TravelNest is an Edinburgh founded travel-tech startup. We help Owners of holiday vacation rental properties maximise their performance in a global Guest market. Today with our platform a Host can upload their property details once and be advertised for bookings across 30+ top travel sites including Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia.

Our ambition is to become the place a Host markets and manages their property. Providing everything from channel listings, to operational services, to facilitating direct bookings. A “super app” for vacation rental owners.

About the Role

At present we're a small data team working closely with marketing, customer experience and product engineering teams on the full breadth of data work. We're doing everything from building data pipelines and defining and creating datasets, to building reports and dashboards, to more advanced data science and analytics. By joining our growing team you can help us translate business problems into practical, digestible analytics aiding our teams to be data informed and make better decisions. We are currently a team of 55 based across the UK working remotely/hybrid, following a recent funding round we have ambitious plans to scale our team and grow our product. 

Our main dashboarding and reporting tools are Looker and Google Data Studio. While this is our current setup, we're not constrained by this stack. There's flexibility to choose the right tool for the job if that will deliver the outcomes we need.

What you'll do

You'll bring our data together and make it available to TravelNest so we can all make better decisions on a daily basis.

What does that mean in practice? In any given week you could be:

• Defining core business metrics, creating dashboards and tools to monitor the health of the business
• You will be the data visualisation expert for the company helping to create a culture where our teams are evidence and data led
• You will collaborate with the wider data team, partnering with data engineering to reconcile data, ensure accuracy, quality and integrity throughout our data flow
• Collaborate closely with business leaders to inform on business strategy for future optimisation and growth
• You will spot trends and share actionable insights
• You are confident in presenting business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
• You are comfortable analysing data from multiple sources, bringing this together and distilling down into useful analytics 
• Working with data scientists to build more advanced analytics into the product or to serve model outputs to teams around the business

What we're looking for

• Previous Experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist
• Strong exploratory and data analysis and visualisation skills
• Deeply numerate and thrive in a software development environment where there is a deep connection between building great software products and data
• Confident presenting data to different audiences across our teams
• Experience using analytical tools such as Excel, 
• Experience using SQL for accessing and manipulating data
• Experience processing large datasets (We also use Python extensively for more advanced analytical work. We use Git to version control all of our analytical projects) 
• Previous experience accessing data in cloud computing environments (we use AWS for all of our data and engineering work e.g. S3 for data storage and AWS Glue/Athena for data warehousing and querying)
• Comfortable proactively managing your priorities, connecting these to business impact and displaying a high level of ownership and accountability towards your goals
• Excellent written and verbal English communication

What we are looking for

• At least two years of work experience in the field of Information Security working for a regulated financial institution or as a consultant for an acknowledged consulting company
• Experience with Data Protection and strong knowledge of GDPR
• Knowledge of security standards and guidelines (BAIT, ISO 270xx, GDPR) and a good understanding of tech topics (Jira, Confluence, AWS)

Seeq is searching for a ‘superstar’ Analytics Engineer – Lead Instructor to play a critical role in the growth of the company as it serves process industries. 

Our customers are within industrial process segments that collect and use large amounts of sensor data like oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemical, energy, power, food processing, etc. Ultimately, the goal is to help our customers increase sustainability and production, drive down costs, etc. in energy, food, medicines, and other consumable products to make the world a better place. The Analytics Engineer - Lead Instructor will be an expert in delivering, helping to scale, and continuing the development of our innovative hands-on data analytics training, which helps process engineers, operators, data scientists, and managers learn how to use data to make better business decisions (improving sustainability, reliability, productivity, safety, etc.). Enabling our customers to use Seeq to its fullest (through learning) is critical to their success and ours, and candidates are expected to continuously learn, grow, and contribute across several departments within the company. The Analytics Engineer - Lead Instructor should have a strong technical background in relevant engineering and/or scientific fields, with strong interest and skill in teaching and/or mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a go-to to deliver outstanding Foundations, Advanced, Data Lab, and Instructor Training courses. 
• Update evaluations/exams for Seeq Certifications. 
• Coordinate internal knowledge transfer on new tools and training materials, and also soft skills & technical communication. 
• May contribute to Use Case development (how to apply Seeq to solve a given problem, etc.); possibly in verticals in which we have less internal expertise.

Qualifications

You will play a hands-on role developing and implementing comprehensive tools and strategies that allow raw data to be transformed into business insights. WorkMoney is looking for a Lead Data Scientist with hands-on experience in natural language processing to help transform our data into information. In the year ahead, WorkMoney will be tackling complex problems like identifying signs of financial crisis in text messages, building personas and segments based on text patterns and surfacing key themes and topics in comment collection. This role will lead the data team in the creation of sentiment analyzers, topic modeling, archetype building and more. Successful candidates will have experience with building production ready NLP projects, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques and at least one programming language for data science. Fresh Gravity is looking for an architect level Talend Master Data Management (MDM) SME to drive an assessment initiative with one of our clients. The Data Analytics Consultant partners with the Business Consultant regarding EEO, Affirmative Action, and Diversity strategies. How our teams are structured

We have just launched our first international office in NYC and are looking for exceptional iniduals to join our delivery team as coaches. As our Data coach, you will be responsible for delivering our Data Fellowship curriculum, working with highly engaged iniduals as they start their career in data.

Your role will be a mixture of small group workshops and bootcamps plus one-on-one sessions, and supporting apprentices across incredibly exciting businesses to become the next generation of data leaders. What does the program I would be teaching look like?

You will be delivering a Data Analyst program. The topics you will teach will progress through the program, starting with the data analytics fundamentals such as Excel, SQL and visualizations with Tableau, to teaching more advanced data topics such as Big Data, Natural Language Processing, Python and R.

The Position & Responsibilities:

As a senior engineer working on our Data Science team, you will be responsible for building/managing the data and feature pipeline for our data science/ML initiatives. This entails sourcing data, converting data into features, and managing these features and the models that employ them as part of our feature store infrastructure (feature engineering). You will have a background in building data pipelines for the purpose of collecting, cleansing, and transforming data, for use in the initiatives that bring unique insights to our users. As part of the larger ActivTrak team, you will be working in a close-knit team that is expected to code to scale to hundreds of millions of events per day, leverage our petabyte+ of existing data, and support our 150,000+ users as we disrupt the productivity analytics industry. You will be collaborating with teams across engineering and the business to help provide insights and answers to our customers’ most pressing questions.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience building ETL pipelines in Python
• Experience bringing Machine Learning to production at scale
• Experience with batch and stream data processing
