Hack The Box is looking for a highly driven UI/UX designer to design for a multitude of projects. You will join a erse, talented, cross-functional team and deliver thoughtfully crafted products, interfaces, and experiences that solve real problems in the cybersecurity sector. You'll use your wide range of skills and capabilities in UX, visual design, and prototyping to build empathy with users, create and validate solutions that will make an impact on hackers' lives. The most important must-have to be successful in this role is previous professional experience designing complex digital products (SaaS solutions) and collaboration with developers.

Hack The Box (HTB) is an online platform that allows its users to test, train and enhance their penetration testing skills as well as to exchange ideas and methodologies with other members of similar interests. HTB’s community consists of over 1M cybersecurity enthusiasts who use our platform to build their skills in a fun and gamified way. Apart from the community, our b2b solution is used by over 700 corporations, consulting firms, non-profit organisations, and education institutes to train their personnel on cybersecurity.

 

< class="h3">Responsibilities

This position is an inidual contributor (IC) role that reports directly to our Senior Product Designers. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Brainstorming creative concepts with a variety of teams, developing original design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in visual design presentations, and developing design specs for production in the spirit of collaboration;
  • Designing functional and beautiful user interfaces that create inspiring moments throughout the entire hacking journey - from helping hackers connect to their VPN to empowering their skills through gameplay and gamification to bring one-of-a-kind hacking experiences to life;
  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of a scalable style guide and design system that facilitates rapid product development, while ensuring visual and interactive cohesion across products, platforms, and scenarios;
  • Work alongside our UX research team to translate thoughtful UX into clean, on-brand, innovative UI;
  • Support front end development throughout the entire design -> dev -> deployment process to bring static designs to life with pixel perfect precision;
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Product to define features and functionality while working with other designers for feedback and critique;
  • Work quickly and effectively on multiple projects while shipping new features, bug fixes, and small improvements in accordance with our sprint cycles;

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of professional user interface design experience. Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments will be a huge plus;
  • Experience with web and mobile design, user interaction, and an understanding of responsive design best practices across various devices;
  • Excellent visual and interaction skills, with mastery of digital design and high-fidelity prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.);
  • You’re familiar with HTML/CSS (from a perspective of implementation feasibility);
  • You’re a strong systems-thinker who can think beyond pixels and design for holistic user experiences;
  • You have strong storytelling and presentation skills, able to effectively communicate your designs and intent and collaborate with engineers in a remote workplace;
  • You’re data driven and research focused, disciplined in validating design assumptions with real data and user insights;
  • You have excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills; willing to provide and receive constructive feedback as a part of the creative process;
