Position Description Summary

An Associate Director in the AACP organization is responsible for working with one or more senior leaders for executing operations that support the operational goals of the group. Associate Directors are responsible for being a part of a positive team environment. Associate Directors are responsible for planning their work with guidance from relevant leaders and then implementing them into the daily workings of the organization. The inidual updates their job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. An Associate Director enhances team performance by ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in their position and accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests from those with whom they work.

The Associate Director of Web Strategy supports the development and implementation of AACP’s strategic plan by promoting and implementing user experience best practices on AACP’s online properties, emails and organization wide branding and design. The Associate Director of Web Strategy also supports the organization through management of creative assets to be used both offline and online.

Essential Functions

Support AACP’s Online Presence (60%)

  • Manage AACP’s website (Drupal)

    • Moderate and approve staff submitted pages ensuring consistent styling and organization while keeping the user in mind.

    • Maintain the image library and keep hero images updated across the site.

    • Ensure website functions as intended and make improvements as needed.

  • Collaborate with AACP staff in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the AACP Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Create and maintain website documentation while also training staff.

  • Review and share website analytics and apply insights towards improvements.

  • Work to continuously improve website through use of various modes of user testing.

  • Manage the creation, launch, and support of AACP’s meetings apps and websites.

  • Work with internal teams to assist in the management of other websites controlled by AACP.

  • Advocate for user experience best practices via empathizing with users and promoting that perspective.

Email Marketing Management (20%)

  • Generate and maintain templates (Informz) geared towards AACP’s various marketing initiatives.

  • Create and maintain email creation and process documentation and use to train staff.

  • Review and share email analytics.

  • Create and maintain interest groups and use segmentation to allow for targeted email sends and give members the option to subscribe to interests/categories of their choice.

  • Work towards implementing marketing automation to improve the efficiency of accuracy of AACP’s messaging to members.

Production of AACP publications, marketing materials and other AACP products (10%)

  • Assist in the design of marketing pieces for AACP and its affiliated brands.

  • Design slide templates for meetings and slide presentations for Communications team initiatives.

  • Source images in stock photo libraries and maintain the AACP font and graphic libraries.

  • Assist Student Affairs by maintaining, improving, and producing new print and digital materials for “Pharmacy is Right for Me” and its associated properties.

Other duties as assigned (10%)

Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or other related area

  • 5 years experience in graphic/web design

  • Experience with designing and building websites

  • Experience with CMS including Drupal and WordPress

  • Fluency with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator CC

  • Strong sense of typography and layout

  • Able to work independently and within teams

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative work style

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
