We're looking to expand our engineering team. We're on our way to building the one-stop-shop to help job seekers land their dream jobs, a single step at a time. You will be our second engineering hire and third engineer at the company (including one of the co-founders).
We're based in New York City but have team members all over the world.
Compensation: Up to $180,000 salary (USD) and possible equity
Who the heck are we?
We're BeamJobs—helping job seekers navigate the often frustrating, ambiguous process of finding and landing a new job throughout each step of the search.
Here's where we're at:
- We launched our resume builder in June 2020
- Since then, we've helped over 2,000,000 job seekers across the globe improve their resumes
- We launch more products and tools all the time (we most recently launched an AI-powered cover letter generator)
- We get over 600,000 unique visitors to our site each month
- We're a team of 4 full-time employees (including the 2 co-founders) and 7 contractors
- We work 100% remotely
- We operate 100% asynchronously (outside of a brief daily standup), which means there's no Slack channel to obsess over
- We're just getting started
You'll be working most closely with me (Justin, one of the co-founders) and our other engineer (Wellington). Feel free to check out my LinkedIn (I worked at Google after college then left to start BeamJobs).
The position
We're looking for a seasoned full-stack engineer who's excited to join a small team and take ownership over the codebase. As one of 3 engineers you'll get exposure to every part of our stack, from creating pixel-perfect UIs to tweaking our API for performance.
You'll work on improving our existing resume builder, creating/ owning brand new products (think: cover letter generator, job application tracker, etc), improving the codebase overall, and loads of other stuff.
Some projects you might work on
- Use generative AI to customize a resume for each job a candidate applies to
- Implement an AI-powered resume grader to let people know what's working and what's not on their resumes
- Create a brand new product from end-to-end to recommend jobs to candidates that come to our platform and make it easy for them to apply
- Set up an A/B test in the resume builder to see how adding more resume templates improves paid conversion rate
Our tech stack
- 💻 We use Typescript , Angular, and Tailwind in the front-end
- 🧪 We use Python/ Django in the backend to power the API that the front-end consumes (Python knowledge is not a requirement to apply to this job)
- 📔 We have a Postgres database
- 🥳 Our front-end is hosted on Netlify, and the API/ database are hosted on Heroku
What's next?
- Intro call (30 minutes) Meet Justin for a brief live coding challenge. Think more "fizzbuzz" and less "reverse a binary tree". We'll then talk more about the role and your background.
- Technical interview (2 hrs): This will consist of two one hour interviews, run back-to-back. One will be with Wellington (the other engineer on the team), and the other will be with me (Justin). Some things we've done in the past (we're always tweaking this part of the process): work together on a small Angular project; talk more about your background; solve a data structures/ algorithms problem;
- Meet the other co-founder (30 minutes) You'll have a 30 minute chat with Stephen, our other co-founder. You'll work through a business problem to get a sense of how you two work and brainstorm together.
- Job offer (45 minutes) You'll meet with Justin one more time to review final compensation numbers, go over the details of the job, and discuss what you're looking for.
Note: We currently cannot offer assistance in obtaining US work authorization.
Requirements
We're looking for an engineer that's interested in joining an early-stage startup. That involves the ability to adapt quickly, a desire to understand how to improve the health of the business, and an interest in writing code at every level of the stack. We'd like someone that:
- Is eager to work at a small but growing bootstrapped startup (we operate on revenue, not heaps of VC cash)
- Has 3+ years experience working on all aspects of a modern production web app (front-end, API, database)
- Has expertise using Angular (it's okay if you don't know Python/ Django)
- Can create pixel-perfect web UIs and has a knack for design (though you don't have to be a professional-level designer)
- Can communicate effectively in both written and spoken English (you don't have to be perfect, but we're a remote-first company so written documentation is very important to us)
- Can meet for a 30-minute standup at 12:30pm EST about four days a week
Benefits
- 💰 Competitive salary (up to $180,000 USD)
- 📈 Possibility for equity, based on experience
- ⚖️ Work-life balance (when you're off, you're actually off)
- 🌏 100% remote & flexible schedule
- 💻 Up to $2,000 equipment budget when you start
- 👶 12 weeks of paid parental leave
- 🏝 3 weeks of paid vacation per year (plus US federal holidays and a 2 week company-wide break in December)
- 🛠 Latest productivity software like Notion, Loom, Github, etc.
- 🚀 A great opportunity for you to grow fast and learn a lot

We’ve spent the past couple years building applications and infrastructure for consumers and developers on Ethereum, with a focus on Decentralized Finance (DeFi). 0x API are just some of the crypto products we’ve brought to market.
While trying to build products with delightful user experiences on Ethereum and other blockchains, we experienced first-hand what a pivotal role crypto wallets have in a project’s ability to succeed and attract users.
We’ve also seen how existing wallet solutions can hold projects back, and keep users from experiencing DeFi, NFTs and web3 in the way they can and should be experienced.
Our goal is to make it easy for anyone to engage with the expanding ecosystem of crypto projects (across blockchains), and to enable those projects to deliver the experiences their users deserve.
Role Description

Responsibilities
As a Security focused Frontend Engineer at Phantom, you will be at the forefront of creating innovative solutions for our users. Your primary role will be developing, implementing, and maintaining the Phantom Authentication & Seedless Recovery systems.

At Medusa, we provide the best tooling for developers to build custom digital commerce applications. In under three years, we have become the most popular open-source ecommerce project available. Ahead of us is a massive opportunity to become the world’s leading commerce framework, and we're looking for a new engineer to join us in achieving this goal.
About Medusa
Medusa had its first commit in 2020, raised the first round of capital in 2021, and became the largest open-source ecommerce project on GitHub last year. Today, Medusa counts an 8k developer community, has crossed +1M npm downloads, and has raised $9M in funding. Yet, we are only just getting started.
Until now, our 15-person remote team has been fully focused on developing a suite of open-source backend modules for core commerce logic such as carts, customers, products, and order management. These have been adopted by thousands of developers from high-impact companies in over 40 countries.
The next big product leap is building the foundational layer for our future monetization mechanism with our upcoming orchestration and workflow tooling. You will play a central role in shaping and developing this new product area.
Building our commerce orchestration engine
Today’s commerce stacks are often complex and span multiple systems that each play a role in serving the end-customer experience. Yet, most companies are left on their own to build the middleware that orchestrates and coordinates actions across these systems. We want to change this.
Our next major goal is to develop an orchestration engine that allows companies to seamlessly coordinate and control workflows across multiple systems, which may include our commerce modules or their own systems.
This orchestration engine will manage complex workflows with transactions spanning several potentially distributed services. Working directly with our founding team, you will help shape how we structure some of the core parts of this new product domain and own implementation of these parts end-to-end.
Examples of what you could build
- A transaction orchestrator managing atomic operations across distributed services.
- A workflow builder to define and build the steps in a distributed transaction.
- A query engine to read, filter, and sort data living in distributed data stores.
- A product module that includes all business logic related to product information.
- A conditional pricing engine to calculate prices based on dynamic contexts.
Who you are
- You have worked for +5 years with backend engineering, Node.js and Postgres.
- You absolutely love a good developer experience.
- You can navigate ambiguity and changing priorities that exist in a startup.
- You always provide candid feedback to colleagues and are receptive to the same.
- You comfortably lead projects end-to-end.
Working at Medusa
Medusa is a 100% remote organization with a team distributed across European and US East Coast time zones. We are a small team of 15 people that moves fast. In your role, you will be exploring a new, exciting product area of Medusa and working closely with our founding team to shape it. This means you need to be comfortable under uncertainty and be ready to take up a lot of responsibility from day one.
What you get
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
- Generous options package as an early team member - best 10% among peers.
- Autonomous work. You control when and where you work.
- Fully paid WFH setup and support of other amenities.
- Two off-sites per year.
- Health coverage in the US.
What we value
- Hard work: We are tackling the problems that no one else in our space has dared to. At Medusa, you’ll work hard to solve some of the most complex challenges in engineering.
- Great work: We build exceptional tools so other companies can build exceptional products. Everyone in our organization is passionate about our mission and eager to deliver their best work.
- Collaborative work: We help our colleagues succeed. Give candid feedback. Tell them what they did right and what they can do better. Only this way can we improve.

Title: Intermediate Software Developer – Internal Apps
Location: Canada
Type: Full-time
Workplace: remote JobDescription:Jane is looking for a Backend or Full Stack Developer to join our Internal Apps team and play an integral role in building and maintaining features and platforms for different departments at Jane. We own and spend most of our efforts woking on our own homegrown Jane Account Management (JAM) application and its surrounding ecosystem. JAM is a separate platform from the main Jane monolith that other teams work on. Our team develops features used by our customers and various departments, such as Support, Marketing, Finance, Business Intelligence, Security. Like any team at Jane, we have a customer oriented mindset and we care deeply how our work impacts our customers. This role is perfect for someone looking develop solutions to help serve our customers and enable our internal stakeholders to effortlessly serve our customers more effectively.
One of our team’s core responsibilities is Subscription Billing, meaning we own the billing and payments pipeline, and have a direct impact on how Jane collects revenue from customers. We are also the first point of contact new customers have with Jane the Software. We responsible for the Sign Up, Account Setup and Provisioning process for new customers. In addition to features, we have a technical vision of creating an application ecosystem for JAM by decoupling existing highly impactful features into their own services.
Like with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. Building a delighted team who can delight our customers is part of Jane’s DNA. In our most recent company-wide health check, 99% of our team agreed that our founders demonstrate people are important to Jane’s success. On top of that, 98% of our team felt the Manager cares about them as human beings and that they are supported when needing to arrange time off from work. We’d never claim to be perfect, but we’re working hard to listen to our people and improve each day.
We really want the people who work at Jane to love being here, so it’s important that we start with a bit about what makes our company unique and try to be as transparent as possible. Our values also provide some insights into Jane and hopefully, you’ll have a better idea if this might be the kind of company you want to be part of.
Before we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Our platform is now helping to modernize the world of practice management software. We enable the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here. Although we’ve grown, still to this day, we’re rooted in solving clinics’ problems and making sure we don’t lose sight of Jane’s vision.
We have remained profitable for the past seven years, we’re product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesn’t happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack.
We’re not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, we’re not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. We’re a company that’s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we don’t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving.
With all that to say, if you’re looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people’s lives, Jane could be the place for you.
Compensation Expectations for the Role
Jane’s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $90,000 and a maximum annual salary of $135,000. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, we’ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a salary between $106,900 to $112,500. It’s also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $106,900 typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn’t yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $112,500 is typically for iniduals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge. At Jane, we pay for growth, which means that you’ll continue to have conversations about your career development with your manager and see your compensation grow over time as you build an amazing career with us.
