We're looking for a Performance Analytics Manager to join our team. This team leader position plays a critical role in development and execution of performance analytics strategy, delivery of our performance analytics services, and data storytelling to both internal and client stakeholders. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative data strategist, passionate people leader, and hands-on practitioner and brings 5+ years of experience and technical expertise to the table.

As the Performance Analytics Practice Area Leader:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Performance Analytics team; own service delivery, quality, and team structure, as well as team performance, utilization, and growth.
  • Develop departmental and integrated (department's role within the agency) vision and plan(s) to accomplish goals.
  • Drive quality and consistency in team operations, processes, and deliverables through development and ownership of SOPs, templates, process mapping, and similar documentation. 
  • Define and scope performance analytics services to support client strategy and goals, estimate required level of effort, and manage work assignments to maintain a healthy level of team utilization.
  • Ensure cross-functional understanding of performance analytics services and value.
  • Lead the fulfillment of current/upcoming analytics obligations.
  • Work with key stakeholders (department leads, new business team, client account management team) to catalog, package, and sell performance analytics services.
  • Work collaboratively with other value delivery team members to support proper performance analytics setup and data collection for measurement of paid media, SEO, CRO, and other relevant integrated marketing strategies.
  • Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert on the performance analytics landscape, evolving strategies and approaches, and best practices, both internally and with clients.

As an inidual contributor:

  • Develop client performance analytics strategies providing creative, effective solutions to challenging business problems. 
  • Deploy and maintain tracking code for clients using Google Tag Manager (or other tag management solutions) and troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.
  • Audit both strategic and technical aspects of client analytics setups; document and implement analytics solutions & updates.
  • Perform thorough QA on work completed by other team members.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and data visualizations, applying best practices and leveraging a erse range of platforms.
  • Draw actionable insights from performance data and develop/present strategic analytics recommendations to clients.

Required skills and experience:

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and collaborations skills and the ability to successfully navigate ambiguity.
  • Ability to influence and inspire trust among team members and internal and external stakeholders.
  • High degree of comfort in client-facing situations, including participation in the sales process as a subject matter expert.  
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics role in an agency environment, preferably with at least 2 years of direct team leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience (certification preferred) with each of the following platforms:
    • Web analytics platforms, including GA3, GA4, Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics, Webtrends, and Funnel Metrics (experience with GA4 implementation required)
    • Google Tag Manager (and other tag management solutions)
    • Google Data Studio/Looker Studio, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI
    • Google Optimize
    • Segment
  • Experience with advanced analytics, such as: 
    • Custom Segmentation
    • Multi-channel funnels
    • Multi-variate testing for creative, incrementality, conversion optimization, and other performance areas 
    • Deriving insights from large data sets using BigQuery
    • Data ingestion and manipulation working with large, complex datasets and dimensional and relational databases
    • Deployment of predictive modeling, machine learning, and other advanced technologies to drive actionable marketing insights (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in applicable development languages:
    • Advanced SQL/Python
    • JavaScript (including GA.js, analytics.js, jQuery)
    • VBA / Excel Macros
