We are seeking an Engineering Team Lead with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products and delightful user experiences. You empower the world to invest fearlessly by leading a customer obsessed team of engineers to develop innovative and delightful features that power firms across the wealth management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a high performing engineering team to predictably deliver at a high velocity in a continuous deployment model.
  • Creates an environment of psychological safety to facilitate their team’s success.
  • Develops an elite team through recruiting, hiring, retention, coaching, and mentorship. Provides effective and constructive feedback. Manages iniduals to set and achieve ambitious goals that align with company objectives.
  • Holds their team to rigorous standards of engineering throughout the development lifecycle: from production grade architectures, to extensible and maintainable code, to manageable pull requests, to ownership of quality at all levels of the testing pyramid.
  • Continuously and effectively works with the team to improve processes.
  • Proactively identifies and manages dependencies and mitigates risks.
  • Ensures team alignment with company objectives and expectations.
  • Invests in continuing education for themselves and their team to stay at the leading edge of relevant technological advancements.
  • Dedicates ~50% of time to building and delivering high quality features alongside the team.
  • Works with product and engineering leaders to develop product and architecture roadmaps.
  • Drives cross-team collaboration and improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience building web and mobile products in a high-growth business, B2B and/or B2C.
  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering team lead in a fast-growing or rapidly changing technology environment with a proven ability to lead an organization to stellar performance.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with full web technology stack from code (node, TypeScript, go, react) to managed services and infrastructure (AWS, Snowflake, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Experience with microservices architecture and infrastructure technology/services.
  • Working knowledge of the fintech space, including investing and wealth management.
  • Track record of creating SaaS products with customer success and revenue growth.
  • Strong bias for action and ability to balance short and long term strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of the application software lifecycle, including Scrum, Lean and Agile software development methodologies.
  • A collaborative leadership style that brings out the best in team members from erse backgrounds with complementary skills.
  • A builder of relationships necessary to make things happen — across a table or across the country on a Slack channel.
  • You are curious, strategic, independent, and have a track record of holding yourself and those around you to high standards.
  • You love working with people who have different levels of experience than you do, in both directions.
  • You’re happy explaining complex topics to people who don’t share your vocabulary, but need to share your understanding.
  • Proven ability to build high performing teams and motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results in a rapidly changing environment.
  • You have the knowledge and experience to inform and/or help make architectural decisions and define the patterns that lead to scalable app development.
