What we are Doing:
We are building two interlinked products: a crypto-native synthetic dollar (USDe) and an Internet Bond (sUSDe) accruing rewards via a delta-neutral derivatives portfolio.
We believe creating a synthetic dollar which is not reliant on existing banking infrastructure is the single most important problem to solve and the largest opportunity in crypto today.
USDe will form the first part of a broader ecosystem of products we are building including fixed and floating rate Internet bonds and composable repo markets.

The Role
Ethena has quickly established itself as the fastest growing and most innovative financial product utilising digital asset technology to date. The Head of Trading Technology will own the entire trading technology stack, responsible for the overall strategy, development, and maintenance of Ethena’s trading platform. Which sits at the heart of, and powers, its flagship products: USDe & sUSD.
The role reports directly into the CTO, and includes leading a small team of trading technology engineers, collaborating with stakeholders in Trading, Risk and Ops teams. This role demands a hands-on leader with deep understanding of building trading systems. You’ll both guide your team and take a lead role in development.

What We’re Looking For
- Engineering Leadership in Trading Technology: Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams within trading tech environments such as Investment Banks, Trading firms, Exchanges, or Market Makers.
- Extensive Experience in Trading Systems Development: Track record of building and supporting trading infrastructure from the ground up, including market data feed handlers, algo engines, backtesting frameworks, and execution platforms.

Position Summary: The Lead Software Engineer is the technical leader of a small team focused on building and maintaining a software platform to manage auction business. # Introduction
We are a SaaS ticketing platform that is very excited about the future. Coming out of the pandemic, we completed an exciting evolution of our platform. This involved moving from a traditional RoR architecture to a modern "single page application" (SPA), exposing our application as a set of APIs consumed by Ember to provide a rich interactive experience.
Completing this work has allowed us to focus on new feature development. We have already seen the benefits of the new platform in terms of productivity and speed of rolling out new features.
We want to expand our backend team with new people to cover Ruby and Ruby on Rails server development to accelerate this potential and deliver an ambitious product roadmap. Position Overview:
As a senior software engineer, you will join one of our engineering teams to assist in building and maintaining tools and automation to support our validator operations. We take the upstream node software from projects like Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, or Avalanche; compile it; run it on one of our servers; and then make sure it is reliable and secure, monitor it, and keep it up to date. We do this for more than 60 blockchain networks, which means that it is not feasible to do all of this by hand. Instead, we build automation. Some of the things we do:
- Contribute to upstream software to improve observability, and build monitoring tools from scratch where none exist. The teams that build the node software are not the teams that operate this software at scale, and as such, observability is often not a first priority. We develop our own tools for on-chain and off-chain monitoring, both for short-term metrics (to alert on) and long-term metrics to measure our performance, and to support optimisation decisions.
- Build tools to track and manage our fleet of servers. We work mostly with bare-metal servers across multiple providers. This means that no vendor-specific portal is going to give us a complete overview of our infrastructure, instead we have an in-house tool that integrates with vendor APIs and gives us a central overview.
- Automate machine provisioning. Instead of working with 10+ cloud and bare metal providers’ flavor of installing Ubuntu, we build our own installer that is uniform across our infrastructure.
- Track and automate builds. Each of the 60+ networks we operate regularly releases updates. It would be tedious to manually git pull && make for every release, instead we have automation watching for new releases that automatically builds them and registers them in our package registry.
- Automate updates and failover. When we have a new package, we still need to roll it out to our fleet and restart any nodes, in a controlled manner and without downtime. For validating nodes, we also need to fail over before we restart them, and confirm the new node is healthy. To automate this, we need to have 100% confidence in our tooling, because a mistake here can lead to double-signing, which incurs a financial penalty.
- Automate snapshot creation and storage. Blockchains node software is stateful in nature: the chains are often terabytes in size. While it is possible for new nodes to sync from the p2p network, this can take days to weeks, which means it is not a suitable method when we move workloads between machines. We automate taking snapshots of this data, so we can be more flexible about what runs where, without compromising on security.
Our internal tooling:
It is written in a mix of Rust, Python, Go, and a bit of TypeScript. We use Postgres as our database of choice. We deploy our code either directly onto Ubuntu hosts, running under systemd or in Docker containers, and we also have a Kubernetes cluster running various stateless applications. Due to the erse nature of the software we run, we also have to occasionally e into codebases written in C, C++, OCaml, or TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features. Discuss with internal stakeholders to clarify how our next feature should look, discuss with fellow engineers how it should be implemented, and then drive implementation to completion.
- Support and collaborate. Review and discuss engineering designs, review code, help fellow engineers, and mentor them on a technical level.
- Innovation and continuous improvement. Seek to simplify, optimize, and secure our staking services and systems.
- Take part in on-call rotation approximately 2 days per month. You will be responsible for automation that manages our validators and infrastructure, including its uptime and incident response.

About the Role: As a Senior Smart Contract Engineer at Steakhouse, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing smart contracts that will leverage and empower crypto-native and real world assets (RWAs). You will design and implement secure, efficient, and scalable smart contract solutions to solve some of DeFi’s and RWA’s most challenging problems. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing new primitives for DeFi in partnership with the largest and most sophisticated capital allocators in the world, to truly scale DeFi globally.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance smart contracts (primarily in Solidity) to leverage - crypto-native and non-crypto-native assets and facilitate complex capital flows on-chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our smart contracts and protocols meet the highest security standards, undergo rigorous audits, and are designed to scale for large capital inflows.
- Take a leading role in shaping protocol-level decisions, introducing innovative features that enhance functionality, security, and accessibility for end users and institutional partners.

What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in blockchain engineering, ideally with another DeFi Protocol with a large user base
- A proven track record of shipping production-level smart contracts, ideally in decentralized finance or asset tokenization.
- Deep understanding of Solidity, EVM mechanics, common smart contract patterns, and familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle, Foundry).
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including threat modeling, audits, and secure coding patterns (e.g., OpenZeppelin libraries).
- Experience with Layer 2 solutions, cross-chain bridges, or zero-knowledge proofs.
