UX Design Team Lead

About the Position

As a UX Design Team Lead at Flywheel, you’ll lead our bustling and expanding UX team, supporting our cutting-edge biomedical research platform. You’ll be instrumental in shaping end-to-end user experiences, from delving into the problem space to crafting innovative UI designs that breathe life into our products. Your role will involve navigating intricate, data-heavy customer workflows and transforming them into intuitive, accessible interfaces for our erse global clientele.

Responsibilities

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UX Designers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment conducive to creativity and professional growth.
    • Manage team resources, timelines, and priorities effectively to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality design solutions.
    • Effectively communicate processes, design objectives, and team vision as a representative and champion of the UX Design team.
    • Develop design assets for our web application, including wireframes, low to high-fidelity visual design mockups, prototypes, and associated design specifications and documentation.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering and product management to ensure proposed designs align with user needs and are viable for implementation.
    • Conduct user research with stakeholders and end-users to inform your design decisions.

What Would Make You a Great Fit

    • Bachelor’sdegreein HCI or a design-related field, with a focus on user experience, interaction design, visual design, psychology, or similar disciplines.
    • 7 or more years of experience as a UX or Product Designer and 1 or more years of management experience.
    • A portfolio showcasing your methodology and deliverables, highlighting your problem-solving approach. The portfolio should demonstrate expertise in UX/UI design best practices, responsive and interactive design, and how user research informs your designs. Your portfolio can also include management case studies.
    • Experience in usability research, including moderated/unmoderated usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and other research methodologies.
    • Proficiency with contemporary UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD (we primarily use Figma).
    • You’re a naturally curious, humble, self-motivated, and imaginative inidual who thrives in a collaborative yet dynamic startup environment.
