We’re headquartered in Boston, MA, but have a hybrid work model—two days a week in the office and three days from home. We’ve operated this way for the last five years and believe it gives us valuable face-time with each other and more time with our families and friends.

The Role 

As a Lead Designer at Maark, you’ll focus on creating compelling brand systems executed for digital experiences, video, and print collateral across multiple industries. 

What you’ll do 

  • Define, develop, and execute brands, using proven processes to create comprehensive systems that communicate clearly. 

  • Demonstrate business acumen by translating abstract business concepts into visual narratives. 

  • Create visual concepts that tell stories in a variety of media. 

  • Design digital products and collateral that incorporate your visual concepts and illustrations. 

  • Build our brand capabilities, both sourcing and directing freelance designers and illustrators. 

  • Collaborate with team members on defining relevant stories for our audiences. 

  • Present your work to internal and external stakeholders, explaining why your work will be successful. 

  • Give honest feedback to the designers, illustrators, and animators on your team. 

What we’re looking for 

  • You have 7+ years experience building brand identity systems and executing brands across platforms 

  • A portfolio that contains examples of stellar, story-driven brand design 

  • A portfolio that shows your mastery of: 

  • Traditional design skills–typography, composition, balance, layout 

  • Art fundamentals–composition, value, proportion, color 

  • A solid conceptual approach in all your work. 

  • Experience designing for both digital and print 

  • Experience in video production, working with and directing animators to efficiently deliver high quality video. 

  • An advanced knowledge of Adobe CC, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign 

  • Experience building and presenting story-driven presentations in PowerPoint and/or Keynote 

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Figma 

  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of a 3D application, like Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 

Nice to have 

  • Animation experience 

  • Photography experience 

  • B2B experience
