Joining a growing Development ision and working within the Development Operations team, the Donor Services Analyst will have the opportunity to establish an analytic framework for the audience support components of our new NPR Network initiative, alongside data analysis for the work of the NPR fundraising team. Role will liaise both internally to Development and cross-isionally bringing together data and insights in visually compelling and actionable ways. The role will be responsive to requests from stakeholders and provide guidance on additional metrics for success or ways to improve and understand complex data sets. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in reporting on fundraising success, bring a creative and open mind and have experience building buy-in from various stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary focus on fundraising analytics; analyzing performance of revenue lines and donor trends to inform strategy
  • Establish and provide regular cross-platform analytics briefings to a range of isions and leadership to inform how we are tracking to established metrics and KPI’s
  • Lead analysis and insights related to donors and donations to uncover trends and insights in key areas that influence NPR and Member station fundraising strategies
  • Build strong working relationships across fundraising, marketing, digital media, member partnership and audience insights teams to collaboratively define analytics priorities and communicate actionable findings to drive philanthropic success
  • Collaborate with the audience insights team to bridge trends and insights related to how overall NPR digital usage relates to donor and donation outcomes, including:
    • Help NPR deepen relationships with prospects and donors
    • Real-time tracking of giving patterns across digital platforms
    • Guidance and recommendations for improvements across the digital fundraising and annual fund team
  • Creates and maintains functional NPR Development dashboards visible to internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure data quality by following, establishing, and regularly updating quality assurance protocols, processes, and documentation
  • Manage internal stakeholder requests, providing thorough documentation of business requirements, and gathering of project requirements from non-technical stakeholders
  • Liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish the best practices procedures, recommend actionable items to improve data quality for data analysis, and resolve any barriers to the success of the projects
  • Assist in driving the evolution of new data intelligence reporting and visualizations; contribute to new product development and product enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience.

WORK LOCATION: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to generate standard reports multichannel campaign performance and analytic reports with minimal supervision
  • 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit environment with working knowledge of fundraising, engagement and acquisition
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Expert-level knowledge of fundraising CRM’s, preferably Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills, particularly for explaining complex quantitative information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience training non-technical audiences on using analytics tools and dashboards to incorporate data into their daily decision-making processes making analytics actionable
  • Cultivate and promote ersity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Cultivate and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience using the following tools:
    • Google Analytics, Adobe Omniture, Firebase, or similar
    • Social Analytics tools like Facebook Analytics, CrowdTangle, Sprout, or similar
  • Real-Time web analytics tools like Chartbeat, Parse.ly, or similar
  • Experience fetching data using SQL and/or analytics APIs (Google Cloud or BigQuery experience a plus)
  • Experience building intuitive dashboards for users with a wide range of data savviness
  • Experience designing measurement and analytics implementation plans for fundraising campaigns
