We are looking for a talented Manual QA Engineer who will take ownership of the quality of our software suite. We want someone who will investigate our system to uncover weaknesses and flaws. This is an integral part of our development team. As part of an Agile development team, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining product test manual strategy and process for Patriot.

Requirements

  • A degree in a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Entry level experience with test case development
  • Exposure to software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Ability to document test steps and results in a detailed and understandable manner.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail (looks for ways to improve/promote quality).
  • Takes ownership of tasks, independent actions, and calculated risks (asks for/offers help when needed).
  • Ability to put success of team above own interests.
  • Openly collaborates with team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Gives and welcomes feedback. Share expertise with others.

This position is open to all candidates who legally reside and are eligible to work in the United States. This position is currently not open to applicants in the following locations: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Washington D.C.

< class="h3">Here’s what you’ll be doing
  • Work alongside the development team to understand requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Identify, analyze, and document all issues found; recommend fixes/improvements.
  • Manage manual, regression, usability, and exploratory test suits
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to convey that to team members
  • Enthusiasm to dig into the product and troubleshoot issues
  • Informs team of progress, roadblocks, and issues
  • Identify areas of the software that are deemed critical to ensure test coverage is created
  • Provide defect traceability and root cause analysis
  • Perform deliverables tracking and reporting
  • Monitors progress of testing efforts within the teams to ensure deadline are met
  • Develop metrics and reports to effectively communicate test status during the testing process

Working hours are established by each team and department based on business needs. For this role, it may require, at times, additional support past 5 pm EST Monday through Friday.
