Technical Writer

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Federal Technical Writer to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Capture and Operations, the Technical Writer will be responsible for creating high-quality, well-structured, and concise written content for technical proposals, pre-proposal documents, and contract reports in the federal market. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information, adhere to federal procurement regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the AI team and technical subject matter experts to gather information and understand complex concepts for the development of technical proposals and pre-proposal documents in the federal market.
  • Write, edit, and format technical content for federal proposals, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with federal procurement regulations and proposal requirements.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear and concise language accessible to a erse audience, including government officials and technical evaluators.
  • Review and analyze technical documentation, specifications, and requirements to understand and effectively convey technical concepts specific to our company and federal contracts.
  • Work closely with the Director of Capture and Operations to ensure alignment with federal proposal strategies, themes, and win themes in the AI industry.
  • Collaborate with the proposal team to develop graphics, charts, and visuals that effectively convey AI and technical concepts in federal proposals.
  • Maintain version control and document management for technical documents in compliance with federal regulations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Assist in the writing of contract reports and deliverables for the Customer Success team in accordance with federal contract requirements, highlighting AI capabilities and achievements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including AI researchers, engineers, and project managers, to gather information and insights for federal contract reports and deliverables.
  • Revise and update technical documents as necessary based on feedback and changes in federal project requirements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with AI advancements.
  • Adhere to federal writing style guidelines, federal regulations, and ensure consistent terminology and branding across all written materials in the AI context.
  • Stay informed about AI industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in the federal context to enhance the quality and effectiveness of technical writing in AI proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or a related discipline, preferably in AI, computer science, or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a federal proposal or technical documentation context within the AI industry.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex AI and technical concepts in a clear and concise manner within the federal market.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in written materials for federal proposals and contract reports in the AI field.
  • Familiarity with federal procurement regulations, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and understanding of proposal structure, compliance, and evaluation criteria specific to federal contracts in the AI industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather information and insights for content development in the federal market in the AI field.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in the AI and federal context.
  • Experience in writing federal contract reports or deliverables in the AI industry is a plus.
  • Experience with graphics or visual design tools for creating visuals in technical documents for federal proposals in the AI context is a plus.
