< class="h2">Build a culture that’s changing the face of the web. < class="h3">About Gatsby

Gatsby began a few years ago as a wildly popular open-source project that helped developers build lightning-fast websites. Just this year, we launched our Cloud offering and already have signed awesome companies like New Relic, Doordash, and Ripple. We have incredible momentum heading towards 2022 and are excited to be at the cutting edge of the web.

As a remote-first, community-focused team, Gatsby’s core values include:

  • Prioritize the customer
  • Expect excellence, have empathy
  • Take ownership
  • Grow through inclusivity
  • Collaborate by default
< class="h3">Why we’re hiring

Gatsby went from 0-60 in just the last few years. We’re ready to grow even more and are looking for someone to help us accelerate that growth! Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys the search for the ideal candidate (so meta). From fine-tuning your LinkedIn recruiter search parameters, to reviewing erse profiles, to reading between the lines to see someone’s potential, to articulating why Gatsby is the best place to work—you leave no stone unturned in your quest to find the next Gasbyte!

This will be a 3-month contract averaging 10 hours a week with the possibility of renewal.

< class="h3">Details of the role
  • Type of Work: Part-Time, Contract
  • Location: Fully remote (preference for North or South America)
  • Hourly Rate: $35 an hour
< class="h3">Why this is interesting

Because we’re rapidly developing our product and growing our team, some people say Gatsby is almost a different company every 6 months. This means you’ll always be learning a ton and working on a lot of different roles. You’ll get to continually iterate on the sourcing process, experiment with creative communication, advocate for candidates, and likely have way too much fun.

< class="h3">What you’ll be doing
  • Team up with hiring managers and our Director of Recruiting to better understand our target profiles and then strategize the best methods to connect with our ideal audiences.
  • Build a network of potential candidates. You’ll source extensively (we use Gem/LinkedIn), leverage job boards that focus on connecting with marginalized communities in tech, and persuasively share why Gatsby is a great place to work. In other words, you’ll spend a lot of your time on LinkedIn Recruiter, generating boolean search strings, and writing eye-catching messages to potential candidates!
  • Continuously iterate the recruiting process so Gatsby has the best candidate experience people have ever been through. You’ll be the voice of our candidates, helping us to continually improve our process. You’ll also consistently share sourcing metrics and report on effective strategies.
< class="h3">What we’re looking for
  • Previous technical sourcing experience with a track record of finding and converting software engineers.
  • Highly collaborative, with a proven track record of partnering with hiring managers and recruiters to understand the needs of the organization and identify those who can best support it. Our team is fully remote, so keeping stakeholders informed at each stage of the process is critical to our team’s success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an appropriate blend of professionalism, empathy, and friendliness.
  • An advocate of ersity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and a champion for equitable and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Highly organized, especially when it comes to maintaining recruiting tools (our recruiting stack consists of Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Gem).
< class="h3">The best parts of this job
  • Every team prioritizes hiring at Gatsby. Interviewers submit their interview feedback on the same day they interview a candidate. Hiring managers are responsible for scoping roles, writing high-quality JDs, planning interview purposes, etc. You will have true partners in every process.
  • The People & Operations team is very high-performing. We all trust each other to do amazing work and are each other’s best advocates. We like each other a lot.
  • Gatsby pays well, hires remotely, has great benefits, makes a compelling product, and has lots of kind and smart people. All of these things give us a leg up when recruiting.
  • Gatsby is a fully distributed company, so you’ll recruit talent from all over the world. This privilege allows for a product and culture strengthened by the different backgrounds & perspectives of our teammates.
< class="h3">The worst parts of this job
  • Things at Gatsby move fast. You will need to switch directions frequently and roll with the punches. If you like being comfortable and don’t like surprises, this will not be your happy place.
  • Things don’t ever seem to slow down. You’ll get excited we only have a couple of roles open and then BOOM, five more pop up.
< class="h3">Equal opportunity statement

Gatsby is an equal opportunity employer and we acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all iniduals. We commit ourselves to creating and maintaining an environment that respects erse heritages and experiences, and seek applicants of erse backgrounds and hire without regard to race, color, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, physical abilities (or disability), age, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Headhunters and recruitment agencies may not submit resumes/CVs through this website or directly to managers. Gatsby does not accept unsolicited headhunter and agency resumes, and will not pay fees to any third-party agency or company that does not have a signed agreement with Gatsby.
