Quartermaster is an agency dedicated to the art and science of Brandcraft, which involves the skillful gathering of market insights and strategic manipulation of creative touchpoints to achieve quantifiable results. Our expertise lies in creative marketing, design, and branding solutions for companies in Food, Beverage & CPG, Music & Culture, and Financial Services & Technology.
What We Do:
1. Product Incubation
2. Brand Creation
3. Brand Transition
4. Brand Expression
From branding and producing campaigns for some of the most influential companies in the world, to leading some of the world’s most iconic live events, we've been at the forefront of brand experience for over 25 years.
We’ve often used the “homepage redesign project” as a testing ground to see if designers could give us that path into a transformed Nextiva. It’s the ‘blank canvas’ approach– if we had to build the website from scratch, what would it look like? How would it feel? Why would a visitor be drawn in?
While this project is fairly open in terms of delivery format, having these elements will be helpful for understanding your creative vision and choices:
Med-Fi homepage design in Figma
This can be a simplified version of a homepage just to get the concept across. Important areas include: really strong hero/above-the-fold, social proof, section explaining the platform, call to action and form.
Feel free to use copy/content/visuals from our current site, but I’d rather see complete freedom in expressing who we are and what we do.
No need for design system creation or compliance
A creative approach that accomplishes goals in service to our brand:
Easier to interact with and understand
Feels less corporate and more real / human
Embraces design in the same way Nextiva thinks… Fearlessly
Is focused on the core value customers get from the platform and our service
Clearly separates us from the pack of competitors
Thought process behind your creative
What have you interpreted about who we are?
How did that unfold into the design language you chose?
What is your concept achieving that our current one does not?
Lastly, some things we need to keep:
Blue is our color. We’ve had several iterations of blue, and plenty of other colors are welcome to join; but we will always bleed blue.
Our logo and XBert icon are locked in place. We have a few iterations of each, but in general, messing with these will cause more friction than opportunity.
I’d recommend sticking with our font, Söhne (test font here). Weights can be used as you’d like, but using this font will help avoid distraction from the rest of the design language built.
Past iterations of Nextiva’s website below. This is less about building guardrails and more about getting into the mindset of what our CEO likes and the willingness to go deep on new explorations.
And finally, some companies we draw inspiration from in their branding/creative (no particular order):
Just to put some boundaries on expense, we could probably aim for this effort to be between 20-40 hours. We can also establish some checkpoints so that we both feel confident the creative execution is going in the right direction– open to however you’d want to structure that.

Hiveon is a product company focused on developing infrastructure for new-era hardware businesses, from mining to energy and AI. Now we are looking for an experienced Brand Designer who will be able to turn the business essence of the company and the products we develop into the most flattering, target-audience-focused, and non-trivial visual form.
About you:
Proven experience working with web and marketing design for digital products.
Experience in taking branding and identity design from concept to final production.
Excellent sense of style, color, composition, typography, and the fundamental knowledge behind it.
An ownership mindset with a focus on business goals.
Portfolio showcasing all the above.
In this role, you will:
Review Hiveon's brand assets, pinpointing areas that need improvement.
Focus on designing user-friendly and attractive websites, along with other marketing materials like campaigns, graphics, banners, email templates, and presentations.
Support website updates, feature launches, and promotional campaigns with design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with business goals and user needs.
About Hiveon:
It all started in 2017 with a pet project released by a few mining enthusiasts. Our Hive OS exploded in popularity, reaching 100k+ active users within the first six months without any investments or marketing costs. We then expanded to an ecosystem, including a Pool (the second Ethereum pool in the world in 2021), ASIC Firmware (a low-level hacking solution to get more out of their devices), and became the leading global platform for mining.
Since 2021, mining has become more than just hardware. And Hiveon - more than just mining. We provide the infrastructure for HPC businesses, helping to build, simplify, and automate operations in the energy and AI markets as well.
Let the numbers speak instead of us:
Geo - worldwide
Released Products in 7 years - 6
Upcoming Products - 2
Active users at peak - 2+ million
Connected devices - 5+ million
Mobile Users - 600,000+
And all this with a team of less than 100 people.
And what do our team says about Hiveon?
“There are no random people in our team, and the environment and culture that has formed within the company inspire and encourages us to get better together and make cool products and solutions,” Hiveon PM said.
“My favorite value, which I always remind my team of, is: don't follow someone, but use different things, try them out, then implement,” Hiveon DevOps Lead said.
"Scale, movement: it's about growing up, honesty and interest;we are interested, we are fired up, and we want to move - we are not bullshitting ourselves, the team, or the market. We make cool things.”
"People, awesome team, everyone is a pro in their field. There is a feeling that you have a reliable rear, everyone will help and guide, there is mutual support at all levels, and everyone is open to communication. The friendly tone of voice: you can convey your thoughts without looking back at who is opposite you: CTO, CRO, or COO."
“Development - I have never grown so much in acquiring knowledge in any company. Knowledge of the domain increases very quickly, and development in the understanding of technologies and the structure of functionality increases. There is freedom to get into any feature and to understand it.”- “Here, any employee can be anyone if they have ambitions. “
Apply if you are ready to take responsibility, move and change quickly, and do things that may seem crazy to others!

【Company Overview】
At Eukarya, we develop and provide a WebGIS (Geographic Information System) platform called Re:Earth(https://reearth.io/ja))
Re:Earth is a next-generation WebGIS platform that combines high scalability with an intuitive user interface. As a browser-based tool, it includes the first-ever "browser-operable plugin system" for WebGIS. Additionally, Re:Earth is available as open-source software (OSS), allowing us to collaboratively build and expand its value with contributors and present our achievements at global conferences like FOSS4G.
【Current Status and Challenges of Eukarya and Re:Earth】
Since its launch in 2021, Re:Earth has steadily grown in demand among businesses and government institutions, securing nearly 200 million yen in orders within its first six months. This growth continues rapidly, with expanding demand and project scale.
Previously, the name "Re:Earth" referred solely to our browser-based visualization tool. However, as we advanced the Re:Earth project, we recognized the need for a comprehensive web-based GIS ecosystem to foster more open GIS and open data applications. This vision, which we now call the Re:Earth Ecosystem, envisions the addition of components such as a high-performance CMS and powerful GIS data analysis and transformation tools in a fully web-based OSS format, creating new possibilities for GIS usage.
Currently, the Re:Earth Ecosystem consists of: Re:Earth Visualizer: our main visualization tool Re:Earth CMS: for data collection, management, and distribution Re:Earth Marketplace: for publishing, searching, and downloading plugins
However, as these tools were developed prior to the Re:Earth Ecosystem concept, they currently lack a unified UI/UX design. To achieve the Re:Earth Ecosystem’s vision as a cohesive platform offering valuable experiences to users and contributors, a solid design concept with a consistent UI/UX is essential.
To further promote the development of the Re:Earth Ecosystem and facilitate meaningful collaboration with users and contributors, we are actively seeking a skilled UI/UX designer with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity.
【Job Responsibilities】
・Product planning, wireframe creation, and UI/UX design for new products
・Understanding client needs and defining requirements through communication
・Collaborating with the development team, sharing design insights, and handling post-development UI/UX quality testing and improvements
【Team Structure】
You will join the Design Team, which works closely with the development team. Team size: 4 members (including members with advanced degrees in design engineering and backgrounds in design firms)
【Position Highlights】
◎Opportunity for Growth in a Rapidly Scaling Environment:
Join us at a stage of rapid growth, both in team size and product expansion, and experience the excitement of scaling.
◎Diverse, International Team:
Work in an international team with erse members from various backgrounds, collaborating on design and development.
◎Unique Opportunities in OSS Development:
Engage in tasks unique to OSS, such as community expansion strategies and UI/UX planning and execution.
【Appeal of the UI/UX Designer Role at Eukarya】
◎Young and Empowered Design Team
Eukarya, now in its seventh year, is a startup developing and managing its own OSS product, Re:Earth. Our design team has an average age of 30, providing ample autonomy and growth opportunities. The new designer will play a crucial role in interdepartmental communication, collaborating across the engineering and sales teams, and participating in every phase of the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for designers who enjoy working collaboratively and are interested in advancing toward roles like project manager or design manager.
◎Cutting-edge Product Development and Design
At Eukarya, we continually adopt the latest technologies, such as WebGL rendering and performance improvements through WebAssembly. We are also planning to integrate AI into future products. While new technologies present unique challenges, we see them as opportunities for growth and innovation, creating a stimulating environment for designers with a curiosity for new technology.
◎High-impact Public Projects
Our Re:Earth platform has been selected as the foundational system for Japan's nationwide 3D urban model project, Project PLATEAU, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. Additionally, we work with local governments to address issues in areas such as disaster preparedness, community storytelling, and urban planning simulations.
