and offering feedback where appropriate.

Be the lead on design handovers with clients where supporting a junior designer.

< class="h3">  < class="h3">Your Responsibilities
  • Facilitate discovery and creative workshops with key stakeholders.
  • Advise and guide customers on the best features and functionality to enhance the user journey and deliver bottom-line growth.
  • Help drive the strategic direction of UX/UI within Space 48, collaborating with internal teams to deliver best in class digital products, whilst incorporating brand aesthetics.
  • Develop a UX community of practice within Space 48 and stay up to date with latest research methods and UX and UI trends.
  • Identify user needs, prototyping solutions, testing ideas and refine designs with data and user feedback.
  • Be a storyteller and problem solver, using personas, sitemaps, wireframes, prototyping, storyboards etc, to bring customer journeys to life
  • Understand conversion metrics, and how designs contribute to performance
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to articulate and discuss your design decisions with internal stakeholders
  • Stay up to date with the ecommerce platforms and partners we work with and have an awareness of limitations and impacts to overall project costs before presenting design ideas to customers
  • Create and provide attractive designs that are equally usable and beautiful and on brand for our customers
  • Facilitate design team standups to ensure team members are on track with their sprints and that any issues are raised or help required is given.
  • Running feedback sessions with designers ahead of handovers to ensure all requirements and guidelines are considered.
  • Facilitating design handover meetings with clients and presenting where a junior may have been the lead designer on projects.

The following are the types of tasks that you may be required to perform as part of your role.

  • Analyse and build reports identifying test performances.
  • Engage in research and discovery activities to develop deep empathy with our customers and understand their needs and user challenges
  • Get involved in the testing and validation of your design solutions, iterating and enhancing them in line with the results and feedback you’ve obtained
  • Build usability lab criteria and user participant profiles
  • Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final design in Figma as deliverables for the technology team for all platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet, apps)
  • Work with project managers and front end engineers to deliver prototypes, IA diagrams, workflows and wireframes.
  • Assist with QA to ensure that products/features meet requirements across various user journey personas
  • Constructively challenge customer ideas if necessary, and suggest better, more workable solutions.
  • Test and design landing pages to maximise conversion
