POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data Automation Manager position is a cross-functional role within the Professional Services team that works across our portfolio of companies servicing the waste industry. This important role oversees the architecture of reliable and scalable data solutions for customer and internal data systems, develops/mentors and trains Data team members, and leads strategic initiatives and projects.

This role will be responsible for addressing business needs, creating a strategy for enterprise data and governance efforts, defining and delivering automation processes to support the business, and transforming the data team to operate the automation-driven processes. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands business requirements and translate to process changes and improvements.
  • Analyzes processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies through automation and process simplification.
  • Identifies opportunities, and works with product managers, to identify improvements for scaling our data implementations and integrations.
  • Works with IT and guides Data Team members to implement automation improvements.
  • Supports team with troubleshooting and solving challenges in automation implementation.
  • Leads the change management of data and processes for successful implementation.
  • Architects reliable and scalable data integrations based on customer needs and internal capabilities.
  • Improves and streamlines customer onboarding.
  • Works closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, Support, Product, and Development teams to identify where the Data team can assist or improve processes.
  • Mentors and supervises Data Team members.
  • Uses Safe FME to architect automated solutions for customers and internal data projects.
  • Documents solutions and training on an internal wiki.
  • Reviews workflows created by Data Team prior to launch.
  • Attends customer calls to assess or identify problems and document solutions.
  • Provides feedback to customers, both internal and external, in a timely manner.
  • Leads data projects and request resources as required.
  • Provides estimates for data team projects, design solutions, track time, and manage the day-to-day workload and activities of the Data Team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including the ability to develop team members, establish a clear vision and priorities, and handle complex scenarios
  • 5+ years experience leading data engineering, software development, and/or product management teams
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/related or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Solutions and Data Tools, such as Snowflake, Salesforce (SFDC), SAP CRM, Outreach, and Oracle Eloqua platform is a plus
  • Strong experience in any process automation platforms such as automation platform such as Safe FME, Alteryx, KNIME, WebMethods, Automation Anywhere and Workato
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Familiarity with JIRA and project management tools preferred
  • Familiarity with a programming or scripting language such as Python is preferred
