Who We Are:
Ethena Labs is at the forefront of the next wave of DeFi, dedicated to building products for modern finance. Ethena is a synthetic dollar protocol built on Ethereum that provides a crypto-native solution for money, USDe, alongside a globally accessible dollar savings asset, sUSDe.
Our core mission is to provide truly crypto-native financial solutions that are globally accessible and bridge the gap between TradFi and the digital asset economy. We believe in transparency, efficiency, and empowering both iniduals and institutions with greater control over their assets.
What we are Doing:
Ethena Labs is actively building and deploying a suite of groundbreaking products designed to address key challenges and unlock new opportunities within the digital finance landscape.
Our flagship product, USDe, is a synthetic dollar backed by digital assets, and takes the novel approach of using a delta-neutral hedging strategy to maintain its peg. This provides a truly scalable and censorship-resistant digital dollar.
Building upon USDe, we offer sUSDe. sUSDe provides crypto-native rewards generated from funding rates in derivatives markets, offering an alternative to existing products tethered to the traditional financial system.
Furthermore, we are actively developing solutions to facilitate institutional adoption of digital assets. In partnership with Securitize and Blackrocks BUIDL fund, USDtb provides a more traditional, asset-backed stablecoin option, leveraging established financial infrastructure to appeal to institutional clients. Expanding on this, iUSDe is designed specifically for traditional financial institutions, incorporating necessary compliance features to enable them to access the crypto-native rewards our protocol generates, in an institutional-friendly manner.
Finally, our most ambitious undertaking to date is Converge, our joint blockchain initiative with Securitize. This hybrid blockchain is designed to be the nexus where DeFi meets the needs of CeFi and TradFi. Converge aims to be a primary issuance layer for tokenised assets, integrating seamlessly with existing DeFi protocols to provide institutions with an environment to participate in the decentralised economy.
Through these offerings, Ethena Labs is not just creating new financial products; we are building the foundational infrastructure for a more open, efficient, and interconnected global financial system.
Join us!
The Role
As the Head of Security, you will lead and own the comprehensive security strategy for our Ethena. You will be functionally accountable for all aspects of security, ensuring the protection of our assets, infrastructure, data, personnel, and facilities. This includes cybersecurity, blockchain security, physical security, and operational security.
This is a pivotal opportunity to build a security-first culture in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where DeFi innovations meet real-world risks. You will collaborate closely with Product Engineering, DeFi Engineering, Security Engineering, DevOps and non-engineering teams to embed security into every facet of our operations, from smart contract development to physical site protections. By driving compliance, incident response, and proactive threat mitigation, you’ll safeguard our users’ funds, maintain regulatory alignment, and position the company for scalable growth in the evolving crypto landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute a holistic security strategy encompassing cybersecurity, blockchain security, physical security, and operational security, aligning with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and DeFi-specific risks.
- Oversee blockchain and smart contract security, including audits, formal verification, secure key management, and protections against exploits like reentrancy or flash loan attacks.
- Build and enforce a robust cybersecurity framework, including threat detection systems (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS), secure DevOps practices, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage physical security operations, including access controls, surveillance, executive protection programs, travel risk assessments, and site audits for offices, data centers, events, and key personnel residences.
- Drive compliance and regulatory alignment, achieving milestones such as SOC 2 and ISO 270001; prepare for audits and liaise with regulators.
- Establish incident response and crisis management plans, conducting simulations, drills, and rapid recovery for cyber, physical, or hybrid threats to minimize downtime and losses.
- Foster a security-first culture through training, workshops, and integration of security-by-design principles across all teams.
- Lead and scale the security team, hiring and mentoring Senior/Staff Security Engineers (and potentially physical security specialists), while overseeing the Security Engineering team.
- Implement real-time monitoring, threat intelligence, and performance metrics for digital and physical assets.
- Manage security budgets, vendor relationships, and resources to optimize effectiveness.
- Future-proof security for growth, anticipating emerging threats in DeFi and adapting systems for new products, integrations, and expanded operations.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive experience in security leadership roles, with demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, physical security, and risk management, preferably in fintech, crypto, or high-tech environments.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, including blockchain/DeFi security (e.g., smart contract auditing, cryptographic protocols) and physical protections (e.g., executive security, facility assessments).
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams, including oversight of engineers and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Expertise in incident response, crisis management, threat intelligence, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, AML/KYC); experience achieving certifications is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in secure software development, infrastructure security (e.g., cloud, Kubernetes, AWS), and tools for monitoring, automation, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to convey complex security concepts to technical teams, executives, regulators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with adaptability in dynamic environments, strong problem-solving, and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Experience in budget and vendor management for security operations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar are a plus.
- Familiarity with DeFi-specific risks and technologies is highly desirable.
Why Ethena Labs?
- Join a forward-thinking, crypto-native company with a mission to revolutionize decentralized finance.
- Work alongside a passionate and innovative team that values collaboration and creativity.
- Enjoy a flexible, remote-friendly work environment with opportunities for growth and learning.

You will design and implement backend services that integrate with GDS, NDC, and other travel APIs, aggregating fares, schedules, and inventory from multiple providers into a unified platform. Our systems deliver fast, reliable search and booking capabilities, giving travelers and partners a streamlined, efficient experience. You will work with Go/Golang, distributed systems, and large-scale integrations to build robust and scalable services. You will apply strong engineering practices to ensure systems are secure, high-performance, and resilient. As we expand coverage and add partners, you will adapt quickly, iterate on features, and focus on delivering measurable impact for our customers in the travel and transport industries.
Who We Are
We are a YC-backed startup with $8M+ raised, led by repeat founders who’ve built and scaled successful companies before. Our mission is ambitious: we’re building deeply integrated AI systems that understand, reason, and act to solve real-world problems in travel and transport. We’re not another “move fast and burn out” shop. We believe peak productivity comes when humans have psychological safety, time to sleep, move, eat well, and be understood. That’s the culture we’re building. We don’t believe in overwork or equating hours with outcomes. What matters is results tied to business and customer outcomes—nothing else.
Though this role is remote, we prefer someone to be in Boulder, CO and come to the office 2-3 days.
What You’ll Do
• Build the core systems that power travel search, booking, and management.
• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services in Go/Golang with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Integrate with GDS, NDC, and other third-party travel APIs, handling search, booking, and post-booking workflows for flights, hotels, and related services.
• Apply strong engineering principles (modularity, testing, error handling, monitoring) to ensure resilience against external API dependencies.
• Collaborate closely with product and leadership to ensure backend capabilities align directly with customer and business needs.
• Document key decisions and integration approaches, ensuring clarity for current and future teammates.
• Take full ownership of outcomes in a startup environment: small team collaboration, rapid iteration, and shipping usable systems.
• Work in a lightweight agile framework shaped by your input (no dogma, no purist process), with daily stand-ups and project coordination between you, the COO, and two other engineers (frontend and backend).
• Take strategic and product guidance from a cofounder who will be in-office.
• The COO supports your growth and ensures you have what you need to succeed, while the cofounders focus on product excellence.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong, validated expertise in software engineering with expertise in shipping production systems from beginning to end.
• Deep expertise in Go/Golang with a demonstrated 3 years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and microservices.
• Experience working with databases, especially MySQL.
• Proven ability to pick up new technologies quickly and apply them pragmatically.
• Ability to turn messy, ambiguous problems into solvable projects, with clear scoping, regular updates, and visible progress for stakeholders
• Excellent communication: clearly defines projects, can explain assumptions, trade-offs, and progress clearly.
Bonus Points
• Prior experience with travel and/or GDS/NDC.
• Familiarity with Vercel, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Experience in high-growth startups. • Previous founders or founding engineers We don’t believe in overwork or equating hours with outcomes. What matters is results tied to business and customer outcomes—nothing else.
Compensation and Growth
$150,000 + Equity (.1%-.75%) Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance + Dependents

Who Are We?
Legacy is a non-custodial, one-click DeFi wallet with Inheritance feature that makes wealth management in digital assets as simple as logging into your bank.
Legacy allows you to swap across chains, earn yield, buy tokenized stocks and protect your wealth for generations to come - all in one place.
No gas fees. No seed phrases. No transaction signing. Just simple, non-custodial, borderless finance.
Legacy is an early stage startup that was born because our sister company’s Decentralized Masters users asked for a solution to their everyday problems with crypto. Decentralized Masters is the fastest growing education company in the crypto space - scaling from 2 founders to 120+ people and on track for $50m in revenue this year. Now we’re distilling everything we learned about user habits, adoption and their problems into a single product: Legacy.
This is an opportunity to join the core team of 5 with an impressive track record, pre-funding that is already generating revenue.
Our Edge
Fintech in the front, blockchain in the back. We believe the next wave of adoption won’t come from Metamask-style extensions - it will come from products that feel like modern finance apps that are powered by web3 beneath the surface.
User Distribution
Unlike most crypto startups fighting for the same users, we already have a built-in distribution channel of non-crypto investors through our sister company, Decentralized Masters - thousands of people learning about digital assets for the first time and choosing Legacy as their main wallet. The same team that build Decentralized Masters from $0 to $80m in total revenue is now bringing that marketing machine to Legacy.
Our Vision
Our goal is to become the top 10 brand in the industry by creating the largest DeFi ecosystem the world has ever seen. People who have never used DeFi because it’s too complicated are now earning yield and their assets are protected by the Inheritance feature for the generations to come.
Are You Ready?
This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of Web3 technology and onboard billions of people to DeFi. Are you ready to be part of our vision to redefine what’s possible in DeFi and beyond? Apply below, and let’s explore this journey together.
What Will You Be Doing?
As our Full Stack Developer, you’ll be a core part of a mission to reimagine crypto asset protection and estate planning. You will lead the charge on building end-to-end features, with a sharp focus on frontend brilliance and backend excellence. You’ll collaborate across design, product, and marketing teams to deliver an intuitive, scalable, and revolutionary product.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Development:
- Build robust APIs, server-side logic, and database schemas.
- Implement secure systems for authentication, encryption, and private key management.
Frontend Integration (Your Stage — Your Domain):
- Create sleek, responsive UIs with React that feel magical to users.
- Translate design mockups into pixel-perfect components.
- Drive innovation with a React-first mindset.
Web3 Implementation:
- Integrate blockchain functionality using libraries like Ethers.js, Viem, Wagmi.
- Support smart account and wallet functionality, including gasless transactions and smart contract interaction.
DevOps & Testing:
- Write unit/integration tests and optimize app performance.
- Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and deploy across cloud platforms.
Collaboration & Strategy:
- Partner with other teams to align features with product vision.
- Influence technical architecture and contribute to roadmap planning.
What Will You Bring?
Experience:
- 3–5+ years in a React-heavy role with strong full stack experience.
- Proven track record building React apps that follow best practices.
- Exposure to or interest in Web3, wallets, passkeys, account abstraction technology, and smart contract integration.
- Bonus: Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
Education:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred — but a strong portfolio and real-world impact matter most.
Skills:
- Back-End: Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, REST, APIs.
- Front-End: React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Figma (UI/UX handoff).
- Web3: Ethers.js, Dynamic SDK, ZeroDev SDK, Viem.
- Tools & Systems: Git, CI/CD, AWS.
- Soft Skills: Proactive mindset, clear communicator, ownership mentality, eagerness to build something world-class from scratch.
What Do We Offer You?

- ✈️ Team off-sites and retreats (we’re big on connection)
- 🚀 High-impact role in a fast-growing company poised for unicorn status

We are looking for a full-stack engineer. However, “full-stack” can mean a lot these days, so here is what we’re looking for specifically:

Our app uses all of the standard Rails goodness you know and love, as well as a lot of additional tools for design, business logic, and background jobs. If you like to learn new skills, you’re going to fit in really well.
Javascript: Our front-end relies heavily on Javascript. We currently have a mix of core features written using vanilla ES5 and React, but are focusing on ES6 and React for all future front-end work. We are looking for people with a strong working Javascript base who want to keep finding and working with the best new tools.
Testing: Is testing a natural part of your process? If so, you’ll be appreciated here. We are actively building out our test suite and providing ample team resources to make sure that everything we create is tested and rock-solid. Our test suite uses RSpec for most of our Rails work.
Other Web Tech: We use git for source control, Slim for our view templates, lightly customized Bootstrap for our CSS, MySQL and AWS. If you’re really passionate about some new technology, we’d love to hear about it.
While we appreciate applicants from all backgrounds, Buildout is unable to provide visa sponsorship (including H-1B, OPT, or other work authorization) at this time.
