The Role

As the Head of Product for Payments, you will be responsible for driving and shaping the vision and strategy of this growing product line.

You will lead a team of product managers (and corresponding teams) to ensure the creation of both tactical and strategic initiatives that allow the delivery teams to execute and deliver against the roadmap. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of the payments landscape and a demonstrated ability to bring new payment products and services to market against clear commercial and product outcomes.

Across the product life cycle, we work closely with design, engineering, sales, and customer experience to ensure we go beyond building great products and are solving the right problems at the right times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and ensure a clear vision and product strategy for the Payments product line
  • Anchor the team to product goals and results that align with the strategy and product vision
  • Responsible for overall roadmap alignment across the Payments Product Team, using analytics and data to inform decisions and to set clear priorities for the team.
  • Identify, analyse and propose strategic third-party relationships
  • Perform competitor analysis to determine industry trends and differentiating factors
  • Maintain product development processes from ideation through to post-implementation customer feedback
  • Work with stakeholders around the business to ensure any new products have a viable go to market strategy
  • Gain a deep understanding of Legl’s customers
  • Management and empowerment of a team of Product Managers - including coaching, mentoring and resourcing the team

Requirements

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior product role and experience leading a team of product managers
  • 5+ years Payments and/or Fintech experience building B2B2C products
  • Must have extensive experience in the Payments space across the ecosystem, working with various partners such as PISPs, AISPs and familiarity with different Payment Rails
  • Deep understanding of the broader regulatory context and demonstrates a proven ability to assess the effectiveness of arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight, and control over Payments related Risks.
  • Proven experience of working in a product-led, financial technology environment
  • Motivated and self-driven with a proven track record of launching new products, from idea to launch, in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at organising and leading a Product Team across multiple workstreams with an ability to mentor & develop team members
  • Highly proficient communication (both written and verbal), to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience being a player-coach and are willing to roll up their sleeves as needed to drive excellence within the Product Management organisation
