How? By reinventing insurance that celebrates people’s mindful choices.   Insurance was fundamentally a brilliant idea, but it always had a key challenge — it couldn’t identify and acknowledge the positive decisions that iniduals made along the way. But when we apply smart mobile technologies, we can. And that’s what we do. We help our customers save on their monthly bill. But more importantly, they join a growing movement of people who dare to live more mindfully because doing so is simply better for everyone.   We’re a well-funded, talent dense team of people who care about using our skills to do good. From data science, to design, engineering, insurance, product, research, user experience and beyond — we believe in people who believe they can make the world even better. Join us, and let’s build the higher path that is HiRoad.

The Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team. You’ll work at the intersection of business, product and the market to solve complex problems and craft solutions for our customers internal and external. Product designers work across all stages of product development—from idea generation, researching, concepting, prototyping, visualizing, testing, analyzing and iteration. You will be responsible for bringing new ideas to life and nurturing them through different stages of the product life cycle.

Your day-to-day:

  • Create visually outstanding products across a variety of common digital platforms (iOS, Android and web).
  • Design user interactions and experience flows including the construction of app maps, site maps, and wireframes.
  • Apply customer-centric thinking and user centered design methodologies to ensure experiences are accessible and based on customer needs.
  • Use data from both quantitative and qualitative sources to ground your design decisions.
  • Maintain a deep and empathetic understanding of the customer, while advocating for customer-centric priorities and experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Product Design function and within the larger Growth team, as well as stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Engineering, Research and Content.
  • Ensure their design solutions fit into the broader customer experience through journey mapping as well as maintaining a holistic understanding of the full customer journey.
  • Create high-fidelity, production-ready product design deliverables in adherence to visual brand language and established design system.
< class="h3">About you:
  • 5+ years of experience in a previous Experience Design role
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Product Design, HCI, Interaction Design or design-related field, or equivalent professional experience and training
  • Comfortable working with consideration and rigor while maintaining the ability to switch to a rapid, iterative approach. Must have the ability to know when each is appropriate.
  • Deep understanding of both visual and interaction design lexicons.
  • A systems level thinker who can work across touchpoints to make cohesive product visions come to life.
  • Experience working directly with engineering and product management to negotiate the tradeoffs between technology constraints, business requirements and customer benefits.
  • Comfortable facilitating design led workshops and co-creation sessions.
  • Ability to define new problem spaces and be a part of discovery efforts when the opportunity has yet to be defined.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey ideas and concepts in a clear and compelling narrative
  • A growth mindset approach: excited to get feedback, not afraid to fail, and eager to be constantly learning and improving
  • Familiarity with popular design tools. Figma, Sketch, Abstract, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace are all staples for us.
< class="h3">Bonus Points
  • Experience defining and sharpening product roadmaps and playing a key role in the product development process.
  • Experience working in a design system environment (even better if you’ve created one)
