We’re Charlie, and we’re on a mission to equip thousands of startups and ambitious small businesses to deliberately craft their culture every day.

Charlie builds progressive HR solutions for startups and ambitious small businesses to successfully manage their teams and intentionally craft their culture.

We’re looking for a growth marketing manager to join our growing marketing team – and help CharlieHR accelerate revenue growth and market share acquisition

Come on and join us to make work better!

< class="h3">What is a "Title/Level"?

We have a career progression framework that includes Inidual Contributor (IC) and People Manager (PM) tracks. IC1 is a junior growth associate, IC4 is a senior growth manager, and IC levels 2 and 3 cover that middle area.

< class="h3">In this role you will:

As a growth marketing manager your responsibilities will be to:

  • Create and refine a single, cohesive growth strategy (i.e. a clear articulation of the inherent advantage in our business or disadvantage in the market, which we will exploit to acquire market share at our desired rate)
  • Create and execute a plan for translating the growth strategy into effective tactics
  • Create/administer structures and processes for keeping disparate activities focussed on our strategic goals (e.g. project management)
  • Create/administer structures and processes for keeping disparate marketing activities running efficiently (e.g. automation rules, list management and segmentation, ads campaign management)
  • Oversee, optimise and administer our marketing tech stack (e.g. CRM, marketing automation platform, CMS, analytics etc.)
  • Manage the relationship with cross-functional teammates, so we can effectively execute growth strategies across departments
  • Create and continually refine a data-driven view of how activities across different departments complement each other in driving growth
  • Establish and oversee an experimentation programme, which includes (but is not limited to) conversion rate optimisation on our website, and is focussed on new customer acquisition
  • Create/manage the technical setup required to measure key growth metrics (across sales and marketing)
  • Create/manage dashboards and systems for regularly and saliently reporting key metrics to relevant teammates/the leadership team

Requirements

You must have:

  • Experience in a high-volume, SMB-focussed, software-as-a-service (SaaS) business
  • Experience owning and hitting a commercial growth target (e.g. a revenue number or user acquisition target)
  • A multifaceted understanding of marketing—spanning strategic fundamentals like the 4 Ps and market segmentation, as well as modern tactics like conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g. spanning product, sales, marketing and development)
  • Experience managing and optimising advertising programmes
  • Experience overseeing a marketing operations programme and tech infrastructure (i.e. tools and processes spanning automation, analytics, reporting and so on)
  • Strong quantitative reasoning and data analysis skills
  • A strong understanding of research methods and approaches
  • A deep understanding of SaaS metrics (e.g. unit economics and pirate metrics)

Let us know if you have: (all of these are desirable, but none are required)

  • Experience in the HR or people-related software industry
  • A formal marketing qualification
  • Any programming skills (in particular HTML, CSS and SQL/Python/R)
  • You have ever launched a side project or company of your own

We will still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the above requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them absolutely perfectly!

This is a permanent full-time role. We cannot offer visa sponsorship and you must be able to work in the UK.

  • 30 bookable "nomad working" days outside of the UK in any timezone each year
