We are an engineering team of multicultural, highly collaborative, fully distributed, humble learners. We pride ourselves on building best-in-class products powered by innovative technologies.   The core of CaptivateIQ is its calculation engine; every piece of data and every formula entered by our customers ultimately passes through it. It needs to be accurate, transparent, and performant at scale. As a member of the Worksheets and Calculations team, you’ll be responsible for elevating this to the next level of user experience on the front end. The Worksheets and Calculations experience is central to the CaptivateIQ commissions platform and as an engineer on this team, your contributions would directly affect how our platform will scale over the long term.   Some of the things we’ve recently been working on include a complete overhaul of how our users chain calculations together to form complex compensation plans, a rebuild of our core execution engine giving users more functionality, and a more flexible formulas experience and performance optimizations by using vectorized calculations.

  • Build and architect a modern web application from scratch using the latest frontend technologies
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate ambiguous product requirements into delightful experiences
  • Mentor other engineers on the team in their approach to clean, well-crafted frontend code
  • Collaborate with backend focused teams to ensure CIQ is building robust and scalable API’s
  • Iterate on agile team processes to deliver with high velocity and accurate timelines through technical designs and best practices
  • Work with engineers across the company to develop at scale

< class="h3">Requirements
  • 4+ years experience in a software engineering role
  • Strong command of frontend web development, including React and css-in-js
  • Strong social and written communication skills
  • Strong interest in taking responsibility and ownership over core product areas
  • Collaborative, humble, learner with a strong growth mindset

< class="h3">Bonus Points
  • Experience working with Typescript, PWAs, react-native, and/or Next.js
  • Experience evaluating different technologies and choosing the best one for the job
  • Experience building and evolving frontend architectures
  • Experience in building or augmenting a design system
  • Expertise in web best practices and performance optimization techniques
