About the Role

Casetext is seeking an experienced back end software engineer to join our innovation department. In this role, you will work on some of our most complex technical challenges, exploring the frontiers of what is possible with large language models. The Innovation Department works with other groups within the company to identify their hardest-to-solve technical problems and pushes the cutting edge of technology to solve them. We also engage in some basic research. This role is entirely remote, but you must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S.

As the Software Engineer, Innovation Department You Will:

  • Develop robust and scalable back end services and applications that use large language models
  • Work extensively with large language models, developing techniques to improve our capabilities in natural language processing and machine learning
  • Collaborate with other teams and other members of the innovation department to identify and pursue promising new approaches to solving technical problems

About You:

  • At least 3-5 years of production level experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer at a SAAS Startup or tech company
  • Very proficient in Python with recent experience
  • Demonstrable track record building features and products from ideation to release for products with strong product-market fit
  • Experience working with large language models
  • Full-stack engineering skills preferred
  • Prefer experience in a previous R&D role, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Salary Range: $150-$175k (total compensation)
