🗣 English, Croatian

💰 3.000,00 - 5.300,00 EUR gross

We’re looking for an addition to our Product team who will own and lead the entire design process, from user research to visual design, and work closely with our other teams on designing how Mediatoolkit works. 😊

WHO YOU ARE

You thrive on being able to use your skills to solve customer and business problems in each stage of product development, are eager to get to know the ins and outs of our product and turn its business objectives into UX outcomes. For you, what the customer sees is only the cherry on top of a loop of analyses, tests, designs, and more tests. In other words, you love (collecting, analyzing, and using) data, and know how to leverage data insights to create usable features that map to our users’ goals, activities, and states. You have deep domain understanding, as well as familiarity with a broad range of UX techniques and methods, and you're ready to put them to use as the driving force of the design process at Mediatoolkit.

You have:

  • 3+ years of commercial experience working as a UX or Product Designer - proven experience with designing software end-to-end user experience across different platforms (we prefer web apps/SaaS over mobile/native 😊).

  • Experience working in an agile team environment - you know how to use rapid prototyping, build MVPs with the rest of the team, and help gather user feedback early on.

  • Knowledge of core visual design principles - from layouts, desktop/mobile UI, web typography, and motion, to iconography, colour, brand alignment, visual hierarchy, and grids - you know what these words mean, and, more importantly, you know how these elements affect product function.

  • Proficiency in interaction design and information architecture - multi-step and cross-platform flows, journey maps, user flows, surveys, hand-drawn sketches, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, the works. You’ll work with a lot of feeds, reports, and dashboards, so being able to effectively organize content and navigation on both application and screen level is key.

  • Interaction specifications - in short, being able to effectively organize content and navigation, but in writing. In full, specifying the behaviour of the elements that you created in order to ease communication by documenting your designs and annotating macro and micro-interactions in a clear and concise way for developers and QA.

  • User research and analysis - since you’ll collaborate in user research with our Product Manager, we need experience using a variety of tools and techniques, both qualitative and quantitative (eg. surveys, A/B testing, competitive analysis, analytics data, customer interviews, etc.) Based on your research, you’ll be creating user personas which embody various user habits, expectations, tech-savviness, and goals they are trying to accomplish while using Mediatoolkit.

You may or may not have:

  • Experience working on a SaaS project, and familiarity with standard domain terms, protocols, etc.

  • Figma 💙

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS

  • Familiarity with version control (eg. Git)

  • Familiarity with different UX metrics and frameworks (eg. HEART)

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary agile teams

WHO WE ARE

Mediatoolkit is the company behind a SaaS media monitoring tool that tracks relevant mentions of brands and companies across the web and social media in real time. Our product is used daily by more than 4000 business users in more than 100 countries around the world, and we are growing faster every day. That also means growing our 50+ team of passionate iniduals focused on personal and business growth.

MEET YOUR TEAM - and yourself in it

Our Product team is the largest team at Mediatoolkit, and a multifaceted bunch covering everything from frontend development, quality assurance, and technical support, to product management, ownership, and - you guessed it - product design 😄   The Product team is responsible for the development of the Mediatoolkit web service and the mediatoolkit.com app, which are used 24/7 by thousands of parallel users. Based on the data collected by the Engineering team, our task is to develop a perfectly optimized tool that will be able to display the same data to users, and deliver it in the best possible package which will ensure superior user experience.

So, what you’re actually going to do is:

  • Create Mediatoolkit’s visual and functional user experience from idea to launch in partnership with Product Management, developers, QA, and other teams. You’ll work with our Product Manager to validate and design new opportunities before moving them to development. You’ll be involved in user research from the get-go - from identifying business goals and success metrics, to generating hypotheses, experimenting, and testing.

  • Know the product - you’ll understand its vision and key objectives, and make sure your designs support them, as well as broader product and company vision

  • Partner with other departments and teams - as our Product Designer, you will be working closely with our Product Manager and Tech Leads, as well as other teams, such as Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success. Our Product Manager will present your cross-functional team with a business/customer challenge, and you’ll own the visual interface, while the Tech Leads will own the technical execution of your solution.

  • Not ignore data - we need you to rely on metrics when making decisions; we use tools like Hotjar, MixPanel, and GA to track users’ potential states (eg. errors, successes, dead-ends.)

  • Develop and maintain our design system - create Mediatoolkit’s design system to represent our brand and prioritize brand alignment will be all in your hands.

For now, let’s expand on the advancement bit - if you’re focused on your growth, you may want to know exactly how we approach it at Mediatoolkit.

  • Inidual development plans. Get this: your manager has an annual plan of activities that covers your performance, engagement and satisfaction. You, on the other hand, create a plan for personal development consisting of action steps for getting to where you want to be. Those can be a list of educations, conferences, working with an external mentor, working on a specific project, anything.

  • Educational budget. Now that you have your own plan, it’s time to put our money where our mouth is - we give you the funds you need to attend those conferences, work with that mentor and advance those skills. You know what’s best for your development, we trust your judgment and can’t wait for you to come back upskilled and ready for new challenges!

  • Weekly one-on-one time with your team lead. 'One-on-one time' comes in two forms: 1:1s and Quality Times. Glossary: 1:1, n. = a (bi)weekly meeting with your manager in which you discuss your progress and solve any roadblocks or challenges you are facing. Quality Time, n. = a ‘meeting’ for you and your manager in which you literally spend quality time together - not really business-related, and in no way tied to the office space.

  • Training and development. Mediatoolkit exposes you to different experiences from the get-go, and that's where you grow the most. However, we make sure you know all you need (and want) to know at the right time, and have all the information and skills to handle every new challenge.

  • Feedback culture. This phrase gets thrown around a lot, but not everyone means it or works on it. Well, we do - our managers are continuously trained by internal and external partners in evidence-based feedback practice. We actively create opportunities for receiving, giving and asking for feedback at every turn through platforms, reviews, development conversations, and 1:1s. We make sure you always know what you need to know, and if you ever feel like you need more, that is exactly what you’ll get.

  • Mentorship programs. Knowledge-sharing is something we’re big on every day without having a program in place, but we also have a program in place - just in case! Our MT Mentors program was created to connect those who have a skill to share, and those who want said skill. In short, if you want to become better at X, we will connect you to the person who does X best - and who continuously improves said X through workshops and conferences to give you the best possible picture of X.

  • Mediatoolkit subscription plan for you and an NGO of your choice. We have a hunch that our own tool can serve the purpose of personal and professional development - imagine getting all the news about all the topics that interest you in real time. That’s why each employee gets a premium subscription to use however they see fit. And in the spirit of knowledge-sharing and community, you can also give an additional subscription plan to a non-governmental organization you support and help them make an even bigger impact by getting relevant information.
