Nineveh

In the Nineveh research team, we investigate cryptography developments to make Ethereum a better, safer and more private place. Some exemplary projects we are engaged in are:

• Hybrid proof systems from SNARKs and STARKs. In this project, we combine techniques from SNARKs and STARKs to build hybrid proof systems enjoying the bests of both worlds. SNARKs allow for short (constant-size) proofs and have efficient verifiers, on the other had, they require trusted setup. zkSTARKs are transparent (don’t rely on a trusted setup) and have efficient prover while paying the price of longer proof size (logarithmic to the size of the proven statement) and verifier’s complexity. We investigate use of STARK-related primitives like FRI to give zkSNARKs more efficient provers and reduce security assumptions used. In the nearest future we plan to implement our hybrid schemes to show the world concrete efficiency gains our approach brings.
• Secure storage for mnemonic keys. The common problem of using secret keys is that they may be stolen or lost, causing for example, losing access to staked funds. Here, we build an application that allows users to securely distribute the key into so-called shares such that only large enough set of the shares can be used to reconstruct the secret and someone who knows too few secret’s shares learns nothing. We achieve that by using Shamir’s secret sharing scheme. Importantly both the secret and the shares are represented by easy to remember mnemonic.
• Security analysis of proof systems. In this project, we analyse security properties of existing zkSNARKs to verify whether they are sufficiently secure for such a complex environments that blockchains are. To that end, we use provable security methods. Additionally, we analyse existing zkSNARKs and name their security gaps. We show where efficiency-oriented efforts make proof systems unusable due to security vulnerabilities.
• Towards more efficient and secure polynomial commitments. Polynomial commitment schemes are going to lay the ground for Ethereum’s data availability in the future. Hence, one of our research task is to investigate novel polynomial commitment schemes that are better than Kate et al commitment scheme in terms of security and efficiency.
• Towards more fair MEV. On of the potential security measure one can take to mitigate malicious MEV extraction attacks is by obfuscating submitted transactions. In this project, we investigate use of privacy preserving tools to assure more fair MEV.

The Role

After strict focus on developing our core technology, Monad blockchain is quickly approaching its Testnet v0 release. Ahead of that launch, we are excited to welcome a Developer Relations Engineer to lead the growth of Monad’s early builder community.

You will take on the critical responsibility of evangelizing Monad’s technology to experienced smart contract developers, explaining Monad’s unique selling points and showing them how easy it is to use Monad.

As the principal liason between builder communities and our engineering team, you will educate builders on Monad’s technology and uncover developer pain points that drive our team’s future priorities.

You’ll determine the most effective mechanisms for educating the community about Monad’s technology - a combination of talks at conferences, blog posts, videos, and documentation.

You’ll grow the Developer Relations team and mentor new members.

Requirements

Required prior experience:

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Prior experience in DevRel for a layer-1 or layer-2 blockchain
• Excellent knowledge of Solidity and Typescript; strong knowledge of what it takes to ship a dapp
• Public speaking/teaching experience
• Technical writing experience

What you’ll be doing

• You’ll evangelize Monad’s technology to experienced Solidity developers, explaining Monad’s unique selling points and showing them how easy it is to use Monad.
• You’ll act as the principal liason between builder communities and our engineering team.
• You’ll develop educational content (blog posts, instructional videos) to teach developers how to benefit from Monad.
• You’ll build Monad’s developer community through discord, livestreams, and events, collaborating with the community team and growth team to host virtual and in-person events.
• You’ll build relationships with other crypto communities, incubators, and university groups. We’ll collaborate through projects like hackathons or events.
• You’ll aggregate feedback from the community to prioritize feature requests and improvements.
• You’ll hire other DevRel advocates and mentor junior members of the team.
• In the early days, your job will be to focus on the most immediate initiatives (evangelizing Monad to experienced Solidity developers), as well as growing the DevRel team.

• You’ll be building a DevRel program from scratch. You’ll have significant responsibility to shape the culture and direction of our effort, and your work will be massively impactful.
• Monad’s technology is unique. We go where very few teams go (rewriting the VM to enable parallelization and other optimizations; extreme emphasis on performance optimization). Salary and benefits

Minimum full-time salary of $150,000 - $200,000. (This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.)

StarkWare is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join their team. This is a full-time position that can be done remotely anywhere in Europe, or the United States.

The role

We are seeking a Front End Engineer with a passion for NFTs and Web 3 to join Monax as we grow our position in the market. You will play a key role in building the Aspen front end, solve challenging UX problems, and engage with external clients on Front End related queries and support.

Aspen is an NFT minting, management and transactional platform, and is built by web3 infrastructure studio Monax Labs. Aspen’s no-code Web3 and legal tools will empower brands, enterprises, creators and enthusiasts to start Web3 businesses on their own terms.

Stack Overview

Your core skills matter more than specific knowledge. Currently we use: Typescript (front end and API), Rust, Solidity, OpenZeppelin, Postgres, React, Kubernetes, Helm).

In this role you’ll use Typescript, React JS, Web3 React, Chakra UI, Recoil and React Query.
