We’re hiring a new full-time lead designer. Here’s how we define that position:

  • Creates systems of design from scratch, oversees design projects from conception to delivery.
  • Creates on-brand designs starting from the ground up; also edits existing designs and takes initial work to the finish line.
  • Can run point on projects (sometimes with assistance).
  • Helps set and maintain professional standards for our entire team.
  • Makes regular contributions to the look and feel of our own aesthetic and brand.
  • Work doesn’t necessarily need to be reviewed, but general approach may be.
  • Mistakes are uncommon, and rarely need to be pointed out.
  • Likely has at least 5-8 years of experience being a professional designer.

This full-time position is in Lexington, KY. Remote work is acceptable. We can chat about location and workflow.

Schedule is flexible but will typically be M-F during business hours, with flexible work weeks being common. We tackle a lot of quick-paced, deadline-driven work, so we offset that with a flexible, relaxed environment, balancing workflow and iniduality.

Here’s an overview of our employee benefits.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • You don’t have to know everything, but a passion to learn quickly and take pride in your work is a necessity, as well as the ability to thrive in a bustling, team-driven environment.
  • Comfort in making multiple versions of the same design (think different sizes or executions for a campaign, or print/online outlets with different ad specs).
  • Comfort working on digital design, with basic understanding of UI (partial experience is manageable).
  • Understanding of print and web production practices (CMYK vs. RGB, pixels & resolution, aspect ratios and preparing files to print).
  • Keep up with design & industry trends and implement them into our projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to take direction from team leaders and provide info/feedback in a simple, organized manner, across all correspondence.

YOU’LL NEED TO KNOW:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Font Management
  • File Structure & Organization
  • Experience with Figma and Adobe XD
  • Bonus: experience with presentation apps (not a requirement, but we sometimes format content for clients, and it’s nice to know)
