The Director of Recruiting leads a team of Technical Recruiters, to deliver highly qualified trainees meeting the needs of our business partners. This position directly manages the Technical Recruiting team, providing procedures aligned with industry best practices, guidance, training, and accountability. The Director of Recruiting monitors, reviews, and analyzes performance metrics to identify recruiting efficiencies, effective partnerships, and opportunities to scale.

Our recruiters utilize various channels to seek out and engage qualified candidates for our Registered Apprenticeship Programs. This position is a remote opportunity within a distributed U.S.-based team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruiting procedures which are aligned with industry best practices to ensure successful fulfilment of client hiring demands.
  • Maintain and grow applicant population within applicant tracking systems to expand our available candidate pool.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with organizations who can provide references to qualified applicants such as community colleges, high schools, workforce boards or otherwise.
  • Maintain effective and current online job postings of all available opportunities through online job boards and partnership outreach.
  • Create and implement effective interview processes to determine candidate’s eligibility and aptitude.
  • Host virtual or on-premise events such as job fairs, webinars, or candidate engagement.
  • Collaborate with Academics, Marketing, Sales and Account Management to ensure a world-class client experience.
  • Analyze performance metrics to accurately advise on recruitment strategy and timeline to deliver qualified applicants on time and within budget.
  • Review daily/weekly/monthly reports and participate in regularly scheduled accountability meetings to monitor functional key performance indicators;
  • Provide cross-departmental updates and reports on recruitment efforts and results.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of Technical Recruiters.
  • Conduct regular calls with each Technical Recruiter to review performance versus goal and to establish action plans to improve performance;
  • Analyze trends to establish strategic and proactive action plans to improve performance where needed;
  • Ensure that direct reports adhere to processes, procedures, and compliance policies;
  • Identify inidual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate inidual, and team development;

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or related field preferred;
  • Proven work experience as a Recruiting Manager, Recruitment Consultant or Recruiting Coordinator. Management experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases
  • Experience with (virtual and in-person) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation
  • Familiarity with social media and other professional networks (like GitHub)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team management skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
