Dwell is looking for an experienced, thoughtful, and creative freelance UI Designer to join our team.

In this part-time role, you’ll work to design user-centered experiences across our mobile app and website. Our goal is to continue building a world-class, intuitive, and beautiful product that engages our current customers and attracts new ones.

This role reports to Dwell’s Head of Product.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency of UI design according to Dwell’s brand guidelines

  • Translate concepts into Figma wireframes, mockups, and elegant designs that lead to intuitive user experiences

  • Work in Linear, an Agile/Kanban board software application

  • When necessary, collaborate with the Dwell Product Team on Basecamp to ensure projects move forward within budgets and timelines

  • Prepare and present rough draft of designs in Figma

  • Work with Senior Ruby Engineers to ensure that the website is designed and optimized for several devices and presented in an attractive way

  • Work with Senior iOS Developers to ensure great app design within realistic expectations

Must Haves

  • You take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs

  • You are receptive to feedback and implement it in a productive way

  •  You articulate your ideas clearly, both in verbal and in written formats

  • You are capable of owning initiatives and working under limited supervision

  • You are aware of best practices and emerging trends in UI/UX design

  • You should be familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years UI design experience for digital products or services
