Are you a creative Visual Designer who wants to work on a meaningful product? Someone who likes to take initiative but knows how to work in a team, too? MapTiler is stepping up to a new level, and we are looking for a senior Visual Designer to refine and advance our visual identity.

Our products are used by some of the best cartographers on the planet, help manage humanitarian crises, forecast global weather, monitor historical sites, map out planes or Swiss trains and much more. Whatever the subject is, we make sure the “where” question is always answered. Our maps are part of apps and websites created by companies and iniduals from all over the world. **WHAT YOU WILL DO

**

• Visuals for communication and marketing: social media, blog posts, newsletters, campaign graphics and illustrations, web pages & documentation etc.

• Visuals, UI design and illustrations for our products and our maps.

• Develop and maintain brand guidelines and identity.

All your activities will lead to a more coherent visual experience across all our communication channels, adhering to the company’s brand standards.

**WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

**

• 5+ years of proven experience in visual or branding design.

• Strong visual design skills (typography, layout, iconography, color theory, etc.).

• Visual storytelling skills - craft visuals that convey a clear message and evoke emotions.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in order to achieve optimal results.

• Ability to present and support design decisions.

• Strong verbal and written communication in English.

• Collaborate with team members from marketing, web, product & design teams to understand project requirements and goals.

• Managing expectations and adapting designs based on stakeholder feedback and evolving requirements.

• Acknowledge trends, but prioritize timeless quality output.

• Strong attention to detail and focus on high-quality output.

• Proficiency with tools from Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Serif (Designer, Photo, Publisher) and Figma.

**NICE TO HAVE

**

• Experience with UI design, motion design or video editing. 

• Experience with working in 2-week sprints in an agile environment.

• Familiarity with web accessibility standards.

• Can conduct basic research like competitor analysis.

• Familiarity with content management systems.

• Experience or interest in cartography.
