We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who will help us change the way we look at and utilise our data. You will be part of a brand new Data Team (comprising of Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Data Scientists).
You'll be able to work with a modern cloud tech stack, Tableau for visualizations, Keboola and Redshift (or Snowflake) on the backend, thinking of using DBT and working with various data sources as HubSpot, ChartMogul, MongoDB, MariaDB, ElasticSearch, Zendesk, Intercom, Amplitude, and many others.

The Analytics & BI team is responsible for exposing Jellyvision’s data to internal teams in a usable format, including modeling data from multiple sources and managing the tools that Jellyvision teams use to access that modeled data. We’re looking for a driven, entrepreneurial candidate that's motivated to revamp healthcare's broken payment infrastructure. We value creative, outside-the-box thinkers that back their ideas with revenue cycle expertise, technical knowledge and action. This role will be a key support function for new product lines and inform product development and feature releases.
< class="h3"> < class="h3">Responsibilities- Create data pipelines and connect new data sources (claims, contract rates and demographics data, eg) to empower internal and external clients with new data features
- Work closely with Product to conceptualize, prototype, and build new data products
- Apply evolving industry standard data science techniques and toolkits to your analyses and communicate results via reports and visualizations
- Provide client technical support as needed for our price transparency data products
- Draft internal and external technical documentation
- Fluidly meet the sporadic daily tasks of a small, growing startup
- Help build out the rest of the data team at Turquoise
Requirements
- 2+ years demonstrated experience developing custom data models and pipelines, and distributing them in digestible end products
- Previous experience working with a technical team and contributing code to a production environment
- Demonstrated fluency in Python and SQL
- Revenue cycle, healthcare payments, and/or medical billing experience is a plus (but not required)
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you prioritize tasks with an eye for evolving business needs. You can problem solve independently
- Ability to expertly communicate technical details in simple terms to clients and internal stakeholders
- Team player with zero ego
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Bachelor’s degree, OR equivalent experience/knowledge. We are happy to work with strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds

- Build custom data pipelines on top of our core platform (Python/Hadoop/Redshift)
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers to design and develop new product features
- Build out tooling for a data development environment for our clients on our platform
- Identify solutions for client requests
- Drive technical requirements from high-level marketing and business needs of our end users
- 2+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience, preferably in a related field
- Proficiency with at least one mainstream programming language (Python, Java, Scala, Go, C#, Ruby, etc.) Python is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with at least one mainstream database technology
- Proficiency in SQL
- Detailed-oriented and able to work independently
- Motivated self-starter
- Strong analytical skills and a love for all things data
