We’re so deeply tired of YouTube and social media videos about email that cover the same old topics in the same old ways.
At GMass, we never do anything unless we can do it in a different and better way than anyone else. That philosophy on the product also extends to our content.
So now, we’re looking for someone who can take a fresh approach to videos.
We’re hiring a video content creator to create engaging, useful, entertaining, and cool short-form videos about all things email and GMass. In this role you’ll come up with ideas (eventually), write scripts, serve as the on-camera talent, edit, and publish the videos — basically, every aspect of the process from start to finish.
This is a contract position with no specific end date; as long as the videos are good, the audience is growing, and the videos are bringing in results, we’ll keep making them.
**Some things to know about GMass
**- GMass is a Chrome extension that transforms Gmail into a complete email marketing platform.
- There are more than 300,000 GMass users; they’ve given GMass an average rating of 4.8/5 stars across 10,000+ reviews.
- GMass has been in business since 2015 and is profitable.
- We’re a small, erse, fully distributed team full of multi-talented people who all do lots of different things.
**Video Content Creator responsibilities
**- Producing and publishing multiple videos per week.
- Coming up with new ideas for videos (eventually… at first we’ll provide topics). This includes an understanding of YouTube SEO and SEO, industry trends, video trends, and competitive evaluation.
- Writing any necessary scripts/shot lists for videos.
- Serving as the on-camera talent. You need to be professional without feeling overproduced or overly scripted, funny, and energetic.
- Setting up necessary recording equipment including camera, teleprompter, lighting, and sound.
- Video editing, including some basic effects.
- Photo editing as needed for necessary images, screenshots.
- Exporting videos into different formats, including YouTube, as well as sharable clips and reels.
- Video publishing, including uploading, writing descriptions, and creating clickable thumbnails.
- Analytics, reporting, monitoring results, and making adjustments based around those results.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, producing on deadline without fail.
**Qualifications
**- Proven experience creating online/short-form videos, in particular in an email/B2B/SaaS context.
- Experience with filming videos, as both on-camera talent and producer.
- Experience with video editing software.
- Experience with screenshot and screen capture software, as well as basic photo editing skills.
- Experience with YouTube SEO and/or generating video ideas based on searches, trends, and data.
**Bonus qualifications (if you have any of these, make sure you let us know in your cover letter):
**- GMass user / GMass product knowledge.
- Experience in the email industry (email service provider, email marketing, cold email).
- Experience growing and scaling a YouTube channel or TikTok/Instagram account.
- Experience in comedy (writing, stand-up, on-camera hosting).
Job Type: Contract
Compensation: $1,250 to $1,600 per week, based on several factors including skill level, qualifications, and location.
Location: This role is fully remote and is open to applicants everywhere. Videos will be in English so native-level fluency in English is necessary.
**To apply:
**- Email us at sam at gm dot ly and include “Video Content Creator” in the subject line.
- Please summarize your experience and qualifications in a cover letter. We will read every single cover letter personally — and at GMass, we always say the cover letter is more important than the resume. So if you have good qualifications but not necessarily email/B2B experience, explain how and why you’ll make the leap into what we’re doing.
- Say something in there to stand out and to make it clear you’re not using AI.
- Include a live link to the one video that will show why you’re a good fit for this job. We're only going to have time to watch one per applicant, so make it count!
- Select candidates will be interviewed. Finalists may be asked to do a (paid) sample project.
