✨ Our Culture
TL&DR - Pulley is not a good fit for everyone, and that’s OK. This is a bit about the culture of Pulley. We need people who aren’t just interested in working at a startup; we need people who are excited about building a great company. In addition to function-specific skills, here are some traits that enable our team members to thrive:
*
**Ego-less Learner** -- Every day at Pulley, we are trying things that we’ve never done before - sometimes they work; sometimes they don’t. To be successful here, you need to embrace that feeling of ‘being a beginner’ and be willing to accept feedback in stride. \
*
**Less Talk; More Action** -- Everyone rolls up our sleeves at Pulley. If your strength is being the ‘idea gal or guy’ but you don’t create your own slides or write your own code, then we are not a great fit. \
*
**Prioritize ruthlessly** - Our view is that being a [10x engineer](\"https://www.ybrikman.com/writing/2013/09/29/the-10x-developer-is-not-myth/\") is not about writing more code; it’s about making the right decision on what to build. We’re hiring for people who can make the right strategic decisions on where to spend their time.\
We’re also inspired by the culture work done at other companies and plan to develop our own playbook here too. One of the concepts that resonate most with us is the importance of stunning colleagues.
If you like the sound of our environment and you’re passionate about joining a team like the one we’ve described, we'd love to talk!

🚀 About Pulley
Pulley's mission is to make it easier for anyone to start a company. We believe that more startups should be created, and that founder-led companies are more successful in the long term. With Pulley’s cap table management tools, companies can better understand and optimize their equity for the long term. Starting a company is hard enough. Managing equity shouldn’t be.
We’re a high-performing team looking for passionate, execution-focused, self-starters to help us build equity management tools for founders. Pulley is growing quickly with over 1600 customers including unicorns like Clubhouse, Birdies, Coda, and Fast - all within our first year of product launch. Our trajectory is fueled by top investors like Founder's Fund, Stripe, General Catalyst, Caffeinated Capital, 8vc, Elad Gil, among other great angels. All of our growth has been organic, and we’re growing the team to meet the demand.
🌟 Who We're Looking For
Pulley is looking for a chief of staff who will help scale a fast-growing startup from 5 people to 50 by first filling key roles themselves, building processes to help that function scale, and backfilling for themselves by hiring specialists in sales, recruiting, marketing, etc. over time.
We’re a start-up with big plans, and we need a team member who can be our “glue” -- we’re calling the job Chief of Staff, but we really see it as our very own Organizer of the Chaos; Trusted Thought-Partner; Truth-Speaker; and Execution Extraordinaire. If you thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and hate being told to “stay in your own lane”, then we’re interested in talking with you about this role.
Our Chief of Staff’s responsibilities will cover a wide variety of our growing business areas -- from establishing our initial team operations to lending a hand with customer support, to working on projects with our founder. One of the most exciting parts of our Chief of Staff position is that you’ll be on the front lines of the company’s most critical projects and you’ll have the opportunity to evolve your role and grow along with us.
🛠 Responsibilities
*
Keep Pulley running internally by driving standup and internal meetings. \
*
Drive team momentum and process by managing the weekly sprint process\
*
Onboard and support Pulley users by becoming an expert at equity and cap table management. Overtime help build out the onboarding team and process to scale\
*
Grow the team by running the recruiting process and pipeline. \
*
Build team culture by organizing virtual and in-person offsites\
*
Drive special projects such as partnerships with law firms and integration partners\

*
You have a strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver results\
*
You thrive in bringing structure to highly ambiguous environments\
*
You have experience taking initiatives or products from idea to launch\
Nice to haves
*
You have 4+ years of work experience. High slope new grads are also encouraged to apply if you're up for the challenge\
*
You think analytically and get a kick out of ing into the data and thinking from a first-principles perspective. Engineering or quantitative background preferred, but not required\
💚 Benefits
*
Generous health insurance\
*
Unlimited paid time off\

More about Searchlight
Companies with the best talent win. But the way that companies hire hasn’t changed in decades, and recruiting as a core business function has been largely left behind by technology innovations in other functions like sales, customer success, marketing, etc. Job descriptions are still written in silo-ed documents, recruiting metrics end at time-to-fill instead of quality-of-hire, and we have a devastating ersity problem. While these are big challenges, we see a huge opportunity for Searchlight to own a ton of whitespace in the recruiting tech landscape.
Searchlight's full-cycle talent platform gives companies the right data and infrastructure to assess candidates and scale winning cultures.

The trucking and logistics industry provides the backbone of the economy. But the payments infrastructure on which it runs is broken. For the hard-working men and women of this sector, the existing suite of payment tools is outdated, difficult to use, prone to fraud, and saddled with shady fee structures. The incumbent players in this space often overlook the economic and practical needs of this user base (especially those of smaller companies).
We're changing that. AtoB is building Stripe for Transportation — modernizing the payments infrastructure for trucking and logistics. We aim to center our customers in every way — offering them world-class customer experience and building products that work with and around the unique constraints of their daily lives. We build for fleet managers in the office and drivers on the road. We strive for products that are efficient, satisfying, and useful. We do this because our customers enable our modern economy — they deserve it.

We have raised over $100 million in venture capital from investors such as General Catalyst, Bloomberg Beta, Y Combinator; founders and CEOs of companies like Google (Eric Schmidt), Salesforce (Marc Benioff), Coinbase, DoorDash, Instacart, Mozilla, Wealthfront, Segment, Gusto, Figma; CxOs and founding team members of Uber, PayPal and Stripe; angels like Elad Gil, Naval Ravikant, Gokul Rajaram; and other funds such as Climate Capital, Contrary Capital, Collaborative Fund, Designer Fund, Human Capital, Leadout, XYZ Capital, among others.
Our founding team has backgrounds working on autonomous vehicles at Cruise Automation, leading ops and growth for Uber, engineering at Amazon, building apps that were featured on the Apple app store, working on small business credit at Square & Goldman Sachs, among others. We are excited to open up more seats in this rocket ship!
**Role:**Our BizOps team handles a variety of problem-solving challenges. Expect to own a particular area of our business, collaborate with teammates across Engineering, Sales, Customer Support, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and leverage your analytical toolkit on a daily basis.

Seeking an experienced Research Scientist to lead the design and implementation of systems that rethink and improve the modern networking stack and help us smoothly distribute systems that no one has ever distributed before!
Research at Protocol Labs
This isn't an ordinary Research Scientist position. We are driven by both a hunger to learn and a need to work toward solving important problems. Our research scientists are granted the freedom to develop their knowledge by working on novel applications and the responsibility to contribute those skills toward advancing the flagship projects of Protocol Labs. You’ll feel at home working with us if your knowledge and optimism enables you to name a few unusual possible approaches when you’re first presented with a problem that people often consider intractable.
We understand that networks are more than the sum of their parts. We share a conviction that systems should be decentralized, in spite of inherent difficulties in doing so. We believe that the internet is as important as it is fragile and novel improvements in robustness, resource management and allocation efficiency, fault tolerance, consensus, security, performance, and availability are required to protect and improve it. We built libp2p because we thought IPFS should include a better way of sending data between peers. Now we’re improving our libraries and expanding the scope. As Filecoin grows, we seek a specialist who can help make the networking stack on which it relies as efficient, robust, and secure as possible.
We seek researchers who can discover, conceive, incorporate, and implement novel distributed networks and decentralized systems.
As Research Scientist at Protocol Labs you will…
* Participate in cutting-edge research in computer networks and distributed systems.
* Develop novel systems and protocols, learning from existing ones.* Study potential improvements or new additions to systems like IPFS, libp2p, and Filecoin.* Work with the development team on turning research into implementations.* Quantify performance, security, and other properties of existing and proposed systems; suggest improvements based on the data. You may be a fit for this role if you have...
* MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Programming experience and proficiency in more than one of the following: Go, Rust, JavaScript, C, C++, Haskell, OCaml, Python, Clojure.* Ability to analyze, criticize, and improve the design of complex computer network systems.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Experience contributing to research communities and/or efforts, including publishing conference papers.Bonus Points If...
* You have a record of demonstrating state-of-the-art innovation in distributed systems with a proven publication record or project history. (Potentially including but not limited to distributed data structures, novel network architectures and protocols, consensus protocols, peer-to-peer connectivity, distributed execution, distributed file systems, network optimization, graph traversals, and dynamic network analysis.)
* You’re comfortable digging through new academic literature on graph theory or IETF RFCs for inspiration while problem-solving.* You believe that you don’t really understand something until you can explain it to a six-year-old, and your experience mentoring or writing technical explainers or blog posts demonstrates that you enjoy testing your understanding against this metric.* You’ve demonstrated technical project management skills and the ability to design and execute on a research agenda.* You have experience setting up and managing research collaborations or contractors. What’s it like to work at Protocol Labs?
Protocol Labs mission is to improve humanity’s most important technology, the Internet. We build protocols, systems, and tools to improve how it works. Today, we are focused on how we store, locate, and move information. Our projects include IPFS, Filecoin, libp2p, and more.
As a distributed team, we hire anywhere in the world, and at various levels of experience (entry, senior, staff). We look for people with unique perspectives and erse backgrounds.
We have a great benefits package, including parental leave, contributions to your retirement, competitive pay, and unlimited time off. For U.S.-based employees, we also provide platinum-level health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family.
