What we're looking for

doola is seeking a strategic and results-driven HR Director to lead our people function during a pivotal phase of growth. This will be our first dedicated HR hire, with unlimited room for impact and growth. As a function leader, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's culture, developing and executing HR strategies, and ensuring alignment with doola's mission and business goals. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, wants to roll up their sleeves and do the tactical work, demonstrates excellent leadership capabilities, and has a passion for building high-performing teams and fostering an engaging workplace.

What you will do

* Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that supports doola’s growth objectives, aligns with company values, and fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration.

* Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing guidance on organizational structure, talent development, and change management.
* Oversee all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
* Lead strategic workforce planning to ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
* Oversee the recruitment process for all roles, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
* Drive initiatives to enhance employer branding and position doola as an employer of choice in the industry.
* Champion a values-driven culture that promotes employee engagement and high performance.
* Design and implement programs that enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
* Conduct regular employee engagement surveys and use insights to drive continuous improvement in workplace culture.
* Ensure HR policies, practices, and programs are compliant with local and international labor laws.
* Oversee the administration of employee benefits and compensation programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with company objectives.
* Maintain HR systems and processes to drive efficiency, data integrity, and confidentiality.

Who you are

* 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in a high-growth or startup environment.

* Deep knowledge of U.S. labor laws and global HR best practices, with experience managing HR across multiple geographies being a strong plus.
* Experience managing a global workforce of both employees and contractors
* Proven track record of designing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that drive business outcomes.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, driving alignment and accountability across erse functions.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
* Comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.
