What are we building?
We are building a small, bootstrapped company that creates the best in class food tracking and sharing application. We need a designer to help us take our very ugly, boilerplate design and help us craft the most usable food tracking application on the market. We need help with branding and product design.
If we can find a designer who can do the design, and also code the HTML and CSS in our Elixir application, that's even better!
We are a small company focused on food tracking and sharing food with those you love: If you have used the current tools on the market for tracking what you eat they have a few things in common:
- Very focused on weight loss
- Not social, at all
- Almost all of them have taken venture capital funds. They need to bring large returns to make it worthwhile for their investors.
- Very messy databases. You’ll find about 50 results for each item you try to track. Navigating those is very difficult.
We are trying to build a tool that solves a narrow niche:
- We are not focused on weight loss. We are focused on deliberate, purposeful eating
- We are going to stay small. We want to build a product for a subset of the overall market. We want to create the most streamlined food tracking experience on the market.
- Focused on social interactions. Food is at the heart of most social events, and some of our favorite memories. We want people to share the food they love with the people they love and build their community.
- A focus on creators. We don’t have more details to share than this right now, but we are going to try to be create the best platform for creators on the market.
- Our goal is to make a product that is so good at the problem it is trying to solve that people happily pay for it.
A little about you
- Experience creating and building a brand
- Demonstrable experience building for a variety of platforms (mobile and web)
- Rich experience in TailwindCSS
- Ability to ship meaningful work in a short time frame, so we can collect user feedback and iterate
- Thinking in systems: This first hire will help us design our logo, branding, and overall design. We need to build a strong foundation while keeping a bias to shipping and getting feedback
- Availability: We need you available for at least 20 hours per week. We have been shipping at a fast pace. We want to continue that cadence and release our new designs after about six weeks of working together.

We are all expert Zoom navigators, and love the freedom of working from anywhere, using technology to connect.
With Zipline, retail employees feel more connected, understand the role they play in the brand’s mission, and can feel good about the work they’re doing. This is important to us because retail is one of America's most populous workforces but also one of the most underserved. Through Zipline, we can touch on one in four American workers whose jobs and needs are often underrepresented.
We have made incredible progress but changing the industry is hard. We are well funded by leading venture capital firms like Emergence Capital and ready to scale. We need your help to improve the way that this 4.4 trillion dollar industry communicates with its store employees. Cumbersome, slow, and inefficient systems should not be the status quo. Striveworks: Better Models, Faster
The world has looked to data analytics to bridge the gap between floods of data and the struggle to use that data effectively to make timely, impactful decisions. Today, most organizations are awash in analytics that aren’t quite right models that were developed too generally, or too slowly, to be effective in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Striveworks is simplifying MLOps with a powerful and extensible platform that instantiates the data analytic process as code.
Striveworks is trusted by leading Fortune 500 firms as well as leaders in the public sector as a primary solution for managing model development, monitoring, and governance and ensuring those models solve the real challenges their organizations face.
Striveworks’ Chariot platform enables users to turn their own production data into models and turn models into production systems. Uniquely, as you train, test, deploy, and use models, our lineage system enables you to track not only the upstream provenance of model and data sources, but also the downstream usage of the resultant model inferences. Combining this with a principled experience for data and model development, Chariot gives our customers in highly regulated industries an unmatched governance solution over the top of a performant MLOps platform.

Hello :)
I’m Richard from ANNECTO (our url is www.annecto.com)
The project
— Web design for the first iteration of a website.
— This iteration is fairly minimal. You’ll see the pages and elements in a figma file linked to below. The site should serve as a good base to expand from: we’ll later add a blog, resources, other pages, etc, etc. But for this project it’s just what you see in the figma prototype.
— In case I need to make any changes to the specification (e.g. content changes in the figma prototype): I understand that you might need to adjust your pricing.
Our company and our audience
– B2B. We provide technology products to the Telecoms industry. You can consider Vodafone as a typical target customer. Our website needs to appeal to people both on the Business side in the target company, and people on the Technical side.
Look and feel
– This is a clichéd word to use, but ‘professional’ – it’s B2B. BUT we do want something uniquely ‘us’ – ‘uniquely ANNECTO’. You’ll have some thoughts on how to achieve this; but here are some points about that: we don’t have time to do a custom video underlay for above the fold. There might be limited scope to do illustration. Also take a look at the ANNECTO logo – maybe, for example the ‘A’ shape of the logo can lend itself to inspire the design, and help produce an ‘ANNECTO look’. Any other ways of achieving something that feels ‘uniquely ANNECTO’.
– Clean, clear, very neat typography, careful, aesthetic consideration of lines, shapes, arrangement of elements.
Assets available from us
— A figma file showing content and elements to be included on each page.
— Our logo in vector format (or another format if you want). Hex value of colour we use for the logo and hex value of secondary colour we use (though you don’t need to stick with the secondary colour). Name of font family we use for many things (though this font may not be the best option for the website – that font can change).
— There is NOT a full brand guidelines document. Sorry, we don’t have time to do it at the moment — we just need to get a website done in time for an upcoming event.
— Diagrams that we use to illustrate our products (there are 4 diagrams, one for each of 4 products). I’ll give you these in vector format (.ai or .svg). You can change the colours and other things if you want, if it works better within your design.
— Custom icons we use for our products (in vector format). However, these are not great icons. You can do different ones if you like.
Here’s the figma to show you the content
What we need
– Design files of the pages shown in the figma prototype. So these include:
—-– Homepage
—-– Product page (each can use the same design; but the A-SHIELD product page has a slightly different need, repeating the layout in its first section instead of having list items.)
—-– Contact page
– Design files to cover the different screen sizes. (We don’t want the developer to be left making design decisions.)
– All other elements that will not leave the web developer making design decisions. For example, button states, behaviour of the burger menu.
– Stock images tend to look like stock images, so I don’t want to fill the site with stock images. However, if you find something appropriate, then please include in the layout and tell us where we need to get the image from.
– As far as possible, visual elements should feel custom. If you have scope to do nice custom icons or something a little diagrammatic or illustrative, and if it’s a vector thing, please also send the vector file in the delivery.
Info from you before we start the project
— Link to your work (on dribbble if your work is here)
— How do you prefer to deliver design files? (psd/pdf // figma // webflow // something else)
— How soon can you work on this? And when can you deliver it?
— Cost.
— Any questions or suggestions you have.
— This project is for design. But if you work with a developer you can also give a quote for development if you like.
Got questions?
Message me :)
Thanks.
