Director of Sales Development

Location: Remote – US

The Director of Sales Development leads a team of 6-10 Sales Development Representatives who currently work remotely. Most will be located in our New York Office when we return to work. As the Director of Sales Development, of the team, you will be responsible for leading this dynamic team – driving outbound meetings and qualifying inbound leads; generating meetings and discovery calls for our Account Executives with the goal of building high-quality pipeline opportunities. You will also be responsible for their career developing, holding regular 1:1s,, team meetings, and performance conversations with your team and executives.

The new Director of Sales Development will:

  • Hire, train, and manage a team of Sales Development Representatives in our NYC office
  • Shape our sales development strategy and growth: implementing new tools, processes, and content to improve effectiveness
  • Report on sales activity and provide forecasts to senior sales management
  • Develop the reps personally and professionally, and provide the guidance they need to reach the next step in their careers
  • Lead Sales Development meetings and role-play sessions with the team
  • Advise reps as they formulate messaging and execute prospecting campaigns to secure new meetings
  • Identify high potential SDR candidates
  • Onboard and ramp new team members into high performers, grooming them for career growth
  • Collaborate with marketing leads on lead generation campaigns
  • Act as the critical link between the field and the SDRs and provide updates from regional team meetings
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to ensure the customer journey and our account based marketing approach is optimized

Your skills and experience:

  • 3-7 years of successful experience leading and managing a high-performing sales development team for a technology company
  • Consistent record of managing teams of 5+ reps to exceed performance goals
  • Successful personal sales track record in an enterprise focused sales environment, preferably at a SaaS company
  • Proven ability to hire, develop and retain talented and motivated people
  • Strong track record of managing daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly objectives
  • Exceptional skill in lead qualification, advanced outbound prospecting, buyer persona messaging and overcoming objections
  • Outstanding communicator (verbal and written), organized, with exceptional time management skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com required; proficiency in Outreach or Salesloft strongly preferred.
  • Experienced with account based marketing required
  • Proficiency in navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales at large enterprises required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to work in New York City on a regular basis preferred
