Food Tank Social Media Vertical Video Content Creator (Reels/TikToks/YouTubeShorts)

Duration: 5-10 hours per week

Compensation: $150/reel

Location: Anywhere in the U.S.

Position Summary:

To support our mission, we are looking for a creative, self-motivated content creator to help build our presence on social media through TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. This is an exciting opportunity for an inidual looking to create original, engaging content that raises awareness about nourishing, equitable, environmentally sustainable food systems.

The Content Creator will:

  • Pitch and create weekly content for Food Tank’s TikTok and Instagram channels to raise awareness of Food Tank’s 12 core issue areas.
  • Develop innovative ways to translate Food Tank’s programming, editorial, and podcast content into attention-catching fun, funny, and engaging videos.
  • Have the potential to attend, promote, and curate social content at upcoming Food Tank Summits and other virtual and in-person events.
  • Channel the organization’s voice to engage with Food Tank’s audience and the broader food movement.
  • Stay up to date on the latest TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reel trends and use this knowledge to inform posts.
  • Work with Food Tank’s Graphic Designer and editorial team to align on messaging and branding.
  • Pull performance metrics as needed.
  • Communicate weekly social media plans with Food Tank’s team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing high-performing TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram Reels.
  • Understanding of social media best practices as they apply to TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • A passion for building a better food system and familiarity with food and agriculture issues.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with the team as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations a plus.
