The Technical Sales Operations Manager role is responsible for keeping things running as smoothly and efficiently as possible behind the scenes. This role is crucial to the success of the Sales team, and will provide operational support in other areas. Specifically, the TSOM is responsible for all processes related to KPI reporting, CRM optimization, and improving the sales processes. The goal of effective sales operations is to ensure the effectiveness of the Sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-today sales operations, including keeping database clean, ensuring tools are syncing with each other
  • SFDC-HubSpot data syncing
  • Lead database management
  • Project manage data enrichment (oversee team of 3-5 data enrichers)
  • Write and respond to tickets, delegate tickets appropriately
  • SFDC Gmail plug-in management
  • Frequent trouble-shooting

Areas of Ownership

  • General
    • Provide strategic inputs on the overall efficiency of key workflows
    • Extend areas of contribution to include marketing operations and customer onboarding operations, providing direct support as well as strategic input to increase the overall velocity of the process from marketing to customer success
    • Provide strategic input on the budget allocation to vendors, consultants, and key processes
  • CRM management:
    • Own the relevant tools and their optimization, including SalesForce
    • Identify and implement improvements to process and strategy
    • Project management and oversight for consultants or engineers, including ticket refinement and delegation.
    • Troubleshoot issues and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
    • Trains new sales team members on how to use Salesforce
  • Managing the Sales Process:
    • Make sure the stages of the sales process are defined and that there is documentation for the team to reference, and everyone on the team is clear on the process
    • Ensure that the sales collateral is up to date and accessible by the sales team
    • Fine tunes the above processes, reducing complexity and striving for efficiency and productivity
  • Managing the Sales Data:
    • Manages the lead pool, including lead growth, enrichment, and AE distribution
    • Set up and maintain sales dashboards in Salesforce by rep for accurate real time updates on team members performance
    • Set up and maintain weekly KPI reports

Requirements

  • Must have 5-10 years of operations and sales experience
  • Must have startup experience
  • Must be proficient with Salesforce
  • Is a strategic thinker and quick decision maker
  • Enjoys creating systems, processes, and workflows — and can oversee their success and fine-tune them to ensure their continued success
  • Must be data-driven and can use data to understand and solve problems
  • Must be productive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with ambiguity
  • Understands the difference between good data and bad data and is laser-focused on data integrity
  • Proven excellence in prioritizing projects and meeting deadlines and goals
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytic skills and proficiency in spreadsheets
  • Is happy being behind the scenes and focusing on all the operational issues to keep the team performing at its best
