Zipline is made up of a 100% remote team of hardworking humans who value empathy, collaboration, and effectiveness, working across geographies towards a shared mission: to bring retail operations out of the dark ages and give companies effective tools that their employees love to use. You will help improve the way that this 4.4 trillion dollar industry communicates with its store employees and save them from sad, slow, inefficient systems (think fax machines, voicemails, and the postal service). As our Head of HR, you’ll help solidify our people strategy, enhance and develop our (already strong) culture, and build some key HR processes from the ground up. We like to say we’re a retail company in the tech industry, which means we put customer happiness and genuine empathy ahead of all else.
We’re looking for somebody with proven success in high-growth Saas startups and/or distributed teams who don’t mind flexing between strategic and tactical responsibilities on a daily (more like hourly!) basis. - Earns and acts as a trusted advisor and partner to the company and leadership team on all matters related to people and organizational effectiveness
- Help us set up programs and practices that continue our culture of teamwork and empathy

- Develop a budget for culture-supporting activities and ROI (if relevant)
- Help prioritize the importance and cadence we should focus on; separate the critical few from the important many
- Understanding cultural norms, best practices, and traditions, and working with erse teams

Got More Time, here’s more about Zipline!
How do we work? Remotely. We have been 100% remote since the company was founded and we have it down to a science – – a people science. We huddle as a team weekly and as a company 3 times a week. On Fridays, we come together to learn from each other. One week it might be about opossum rescue. Another week it might be an update on our product roadmap or the results of our customer satisfaction survey. We are all masters of Zoom and love the freedom of working from home – – or vans – – or sailboats.
The word is getting out. We are featured regularly in the press, mostly because of the results we get from our customers. Here’s a look at just some of the articles published recently. We also picked up some awards in 2020. CBInsights ranked us one of the 100 most promising B2B retail tech companies in the world. And, our CEO was a TechTrailblazer finalist. (Check out her articles on Forbes to see her passion for retail and solving its biggest challenges.)
We have made incredible progress but changing the industry is hard. We are well funded by leading venture capital firms like Emergence Capital and ready to scale. We need your help to improve the way that this 4.4 trillion dollar industry communicates with its store employees. Cumbersome, slow, and inefficient systems should not be the status quo. Help us retool retail.

Who we are
TeachFX is an edtech startup with a mission of superpowering teachers’ work and advancing equity in the classroom. The TeachFX app uses voice AI to show educators personalized insights about the learning dynamics in their classroom. We help teachers understand which of their instructional practices -- their questioning technique, lesson design, or use of wait time, uptake of student contributions, and other high-leverage strategies -- are making the greatest positive impact on student engagement and equity. We pair our app with inquiry-based professional learning workshops designed to build teacher capacity by leveraging TeachFX data in a continuous improvement cycle that brings research into practice and builds more student-centered classrooms.
We are a fast-growing, mission-driven team and are looking for a People & Culture Manager who shares our passion for student engagement and equity in education. As People & Culture Manager, you’ll be our first dedicated people and culture hire, and will play a critical role in scaling our team and our impact. You’ll report to our COO and will be responsible for building a great team and ensuring that TeachFX is a great place to work with a positive, mission-driven culture. You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities to begin with, and will have the opportunity to specialize further based on your skills and interests as we scale.
We’re backed by best-in-class investors including Ulu Ventures, Newfund, Brighteye Ventures, and Reach Capital. We’ve been remote since the pandemic started and plan to support a remote-first work environment for all our team members for the foreseeable future. We have an office space as entrepreneurs-in-residence at Synapse School in Menlo Park; half of our team is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, while the rest of the team is spread across the country. This role can be based anywhere in the US and will involve limited travel (likely a few trips per year) to participate in company retreats and team activities.
Responsibilities
-
Own the People and Culture function. You’ll lead the development of our People and Culture strategy and will manage all our work across recruiting and hiring, performance management, compensation, internal DEIB initiatives, employee learning and development, retention, and team culture.
-
Lead recruiting, hiring and onboarding efforts. You’ll source strong, erse, values-aligned candidates for a range of technical and business roles, and will be candidates’ first point of contact at TeachFX. You’ll get candidates excited about working here and will guide them through the interview process to ensure they have a positive experience of our hiring process, whether they get a job offer or not. You’ll own the People and Culture aspects of onboarding for new team members to give them a smooth introduction to TeachFX and make sure we’re meeting all of our compliance obligations.
-
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally. You’ll serve as a trusted resource to each person on our team, supporting them in their career development and helping them navigate interpersonal situations. You’ll also work with people managers across the organization to ensure that we’re taking a consistent approach to processes like performance management, professional development and hiring, and will ensure that new managers have the support they need to excel in their roles and build high-functioning teams.
-
Plan and implement team initiatives and activities. You’ll create engaging in-person and remote experiences for our remote-first team that will help team members foster more meaningful relationships with one another and connect more deeply with our mission.
-
Serve your colleagues and the organization as keeper of our culture. You’ll lead by example as you live our values of Service, Creativity and Dialogue. You’ll work with the whole team to understand how folks are feeling at work and how we can better serve one another to ensure that TeachFX is a great and inclusive work environment where we can all do our best work.
Who you are
We’re looking for an experienced, social impact-minded professional with an in-depth understanding of People and Culture best practices. You might be a good fit if you are:
-
Mission-driven. You care deeply that your work is making a positive impact on the world, and you are not content until you are making that impact at scale. You need to work in service of a mission you believe in, and the TeachFX mission resonates strongly with you.
-
A builder. You’re comfortable wearing many different hats and building systems and processes from scratch. You’re action-oriented and excited to create the structures that will position us to quickly scale our team and our impact while minimizing growing pains.
-
Experienced and resourceful. You bring an in-depth understanding of human resource best practices and will leverage your experience in fast-paced, high-growth work environments to figure out what will work best for TeachFX given our team makeup and company culture. You have demonstrated expertise navigating federal and state employment laws and related issues, and when you don’t know the answer, you know where to go to figure it out.
-
A detail-oriented strategic thinker. You prioritize deliberately, communicate proactively, and make sure that both you and your cross-functional collaborators stay on top of important priorities. You’ll contribute ideas for big-picture company strategies, but you’ll also roll up your sleeves to do unglamorous tasks that will ensure we’re working together efficiently and effectively as a team.
-
An excellent communicator. When conflict arises, you know how to listen and talk through it and don’t shy away from tough conversations. You are open and transparent in your thinking and never leave important things unsaid.
-
Service-minded. You do what you do with the goal of serving others, whether that’s helping your colleagues do their best work or enabling educators to grow and thrive in creating better learning environments for kids.
If this is the right role and the right mission for you, please submit your resume and a letter of interest via our online application. We look forward to getting to know you.

About the Role:
The Corporate Recruiter at Clipboard Health is responsible for identifying, communicating, and recruiting candidates for leadership job openings at Clipboard Health. You will work with hiring managers, department staff, employment websites, internal sources, external sources, and candidates to ensure a quick and smooth hiring process for both Clipboard Health, potential candidates, and future team members.
You need to be able to accommodate USA time-zone hours.
In this role I .
- Work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and post job openings on various job boards and recruitment sources.
- Develop recruiting processes to fit the needs of each job vacancy and department need.
- Work with internal team members to identify potential candidates from a pipeline and perform direct outreach to candidates.
- Interview and evaluate potential candidates at various stages through the recruitment process including phone screens, assessment tools, video interviews, etc.

As a top performer, I
- Stay organized. You are skilled at keeping track of a variety of job openings and hiring processes, making sure good and qualified candidates do not fall through the cracks .
- Stay Positive, informed, and polite. A recruiter often is the first point of contact for people who eventually become our team members – it is important to make a good first impression for CBH.
- Stay informed. Many of the job positions you will hire for are technically complex – it takes effort to understand the needs of each role and to accurately communicate them to candidates.
- Stay Compliant. You understand the full range of relevant laws and regulations related to hiring across the US and worldwide.
My Superpowers are…
- Putting people at ease. I help get the best, most complete information out of interviews by making candidates feel comfortable and enthusiastic about the opportunity.
- Getting along well with all kinds of people. I feel comfortable talking to artists, engineers, and everything in-between, and I love working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to make a process effective, efficient, and a positive experience for everyone involved.
- Thinking outside the box. Where a candidate is not a good fit for a particular position, I’m thinking of other opportunities that might be great for them. When candidates are difficult to source, I figure out non-conventional places to find them.
I work with…
- Chief of Staff and the Recruiting Team
- You and the Hiring Managers work together to develop pay scales, build job descriptions, confirm hiring decisions, create offer letters and make job offers to candidates.
- You communicate to accommodate any special needs or information the candidate might have after the hiring process concludes but before employment begins.
- Department Managers and team members
- You work with department managers to determine specific requirements and qualifications for each of the roles needed by the teams they lead.
- You gather all information necessary to create job descriptions, make job postings, identify candidates for outreach, and perform initial interviews.
- Prospective Candidates
- You are the first face of Clipboard Health for each candidate.
Tools I use

- Applicant Tracking Systems (Greenhouse experience preferred).
- GSuite Programs (including but not limited to slack, sheets, and forms).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience hiring for manager and leadership roles across all levels and isions.

- Familiarity with various job boards and applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

If this describes you, and you’re looking to join a rapidly-growing tech startup with a global footprint, then Metabase may be right for you! High talent density is at the forefront of our recruiting strategy, and we’re seeking a driven and thoughtful Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us double our headcount by sourcing top talent globally across all levels of the organization. This role will work to directly source high caliber candidates and manage all interview processes to support a timely, positive, and transparent candidate experience. You will partner with hiring managers to advise on hiring best practices, build quality pipelines, and create a positive candidate experience. The ideal candidate values candidates' and hiring managers' time and is relentless with delivering a high-touch and quality recruiting experience.
At Metabase, we value people who get things done, honor their commitments, keep things moving, seek to understand, and are thoughtful (at speed). Your work will help us build an ambitious and talented team. You will lead and execute our hiring strategies to grow teams across all functions as we scale, initially focusing on non-technical talent, with room to potentially grow to support recruiting efforts for our technical roles. The ideal candidate will have proven experience sourcing high talent density candidates within tech/SaaS/BI in non-technical roles (bonus points if you’re experienced sourcing both technical and non-technical talent!).
< class="h3">Responsibilities

- Manage the candidate journey through outreach, engagement, interviews, offer, and closing to ensure strong conversion and a delightful candidate experience

- Experience growing remote teams from 50 to 100 employees

- A thorough understanding of how to best hire top talent within tech; you are relentless in your pursuit to attract top talent and can persuade passive candidates to enter your pipeline.

- Drive change for the better; your ideas are driven by first principle thinking, creativity, enthusiasm, and pure hustle
- Detail, strategic and results oriented. You can zoom out to help plan business strategy and then zoom in to deliver in the weeds
- Ability to take decisive action with a focus on results, along with strong business acumen, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable partnering with senior leadership on hiring initiatives
- Proactive with a true sense of ownership and accountability + an ability to work asynchronously
