UX/UI Designer

MetroStar is looking for a UX/UI Designer that is passionate about serving the end user and implementing federal processes through design. As a UX/UI Designer, you will be a member of an integrated project team supporting the customer’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) implementing enterprise-wide management improvement efforts via SharePoint development. In collaboration with your teammates and the customer, you will work to develop the best possible overall product experience for the user by applying Human Centered Design (HCD) principles for user SharePoint experiences. You will love our company if (this stuff is the MUST have to be a fit):

  • You have 3-5 years of design experience developing UI mockups and protypes, developing, and testing technically feasible UX design
  • You have a portfolio of experience showing UX artifacts across research and architecture, including wireframing experience, and designing MVPs iteratively
  • You have current knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • You have experience working in an Agile environment, confirming design requirements with stakeholders, and ensuring development feasibility with cross-functional team members
  • You have a UX Design Certification

We will REALLY love you if (this is the BONUS stuff that will make you stand out):

  • You have experience with designing for projects and for applications hosted in the cloud
  • You have Human Factors certifications such as CUA, HCI
  • You have experience using Jira for requirements management
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Design, User Experience, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • You have experience with supporting federal government clients

What your day will look like:

  • You will work with a cross-functional team to understand and implement UX/UI strategies for the customer’s SharePoint
  • You will present to the client flows, wireframes, and functional designs, etc.
  • You will lead the design implementation of SharePoint automation updates and improvements
