Title: Senior Product Designer

Location: Remote

What you’ll do:

In a few words

Abarca is igniting a revolution in healthcare. We built our company on the belief that with smarter technology we are redefining pharmacy benefits, but this is just the beginning

Abarca’s product design team drives innovation through the application of exploratory user research, insight generation, business case definition, and user centered product design supported by data. They are made up of innovators and forward thinkers who are in an unrelenting pursuit of a better healthcare experience. They lead us towards #PBMAwesomeness by brainstorming new innovations and improvements, envisioning the future of what PBM can be, and scaling our product and technology offerings with an unrelenting focus on our customers and end-users!

As our Senior Product Designer, you’ll be an experienced contributor that brings a strategic perspective focused on not just how to solve a given problem, but also exploring and influencing what problems to solve. In working closely with design and product leadership, you will be responsible for delivering the best online user experience that aligns with local design decisions with Abarca’s UX strategy and wider product vision, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will be developing ideas using various methods and the latest technology to design graphic user interfaces.

The fundamentals for the job

  • Support the product design team’s current, near, and long-term objectives (ie. now/next/future.)
  • Partner with product management to drive a program of continuous discovery to validate and shape ideas (what to build) and inform the product design and product development roadmaps by shaping a backlog of problems to solve and ideas to test.
  • Facilitate team-wide exploration, testing, and delivery of working solutions (how to build.)
  • Create prototypes, wireframes, task flows, and other deliverables for new product ideas and product improvements based on user needs insight and qualitative/quantitative data.
  • Drive a program of ongoing user research and testing (from usability tests, contextual inquiry, interviews, competitive analysis, and data analysis) to gather feedback to inform a data-driven design process, gain as much perspective as you can before jumping into solutions, and iterate solutions as issues surface.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and plan concept exploration and execution of design activities.
  • Champion of user’s needs regarding how the platform and solution is used and drive collaborative, customer-centric design activities necessary to explore, test, and refine solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers/owners, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions that result in intuitive and user-friendly software.
  • Inform the development of OKRs, the product backlog, and user stories. Track product outcomes with alignment to user experience and overall product/business goals.
  • Own the implementation of design decisions from start to finish in collaboration with other designers.
  • Raise the bar on our user experience through quantitative and qualitative metrics by monitoring the impact of solutions and driving improvement/refinement towards desired outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to more junior members of the team.
  • Pursue continued competence in craft-oriented skills, largely focused on user research, UI and interaction design.
