What will you be responsible for?
- Development of our Ruby on Rails monolith.
- Write high-quality, clean, and scalable code following best practices and design patterns

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex technical challenges

About Clearmatics
Clearmatics is a blockchain protocol engineering company that builds decentralised financial market infrastructures that are more open, efficient, and resilient than those serving legacy market structures of today.
We have a bold vision for this new market infrastructure - enabling market participants to solve currently unaddressed problems of the real economy, including “missing markets” problems. We aim to achieve our vision through technologies that allow peer-to-peer trading and settlement within new markets, and with digital assets whose values track real-world risk factors that currently have no suitable expression in legacy markets.
No matter the nature of a risk factor, whether macro-economic or relating to real-world metrics such as climate data, our mission is to make important risk factors tradable; by anyone, anywhere, without reliance on financial intermediaries. We are building this new infrastructure in collaboration with incredible trading and blockchain communities.
Clearmatics was founded in 2015, and we have ever since been committed advocates of Open Source development, and active participants in the blockchain and cryptography research communities. We’ve also been an active participant and supporter of decentralized infrastructure initiatives.
We’re growing our team and are looking for a Senior Python Software Engineer to join us and become part of our journey.
Our stack is Ethereum-like, so familiarity with – and passion for – the space is key.
Some of the areas we tackle include blockchain infrastructure optimized for financial use-cases, protocols for specific applications (such as smart contract-based derivatives, synthetic assets, cryptocurrency stabilization, …), scalability and privacy through cryptography (zkSNARKs, multiparty computation, private transactions/assets).
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for building and maintaining the command-line tools, API servers, and Python SDKs that will be the primary interface for Autonity’s end-users. The apps, libraries, frameworks, and services that you develop will enable the creation of decentralised risk markets and a new market structure for DeFi on the Autonity blockchain.
Requirements
- 5+ years professional experience in software development
- 2+ years professional experience in Python software development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Strong Python skills with experience in network and concurrent programming
- An understanding of Ethereum protocols and proof of stake consensus
- Experience developing REST APIs, backend services, and automated pipelines
- Proficiency with SQL databases, GraphQL sources, and time series data
- Good knowledge of Unix shell scripting and command-line tools
- Familiarity with CEX/DEX trade lifecycle and common DeFi protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and appreciation for software correctness
Bonus Points
- Contributed code to open-source projects in the Web3 space
- Experience developing DeFi trading tools or frameworks
- Proficiency with Python scientific computing stack (NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter)
- Smart contract programming experience in Solidity
- Programming experience in a systems language like Go, Rust, or C++

Senior Backend Engineer (Ruby on Rails)
at CompanyCam
Remote (U.S.)
Hi, we’re CompanyCam.
We create simple-to-use, visual-first communication and accountability tools for contractors. Imagine a B2B SaaS (business-to-business software-as-a-service) app that doesn’t look like garbage, built by a team of capable, laid-back people.
But don’t let the chill throw you off; we’re a fast-growing, product-led startup with big plans for the future.
The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.
As a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, you’ll work alongside other engineers, designers, and product managers to tackle everything from huge company initiatives to modest but important bug fixes, from start to finish. You’ll also collaborate with your product team on discovery, helping to assess the direction and feasibility of product changes.
In this role, we are looking for someone interested in ing into the world of AI. You will spend time using new tools to help us solve problems for our users that will make their jobs easier and better!
Most importantly, you’ll actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our backend engineering discipline. We want senior devs with experience effectively scaling codebases and iterating on processes as part of a growing team and with an interest in mentoring to help our devs grow too.
Working At CompanyCam
Our engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don’t care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you’re not an a**hole and you’re good at what you do.
Our Product and Engineering departments also do things a little differently than what you might be used to.
We use a customized version of Basecamp’s Shape Up method (fused with empowered product teams a la Marty Cagan’s Inspired) to organize and execute our work. That means you’ll work in a close-knit team consisting of a product manager, a product designer, and other engineers on an area of the product in 3 to 6-week cycles.
During cycles, you’ll spend most of your time implementing product improvements, but you’ll also work with your team shaping (generating and vetting) product improvements for the next cycle. After each cycle, your team will stop, reset, and choose to tackle another cycle or take a 1-2 week cool-down (a period of undirected work where you’ll pursue educational opportunities, work on pet projects, or smash some bugs that have been nagging at you). Rinse and repeat until code nirvana.
Sounds nice, right? No sprinting, no scrumming, no death by 1,000 meetings. We protect our engineers’ time, treat them like adults, and trust them to get their work done. We’re also big on not overworking people. Put in your eight hours of focused, quality work, and then TURN. SLACK. OFF. No nights and weekends.
Our larger company culture is also refreshingly chill. We have fun, learn from each other, and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
We cover the important stuff too. We pay well, offer unlimited vacation, meaningful equity, health insurance, and other benefits. This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. The starting point of our salary band for mid-level engineers is $130,000. The top of our salary band for new senior engineers is $170,000.
What We Ask Of You
Must-haves
These are our non-negotiables:
- Show up: have the courage to do difficult but necessary stuff.
- Grow up: take responsibility, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
- Do good: treat your co-workers and customers the way you want to be treated.
- Strong experience with and knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
- Experience with Python is a plus!
- 5 or more years of experience working as a professional developer. (Not all years of experience are created equal, so this one isn’t set in stone.)
- Reside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S. Alas, we’re not set up to hire outside of the U.S.
Nice-to-haves
Day to day, you’ll spend 90%+ of your time working in Ruby on Rails, but, of course, that’s not all you’ll work with. While experience with the following technologies are not required (we’re cool with some on-the-job learning), you will see them with varying levels of frequency:
- GraphQL & REST
- PostgreSQL
- Redis
- AWS services (S3, EC2, etc)
- ElasticSearch
- MongoDB
- AWS Bedrock
Ready to apply?
If you share our passion for serving our customers and bringing truth and transparency to the contracting industry, we’d love to review your application! Are you reading this and wondering if you meet every requirement? Studies show that workplace minorities, such as women and people of color, are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single requirement. At CompanyCam, we pride ourselves on celebrating everyone. We are actively working on creating a erse and inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive. If you’re interested in applying, do it! Even if your experiences don’t directly line up or you are missing that one thing’. We are excited to read your application!
For any needed accommodations during the hiring process, please email [email protected].
We are not accepting applicants outside the U.S.

Principal Product Designer
at Neon
Remote
Neon is an open-source company on a mission to create a cloud-native database service for every developer
We are looking for a Principal Product Designer who wants to focus on creating a friction-free developer experience. You will be responsible for designing a simple way for developers to use Postgres in their workflow.
You will join a Design team (4 people) and make a huge impact on the usability of Neon’s cloud platform.
You’re passionate about details and think in systems, not just screens. This multidisciplinary design role requires user research, prototyping, interaction design, and visual design skills.
In this role, you will:
- Set and communicate a clear design vision for the Neon database, ensuring consistency and quality across all product lines.
- Drive design excellence by establishing and maintaining design standards and best practices.
- Design end-to-end holistic experience, from discovery to ideation, testing, and prototyping of the ideal user experience.
- Define, test, and iterate on the interaction design of new and existing features (user flows, detailed product wireframes, prototypes).
- Participate in user research to guide product design decisions (contextual inquiry, usability testing, competitive analysis, etc.).
- Ensure all aspects of our product are easy to use and delightful.
- Influence product and design direction through compelling storytelling that communicates a clear UX vision to all the stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure the implementation of design components and patterns.
- Drive the collaboration and build strong partnerships with Design, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to collaboratively create, align, and execute your vision.
We are looking for someone who has
- Proven experience as a Principal Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work for developer tools or complex software applications.
- Deep expertise in interaction design, user-centered design principles, and usability testing.
- Experience with design tools (like Figma, Sketch, Invision, AdobeSuit).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Technical aptitude:
- Worked closely with engineers
- Understand software development life cycles and development flow with git
- Used or co-created a CLI
- Solid understanding of user-centered design process and strong knowledge of user experience principles.
- Experience applying lean UX principles focusing on collaboration with extended team members.
- Experience iterating to improve designs based on feedback from peer reviews, demonstrations to stakeholders, and usability evaluation activities such as usability testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including techniques to persuade and negotiate and the ability to articulate alternative approaches.
- You’re not afraid of getting technical: No prior developer tools experience is required, but you are excited to learn about databases, developer workflows, and application development.
Additional Bonus
- You are familiar with relational databases and typical developer and operational workflows around them.
- You understand developer workflows, you are accustomed to CI/CD, and you have worked with CLIs.
- You have experience in PLG-led SaaS – a proven track record of designing successful SaaS-based software products and features from scratch in the startup building dev tools or productivity tools from initial research and discovery through concept design/iteration to completed product launches and continued improvements.
- You thrive in a fast-paced work environment that requires independent self-direction with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.

Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer
Location: Remote
At Fonoa, we are transforming how digital-first companies stay tax compliant. We provide simple and modular API solutions that easily integrate into any existing workflow. Through our technology first approach, we reduce manual processes, increase compliance and reduce the cost of operations when transacting and scaling internationally.
We are solving one of the largest yet unsolved problems in global e-commerce. Our tax automation software enables companies such as Uber, Zoom, Booking.com, Squarespace and Rappi to expand their international offerings more quickly and stay tax compliant.
Engineering plays a very central part in the business.
As a company with ambitions to be a world-class API solution for all things tax, we value quality over quantity when building, and we care about creating scalable and maintainable software that our customers and daily users can rely on.
Some pointers about our engineering culture:
- Engineers are given customer problems to solve rather than features to build.
- We understand the customer’s needs before considering implementation details.
- Engineers are owners of their past, present and future; architecture, tools, coding, testing, deployment, operations and scaling
- We work in lean, small teams. We co-own the product roadmap with product managers
- We choose collaboration, compassion and trust over inidualism and politics
- We prefer innovation, constant iteration and trust over competition and perfect solutions.
- We support each other, are kind by nature, and give as much feedback to improve as professionals.
- We break down complex problems and consistently seek to find the most straightforward solutions.
- We take quality seriously and factor it into everything we do.
- We are comfortable with change, either in priorities, goals and deadlines. We see this more as an opportunity than a hurdle. We are not satisfied with the status quo and push for change.
- We seek those looking to make a severe impact and are excited about working in a high-growth startup.
- We ship fast, continuously, and iteratively, learning each step.
- We are data-informed. And are ok with finding the data when it’s missing.
Our products
We have a suite of API products that automate tax-related workflows for any internet company. Those products are Lookup, Tax, Returns, Data sharing and E-Invoicing.
We may discover novel customer needs as we learn and spin up new products as required.
Our API docs
For you as an engineer, API documentation is probably an important part when considering a new career move. Thanks to the API docs, you can recognise how API works and how it is structured.
Please, visit our API documentation and learn more about our API endpoints and how to use them – https://docs.fonoa.com/.
Our Tech Stack
Fonoa has a suite of API products that automate tax-related workflows for any internet company. Check them out below:
- For backend, we use Node and Go
- For the frontend, we use ReactJS and Typescript
- For persistence, we use PostgreSQL
- We use Azure and GCP for our cloud services
- We manage our infrastructure with Terraform, Kubernetes CRDs, ArgoCD and DataDog.
As an engineer, I follow a product through its lifecycle, from ideation to delivery and support, which gives a lot of exposure to the technology and customer needs. This allows me to learn to improve both myself and the product constantly. – Philip Beel, Engineering Manager.
What you will do
- Learn about how painful it is for companies to handle tax manually, and think about how our products are changing the status quo
- Own what you build, with the ability to decide how to make it and the responsibility of operating it in the production environment.
- Build meaningful products with REST APIs that our customers use and depend on for everyday business (finance, operation, tax and developer teams)
- Build new product features across the stack, from back-end business logic implementation to front-end customer-facing interfaces.
- Write high quality robust, modular code for frontend and backend
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs as well as internal applications capabilities
- Record and collate lots and lots of data sets from all these operations for long-term storage and future insight
- Use every learning and observation to improve our products, constantly
- Understand customer needs and the pain they are experiencing related to tax automation
- Understand competitive products
You would be a great fit if
- You are fully proficient in English. Written and spoken, we are from around the world, but we work in English.
- You have a strong sense of ownership, care about what you build, and do the right thing that serves your customers.
- You’re a builder at heart; you like the opportunity of having tons of exposure, making things work for a company long term, and having an entrepreneurial attitude toward anything that comes your way.
- You are either eager to learn or comfortable scaling and operating large-scale microservices in high-growth environments.
- You are proficient in a couple of languages; most of our current codebase is in node.js with Typescript and Go on the backend. We use ReactJS on the front end, but we are not married to any tools; we see them as a means to an end.
- You like to keep your house tidy and clean, and you just can’t leave code not covered with a test. Or a feature undelivered. Or dead code rotting in production.
- You ship fast, continuously, and iteratively, learning each step.
- You like to use data over opinions to make decisions. And are ok with finding the data yourself when it’s missing.
- You are comfortable with change, either in priorities, goals and deadlines. You see this more as an opportunity than a hurdle. You are also satisfied with challenging the status quo and pushing for change.
- You want to make a severe impact and are excited about working in a high-growth startup.
Note:
If you feel you don’t have the whole experience we’re looking for but feel you could be a bit fit and are willing to learn, do apply anyway! We are trying to build a erse and inclusive team.
