About Us: At Fuel Web Marketing, we specialize in building high-performing websites and digital experiences that fuel our clients' growth. Over the past two years, we’ve developed an extensive library of designs, and now it’s time to take the next step: creating a unified, reusable design system that will drive efficiency and consistency across all future projects.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in responsive design and design systems to join our team. The components you create will be the foundation for scalable, user-focused designs that will later be coded into HTML and integrated into our Jekyll-based static site generator workflows.

What You’ll Do:

  • Audit and analyze existing designs and projects to identify reusable sections, patterns, and components.

  • Design and build a responsive design system, ensuring that every component works seamlessly across a variety of screen sizes and devices.

  • Develop wireframing kits, autolayout templates, variable components, and a scalable asset library for use across our team.

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure that design components translate smoothly into clean, efficient HTML for Jekyll-based projects.

  • Create detailed documentation and guidelines to ensure consistent usage of the design system across all projects.

  • Train and mentor the team on how to use the design system effectively, fostering a culture of scalability and consistency.

  • Ensure the design system adheres to best practices for accessibility and web performance.

  • Stay current with design trends, responsive design techniques, and tools to improve the system and team workflows.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience building responsive design systems in a professional setting.

  • Strong expertise in responsive design principles, including fluid grids, flexible layouts, and media queries.

  • Advanced knowledge of design tools like Figma, with a focus on creating scalable, reusable variable components and autolayouts.

  • Experience collaborating with developers to translate designs into code, with knowledge of HTML, CSS, and static site generators (like Jekyll).

  • Ability to define and document scalable workflows for both designers and developers.

  • Strong sense of UI/UX best practices, including typography, spacing, color theory, and accessibility.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience training teams on design system usage.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with static site generators (Jekyll preferred) and front-end frameworks.

  • Understanding of SEO best practices and their impact on design.

  • Background in UX research or usability testing.

Why Work With Us?

  • Build a foundational design system that will impact all future projects and shape our team’s design process.

  • Work with a collaborative, innovative team dedicated to creating beautiful, high-performing websites.

  • (Add specific perks like flexible hours, professional growth opportunities, or exciting client work.)

How to Apply:

Send your portfolio and a brief introduction from our careers page. Be sure to include examples of responsive design systems you’ve built and explain your role in their creation. Bonus points for demonstrating how your designs have translated into clean, functional HTML.
