The Role

Donorbox is looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer who is proactive and a self-starter, and who will work with our agile product team. The ideal candidate for this position is a senior designer who can take ownership of product design and new feature launches. You'll be using your design skills and creativity each day to bring ideas to life.

As a Product Team UX/UI designer, you will identify and challenge design specification deficiencies while proposing solutions to improve the overall user experience. You will work cross-functionally with our developers and PMs to make sure those features ship seamlessly and on schedule.

You, will be responsible for the end UX/UI design quality, how easily the users can perform their tasks, find elements, and in the end, have a great experience. We expect quality UX/UI knowledge, and someone who is constantly learning. You should know the visual design and interaction rules by heart and produce top-quality designs.

One part of the UX/UI position will be user testing where you will be able to detect the root causes of user behavior, propose UX/UI improvements, and share findings with the rest of the team.

We are a fully remote and agile team. You will join a capable design team and work alongside a global team of marketers, managers, and developers across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Improve our fundraisers and donors' experience UX and UI quality. You’ll own projects from start to finish, leading design initiatives

  • Create interaction prototypes, wireframes, user flows, storyboards, and sketches to deliver beautiful and intuitive products

  • Partner with product managers to help your team develop empathy for our customers and users, and advocate for their needs. Data will be just one of the many tools you will use to help inform your work

  • Create deliverables that inform the vision/path of the task e.g. experience principles, personas, experience maps, task mapping, etc.

  • Collaborate with different disciplines inside your team; you will work closely with engineers, UX writers and product managers to explore, build and ship your designs

  • Collaborate with multiple teams, designing for cross-product, cross-platform foundational features, and workflows

  • Ability to work across a range of UX deliverables, from web app. mobile app to tablet touch screens

  • Actively creating Figma design systems

  • Simplify complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI

  • Good teamwork and empathy

  • Gain and communicate with the rest of the team valuable insights from Hotjar user recordings analysis

  • Create user-centered designs supported by market analysis, data, customer feedback, and user research

  • Initiate user testing sessions to detect the root causes of user behavior and share results with the team

  • Keep up to date with competitor products/features and industry trends to incorporate them into the design process

  • Being a team player, and willing to collaborate with senior stakeholders in your department and the wider business

  • Being passionate about all things UX and other areas of design innovation

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design

  • At least 5 years of experience designing at consumer-focused product companies; experience designing for multiple platforms is a huge plus

  • A strong understanding of user experience, user interface design, design thinking, user-centered design, agile, lean, value measurement, customer outcomes, and emotive design

  • Proficiency in and understanding of information architecture, multi-step and cross-platform flows.

  • Consistently consider the holistic user experience and potential states (errors, successes, dead-ends) in your work

  • Ability to present work, and articulate the rationale for the decisions that led to it

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, whether in one-on-one or group situations.

  • A strong understanding of the vision and key objectives for your product area, taking cues from the design manager, as well as product and engineering leads. You consistently consider how your designs can support that vision, the team's goals, the broader product vision, and company objectives

  • Self-starter attitude that takes pride in excellent craftsmanship

  • Fluent in Figma components, prototype creation, UI kit styles, and workflows

  • Fluent/conversational in the English language

  • Basic knowledge to conduct user research and usability tests both inside the company (talking directly to support, sales, marketing, etc) and directly with our customers.

  • Basic agile scrum process knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of product metrics and other main user experience metrics

  • Ability to work directly with developers during the execution phase to solve UI and usability issues, propose changes, and deal with scope changes.

  • Provide developers with proper assets elements like icons, information for style, etc.

  • Basic coding standards knowledge

Bonus differentiators:

  • Experience with Checkout and Payments

  • Experience with multivariate testing and conversion rate optimization.

  • Experience with mobile apps for Point of Sale & Information Totems

  • Experience with Accessibility standards

  • An understanding of how engineering works, both web and mobile.

Details

  • Remote only

  • European time zone preferred

  • Three months testing period

  • Salary range: $45k-$60k USD, depending on location and experience
