At LaunchBrightly, we are on a mission to automate a process that continually captures and enhances screenshots of all your SaaS product features. The continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline and process that engineers adopted over the last decade, is what we ultimately want to build for customer support teams. TLDR; LaunchBrightly = Github Actions/Circle CI for customer support. And we are currently looking to bring onboard a strong Application Engineer.
Everyone at LaunchBrightly is a creator, an owner, or perhaps better, a celebration of the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. Most big companies are afraid of entrusting the future of the company and their software to a few makers, and as they defend against that, they end up with three layers of managers and a product designed by a committee. We want the opposite. We need the opposite as we enter virgin territory trying to build that CI/CD pipeline and process for the support organization. As our customer pushes a new feature to production, we automatically update all product images within the help center. This is a thrilling adventure!
Our work is remote, not distant. We believe that being a remote-first organization allows us to build an exceptional team composed of makers and sellers with erse backgrounds and skill sets from around the globe. Our default work culture is asynchronous and emphasizes written communication to prioritize maker time, focus and company productivity. Our goal is not to eliminate face-to-face interaction, but we should default to a setting where written documentation is so strong that a meeting on most project subject matters would seem odd.
Founded in 2022, and backed by prominent venture firms including IA Ventures, Tuesday Capital, and B Capital Group, this is a unique opportunity to join this band of misfits on the ground floor. As an early teammate you will be working intimately with the founding team, who has done 0 to 1 five times over while seeing four of them come to an exit.
The Application Engineer will become an integral member of an intimate 9-person team consisting of:
Maker #7 (Application Engineer, You!)
Maker #6 (Melissa, Implementation Specialist)
Maker #5 (Michel, Frontend Engineer)
Maker #4 (Lucas, Frontend Engineer)
Maker #3 (Jose, Fullstack Engineer)
Maker #2 (Hyder, Backend Engineer)
Maker #1 (Dennis, Founder)
Seller #1 (Josh, Co-founder)
Helper #1 (Vibeke)
However, we are looking not just for an Engineer but, rather, a teammate we see as integral to LaunchBrightly’s long-term journey and vital to our success. Someone who is comfortable in the dark and who sees a certain romance, like we do, in embracing the unknowns that come with being on the startup journey. We have a track record of seeing those colleagues who join us on the ground floor of our ventures ride the startup journey to completion (exit) with us, as we grow and become successful together. This is something we take seriously, and something we are extremely proud of!
Job Description
You'll work with Jose (and the remainder of the team) on the logic layer that powers our product: workflows, task runners, state machines, rules engines, and orchestration. You'll work in Typescript directly in the Vue App, and often in JS in AWS Lambda’s, tune our data models, and shape how primary product features like Audits function behind the scenes. You're not building APIs or UI — you're building the actual product behavior. Think of yourself as a Product Logic & State Orchestration Engineer.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who loves building reliable systems that model real-world processes. You’ll work on the internal state machines that govern how screenshots flow through the system, are transformed, enhanced, and delivered. You’ll define rules engines that let non-technical users control automated behavior, manage task orchestration across Lambda and queues, and shape our schema design to handle complex edge cases with clarity and performance in mind.
You’ll thrive in this role if you think deeply about how complex systems behave over time, have strong opinions on data modeling and event-driven workflows, and enjoy writing deterministic, testable, observable logic. If you care more about product behavior than presentation, and love turning business intent into robust execution — this is for you!
We are looking for previous experience working with
Building production-grade B2B web apps, including everything that comes with robust, scalable software: business logic, testing, observability, and performance.
Writing TypeScript in a modern frontend architecture (Vue 3 SPA) and JavaScript in AWS Lambda functions.
Working deeply to create meaningful and maintainable test coverage across core business logic (e.g. Vitest).
Designing and modeling robust data schemas for DynamoDB and GraphQL queries, with a strong intuition for how data shapes product behavior.
Consuming and reviewing internal APIs using Postman, and contributing clear, actionable feedback to improve them.
Implementing Serverless architecture with AWS Amplify, including event-driven flows and task orchestration.
Having a good functional understanding of UI-layer concerns (HTML, DOM, TailwindCSS, HeadlessUI), but focusing your energy on what happens beneath the surface — the orchestration, rules, and workflows that make the app tick.
What you bring to the table
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
A customer-first mentality, with an instinct to imagine how users will react and interact
Strong and precise communication and documentation skills, with a will to understand and be understood
Prides themselves on writing highly readable, thoroughly tested code
The personal organization skills and patience to manage multiple contexts as projects and features come together. A good dev can do things like: juggle tickets and Git branches, keep zero inbox, write notes for themselves to keep their small tasks straight, whip up shell scripts/test data to automate repetitive tasks
A passion for being part of the startup journey and taking ownership of the company’s success
A willingness to take initiative and enthusiasm to make an impact and take action
Thrives in a highly collaborative environment and enthusiasm for being a team player
Bonus point if you
Built Apps on the AWS Amplify (Serverless Design) framework, which is the primary backdrop for our App.
What we offer
Flexible working hours and locations. Your success is measured on outcomes
A culture of NO meetings where maker time and productivity is prioritized
Excellent start-up culture with openness and inclusiveness
True ownership and autonomy over your role and the impact on the company
Prioritization of focus time and productivity
Your choice of technical setup and equipment
Experienced founders with many years of successfully building product across multiple ventures
Annual meetup as a team in New York City.
What to expect in the interview process
Given the remote nature of our work setting, one of the core principles for how we operate as a remote team is written communication. And we therefore run a slightly unique interview process that begins with an email-based exchange to learn more about your background, communication style and overall fit for the role.
Stage 1: You’ll begin with an email conversation with our Co-founder, Josh Peacock, to get a sense of your technical background, written communication, and English proficiency.
Stage 2: Next, you'll have a follow-up email exchange with one of the Makers on our team on a set of more technical questions to get a deeper understanding of your technical knowledge and capabilities.
Stage 3: We’ll then ask you to complete a short technical assignment to demonstrate your practical skills in action.
Final stage: You’ll have two video calls—one with our Founder, Dennis Mortensen, and another with a Maker from the team to give us a chance to connect more personally and explore how you'd fit into the team.

Set up and manage integration with modern LLMs and vision models (e.g. LLaMA, Mistral, SDXL), including support for fine-tuning and local deployment.
Build and maintain user-facing tooling: CLIs, lightweight GUIs, and APIs that make the device intuitive for developers and AI teams.
Make architecture decisions for system orchestration, hardware interfacing, remote update pipelines, and telemetry — all optimized for stability and security.
Help set up GPU drivers, OS configuration (e.g., Ubuntu, NVIDIA stack), and optimized inference runtimes as needed.
Collaborate with the founding team to test and iterate with early business customers.
Contribute to hiring and scaling the engineering team over the next 12 months.
🧠 You Might Be a Fit If You

Are comfortable working across the stack — from OS-level setup and deployment to user-facing tools.
Have experience with containerization, system packaging, deployment tooling, and managing model runtimes.
Have worked with, or integrated, LLMs and ML models in real-world systems (e.g., inference, fine-tuning, embeddings).
Can independently drive architecture decisions and own large pieces of product infrastructure.
Thrive in ambiguity, learn fast, and are passionate about building great tools from scratch.
⭐️ Bonus Points
Experience with GPU computing, NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, or model acceleration tools.
Familiarity with ML tooling: vLLM, Ollama, Triton Inference Server, LangChain, etc.
Comfort with Linux system internals, remote access tooling (e.g., SSH, Ansible), or auto-update agents.
Previous experience with AI developer tooling, embedded systems, or secure local apps.
🌍 Why Join ModelVault?
Help define a new category: secure, local AI for everyone — starting with businesses, expanding to the world.
Work on real, shipped hardware + software that users will touch.
Be part of the founding engineering team with high autonomy and deep ownership.

About Raiku
Raiku is reengineering blockchain infrastructure from first principles to make global digital markets as precise and dependable as physical systems. Built on Solana, our platform delivers deterministic execution, guaranteed inclusion, and low-latency performance—solving the foundational failures that cause transactions to miss, trades to revert, and systems to collapse under pressure. By placing high-performance compute close to where transactions happen and coordinating execution through our advanced scheduling engine, Raiku empowers developers to build scalable, high-performance applications—and gives institutions the reliability and control they demand. We believe financial infrastructure should behave like physics: fast, reliable, and predictable—every time, without exception.
Research Engineer (Solana/Rust)
We’re seeking a passionate Research Engineer to drive protocol-level innovation on Solana. As the ideal candidate, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with scientific curiosity to:
- Lead technical discovery initiatives focused on Solana’s runtime, consensus, scheduler, and networking layers
- Conduct performance modeling and develop validator-centric architecture solutions
- Identify and address complex edge cases in transaction handling across production environments
- Translate research findings into actionable protocol design improvements
You’ll collaborate directly with our CEO, CTO (your manager), protocol architects, and key Solana ecosystem contributors to shape validator economics and transaction lifecycle guarantees across the Raiku stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and model Solana’s core architecture — deeply understand and document Solana’s runtime, scheduler, consensus, Turbine/Gossip, and transaction pipeline, with emphasis on edge cases under network stress or validator misbehavior.
- Lead internal research on validator economics and incentive alignment — explore impacts of Raiku’s slot marketplace, Ahead-of-Time (AOT) block auctions, and inclusion guarantees on validator profitability and slashing risks (e.g. under SIMDs 0096, 0123, 0212, 0228).
- Design bandwidth and blockspace pricing models — define and simulate pricing mechanisms for Raiku’s primary and secondary slot markets, ensuring validator rewards and application inclusion needs are economically aligned.
- Prototype system-level experiments across the Raiku and Solana stack — evaluate performance, liveness, and correctness when integrating Raiku’s ackermann-node and sidecar into Solana validator clients (e.g. Agave, Jito).
- Develop proofs-of-concept for transaction lifecycle primitives — such as pre-confirmations, slot reservations, and proof streaming for large bundled state transitions.
- Research and benchmark global account models — test interaction models across multiple VMs (e.g. SVM, EVM, MOVE) and assess state determinism and composability in high-throughput environments.
- Contribute to the design of Raiku’s protocol-level mechanisms — including builder commitments, proposer formats, MEV mitigation strategies, and slot slashing logic under failure modes.
- Author technical deep es, simulations, and RFCs — serve as a knowledge base for both internal and external stakeholders across Raiku’s validator, capital, and app layers along with wider engineering and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with external researchers and validators — especially those running testnet sidecars or participating in bandwidth resale to ensure safe and performant mainnet integration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical background with strong system-level experience
- Proven open-source engineering background, evidenced by contributions to major blockchain or distributed systems repositories — ideally within the Solana ecosystem.
- Involvement in protocol research, MEV, performance tuning, or client implementations
- Experience designing proofs-of-concept for novel execution or slot-inclusion logic
- Familiarity with zero-knowledge proof systems and state settlement patterns
- Active presence in relevant research circles, Discords, or open-source forums
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working with Rust in production (preferably in core systems or blockchain contexts)
- Deep familiarity with Solana’s source code and protocol-level architecture (runtime, scheduler, consensus, networking)
- Demonstrated ability to reason through complex distributed systems
- Experience modeling and explaining performance bottlenecks in real-world validators
- Ability to read protocol proposals and specs and convert them into actionables (e.g. implementation paths, test harnesses, edge case coverage)
- A deep design philosophy focused on deterministic execution and reliable system behavior
- Strong communication skills and clarity in technical writing
What We Offer
- A chance to join a category-defining protocol team pushing the frontier of Solana infrastructure
- Token upside and a key role in shaping Raiku’s ecosystem footprint
- Remote-first team with async workflows, a high ownership culture, and deep technical curiosity
- Competitive salary, token allocation, and performance-based bonuses
- Budget for travel, ecosystem events, and home office setup

Our clients include BitGo, Copper, Crypto.com, Ledger, ByBit, Bitget, OKX, HTX, Bitvavo, SBI, and others, who choose us for our client-centric approach and extensive product line from unified API to widgets and custom dApps.
We are also actively expanding our product line, exploring RWA, data, yield, and service products for banks, exchanges, custodians, and wallets.
