About the role

Outlier Ventures is seeking a Token Design Associate to help its growing portfolio of Web3 startups to design token economical systems and execute effective token sales and distribution events.

You will oversee the end-to-end execution of token ecosystems from start to finish, leveraging in-house specialists and a network of partners.

As part of the Token Economies team, you will build on the several years of experience Outlier has developed in token design and token engineering, catering to the nuances of a given project and evolving research in designing of complex token systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Assist portfolio companies through conceptual phases to break down their product, ecosystem and objectives.
• Analyse stakeholder maps, economical value flows, potential behaviours, motivations and incentives and turn this into a systems design backed by underlying tokens.
• Develop roadmaps, audit, and design economic and governance systems together with in-house specialists.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an excellent understanding of layer 1/2 blockchain technology, smart contracts, DeFi, metaverse and the variety of existing token standards, models (e.g. xToken, veTokens etc.) and distribution mechanisms (e.g. dutch auction, lockdrops etc.).
• Must have personally been actively using dApps and DeFi protocols and experienced with token minting, burning, yielding, farming, staking and locking.
• Good understanding of the NFT world, various gamification mechanisms and financial principles.
• Be able to comfortably handle fast paced, multi-stakeholder projects, keeping founders and their partners to schedule and hands-on support in executing with diligence and pragmatism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on crypto media relations, owning a network of crypto media contacts and influencers to consistently land coverage that tells the Alphabook story and increases community engagement.
• Work with social media managers to generate social content that will drive communications.
• Plan social content and maintain a content calendar
• Work with the Marketing team to develop and execute the Alphabook’s community communications strategy.
• Alphabook channels, including Instagram, Twitter, Discord, Facebook and Telegram.
• Monitor overall marketing strategy by overseeing social media campaigns
• Monitor graphic designs
• Post daily across all platforms
• Up to date with crypto, sports and casino news

Skills / Competencies Required:

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of crypto communities and blockchain technology 
• Existing network of blockchain media contacts and influencers

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Smart contract team to develop and build secure core smart contracts.
• Plan and work with other teams to integrate protocols into the system.
• Review and contribute to technical/system designs & meetings, perform code review.
• Research and write technical details about other protocols to integrate them into our system, especially other AMMs, and keep up-to-date with Solidity, development and testing tools.
• Brainstorm and ideate on new protocol designs.
• Engage with internal and external auditing teams and implement feedback.
• Help Research team to evaluate the feasibility of any scaling solutions and problems.
• Training other members to improve the team’s competence and influence others.

Requirements

• Over 3 years experience in developing and releasing secure and production smart contracts in Solidity with over 4 years of professional dev experience.
• Good logical thinking and problem solver interested in building complex smart contracts (experience auditing smart contracts is a plus).
• Have built and released production contracts with holding significant amounts of funds.
• Strong knowledge of the Ethereum Virtual Machine and other EVM-compatible networks, DeFis and other Web3 ecosystems.
• Can collaborate fluently in English with other teams.
• Experienced managing a small smart contract team (3-4 members), familiar with planning and delivering on multiple overlapping projects spanning several months.

The Role

As a member of the Cloud team you will deliver new software in Rust, Typescript, and Go and deploy it to AWS, CloudFlare, GCP, and others.
