The insurance industry continues to struggle with harnessing the available risk and peril data to profitably underwrite business. Property insurance in particular is a major source of losses and premium leakage. Plus, there is a missed opportunity to engage policyholders and agents to better manage property risk. Betterview synthesizes all available property and peril data to help insurance companies profitably underwrite business, and engages policyholders and agents to manage risk.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the VP of Sales, you will help the sales team execute deals and ensure the achievement of sales targets quarter over quarter. The expectation is that you will work closely with the inidual Sellers to refine deal strategies and tactics to win business, take a true interest in developing the team, and proliferate our collegial culture. We are looking for a person that is interested in being in the details of each deal and being a catalyst for growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Delivering and managing to quarterly and annual sales projections.
  • Continuously working on deal strategy with each Seller.
  • Establishing a set of KPIs for Sellers and monitor them daily to immediately identify when performance is not up to expectations and work with inidual Sellers to resolve issues.
  • Conducting weekly 1-1’s with each Seller on inidual deals, deal strategy, overall performance, and career development.
  • Ensuring the adoption of our sales process across the sales team including deal execution at each stage and ensuring executive involvement when needed.
  • Ensuring adoption of our sales stack including SFDC, Gong, and other tools.
  • Providing a safe and trusting environment for Sellers to share feedback on challenges they encounter
  • Providing feedback on inidual sales meetings via Gong. And establish a feedback loop with the Sellers on applying that feedback with the CRO.
  • Preparing and running forecast reviews as well as quarterly business reviews.
  • Working with the Sellers and the executive team to develop and drive key sales strategies or initiatives.
  • Establishing a sales playbook, both for enterprise and SMB.
  • Continually improve our sales processes and sales stack.
  • Harnessing resources from across the organization e.g., product, marketing to help win business.

  • Create a personal relationship and become a trusted resource for each Seller.
  • Take the time to listen, strategize on deals, and help overcome obstacles for each Seller.
  • Maintain a development mindset with each Seller to maximize their success.
  • Strike a critical balance between coaching and holding them accountable.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR COMPANY

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of sales management experience at a SaaS company with proven experience of exceeding forecasts, enforcing processes, and team development.
  • Working knowledge of the Property & Casualty Insurance industry affords the candidate an advantage of being successful in the role.
  • Background in the SaaS market including novel technologies.
  • Experienced with SFDC, Gong, and other leading sales tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Has managed their own opportunities and served as player/ coach with sales team members
  • Moves with empathy and compassion to their team, colleagues, and customers, and treats the team as the professionals they are.
  • Has an established reputation as a leader who is respected both by management and other sellers
